Thanks Matt! I’ve install & run on my Macbook Air M2 8GB RAM. Its too slow to load the Microsoft Power BI & almost impossible to navigate around. Planning on upgrading my Macbook. Do you think 16GB RAM would be enough or i’ll need more like 24GB or 32GB RAM to run smoothly Parallel VM & Microsoft Power BI ?

I was wondering where could I get the course where they have taught what do we have to study ? And yes, hatts off to this course for providing just that. I hope everyone can share their experience by replying on this comment.

All thing considered, if you want to use MS applications, its much cheaper to buy a Windows computer. You've failed to mention that, adding to the Parallels cost, you need to buy a windows licence. Just adding up 😁

@MattMike Hey Matt - thanks for the vid. This is the main reason I run Parallels - for PowerBI. Like others have asked - I'm interested in your Mac spec. I have been using Parallels on my Intel based desktop for years (i5, 32Gb memory and a M.2 drive) and performance has always been great. Picked up a new M2 MBP 16Gb, loaded Parallels 19 (tried 18 also) with Win11 & PowerBI and even allocating 12Gb to Parallels, PowerBI is so slow, it is near unusable. Very clean environment (fresh install of everything). So I'm not sure if it's the ARM ver of Windows 11 specifically - I was hoping to see improved performance from the M2 hardware but so far my experience is the opposite. Wish I could jam an extra 16Gb memory in to see if that makes the difference.

Hello! I am a student trying to expand my skills on Power Bi and Python. I have never used Power Bi, but I want to learn and have a certificate on my LinkedIn to improve my curriculum. Would you recommend this exam?

I'm glad you made this video. Self teaching takes time and staying focused is difficult. My first project looked terrible but I got the idea of how to use the tools. Unfortunately we're not in a job market for rookies. There are so many tool video lessons, but fewer analysis process videos.

Can you also compare Tableau to PowerBI from a corporation deployment standpoint? How does each stack up when administering the corporate site. User login, Folder management and protection. Tableau has a really robust server and then site admin options. I can lock folders by groups or individuals. Each project then has a large array of settings to allow or limit users from filtering, downloading, editing, Saving. Tableau also has their subscriptions and alert messages that can be sent to anyone that subscripts to them when data meets and certain criteria. Everyone always compares the building piece, but it is difficult to find the consumption comparison.

That is a great looking resume with a lot of great info. I am worried about using columns on the side though because of how bad ATS can be. I'm not sure if it can potentially be an issue or not

I liked the way you broke down what to know for each tool. The biggest issues for me are, how to know if my project is good enough, and how to offer useful analytical insights. It's hard to solve a problem with a kaggle data set. All you can really do is show you know how to explore data. I've done practice data cleaning, some basic sql practice questions, and code along dashboards where you watch someone make a dashboard and do it yourself along each step to learn hands on rather than just watching.

Great video, I liked the with work and with practice project differences. I appreciate the reasoning why the data resume is so unique. Not sure if you'd know the answer, but many of my projects so far are code along. Meaning I did the sql, excel, sql, or python as a youtuber created a project. Should I be honest and note that it was a practice along project or claim it as my own since I did write it?

I haven't finished the video yet, I got to the 50 element limit issue. I cringed, and saw your workaround. Then I thought to myself, for reals how silly am I. If you are willing to buy 2 gallons of gas, 2-3 coffees, or 1.5 L bottle of cheap white wine, but you won't spend $9 a year to create a possibly life changing career portfolio, you should just stop and ask yourself if you're serious or not. Thanks for the walk through. Thanks for the honesty of catching your mistake. I'd rather pay $9 annual for something slick looking because github is great but it's ugly AF for non techie types.

Mocrosoft sofware are always sub-standard. They win just bcz of market dominance. Windows until XP were great. Windows 7-11 are just over-simplified versions of XP.
