@@yairakatz8688 hey, that is Sagittaria subulata. It was planted a bit deeper at first. But I moved some of the sand towards the back. Because of that the roots got a bit exposed.

@@romancharak3675 thank you ❤️ I have a new aquascaping style in mind to go with it. I'm uncertain though if I want to do this style in this tank and already not have enough width for this. Or upgrade to an aquascaper friendly tank. Lots of thoughts and considerations at the moment.

@@andre35592 ik heb zelf ook niet de Father Fish supplement maar heb zelf twee keer iets samen gesteld. De eerste verhouding was vijver grond (uit een zak), verse compost voor de tuin, dun laagje aqua soil, baking soda, kalkpoeder voor orchideeën, gesnipperde eierschalen en lateriet tabletten. Met name de baking soda werkte voor mij niet goed, want mijn vissen waren qua gezondheid niet op hun best. Mijn huidige bodems hebben geen baking soda en gaat nu allemaal prima. Verhoudingen zijn ongeveer hetzelfde gebleven, al heb ik de aqua soil en kalkpoeder wat verminderd. Zelf heb ik geen 2,5 cm aan grond in mijn bak zitten, maar ongeveer de helft daarvan. Qua verhouding aan modder kun je altijd de lengte x breedte x diepte van je laag doen en kijken hoeveel je nodig hebt. Het ligt er ook compleet aan wat voor grond je in je bak wilt.

@@farmpondevolution2958 They don't bother shrimplets at all, because they are growing in population. It's also because of the cover in the tank. The neons stay more in the open area with the least amount of flow.

@@titiasplantedaquariums I noticed that with other fish. I have been trying to get a few more tiger barbs for one of my tanks, but most of them die. This is a tank that has been set up for about 3 years, so it's well established. I also got 10 chili rasboras and only 3 lived (I think they are actually exclamation point rasboras, they are not very colorful). I wonder what is going on with fish breeders.

@@carlosjavi9284 Los tanques nuevos siempre son agradables. Pero me encanta mi Juwel Rio 125 como tanque principal. No es demasiado grande ni demasiado pequeño. Ese tanque probablemente lo conservaré para siempre mientras los sellos aguanten jaja.

Thank you, Mandy 🙏🏻 Shoaling fish, Corydoras and amano shrimp have always been a favourite combo of mine. They are hilarious to watch, especially when an amano shrimp tries to steal the food🤣

I have two types of algae wafers that fall apart. I also have another algae wafer that doesn't fall apart. With these I don't have the feeling they can get some bites off.

I made a version of my own since I am on the other side of the world. I used aquatic pond soil, compost etc and some laterite. In my newest tank I used a little sprinkle of lime powder and aqua soil.

Hey hunaban, thank you for your comment 🙏🏻 How many hours are your tank light on currently? The traditional tank folks recommends 8 hours to start. But that's to little in my opinion. In nature plants go dormant with 8 hours, which happens when it's winter time. I basically like to replicate a light spring in my tank with between 9 or 10 hours. I would hold onto these hours for a week or maybe 2. And then every 5 days or week increasing with half an hour. When the tank is just setup and plants are trying to settle in, it is best to not disturb the tank unnecessarily but basic maintenance is fine. Algae will take over a bit in the beginning. But if you just be patient the plants will eventually be strong enough to take the control back. But having snails and shrimps will be crucial in maintaining the tank as well. They eat algae and dying leaf matter. I focus on these first instead of on adding fish. Some things might be the opposite of what FF does but it works for my tanks. Lighting wise 12 hours in total is enough to get a good healthy tank.

@@titiasplantedaquariums Currently, the aqua lamp lights up for 11 hours and the plants still receive liquid fertilizer. So should I wait 2 weeks before moving the fish in and put the snails and shrimp in first? I can see that there is a little flow in the aqua due to the small filter. Does the filter not absorb the microfauna? And I also want water movement in my pool. Do you recommend it? Do you use Mycorrhisae fungi and iron oxide in your aqua? Sorry to ask so many questions. I'm really looking forward to my animals living in a more natural aquarium. ♥🤗

@@huaban7736 Hey, you can just add a few snails and a few shrimp a few days later. 1,5 weeks later after adding the snails, you can add a few small fish. As long as your filter is still cycled you won't have much of a crash. But I would still be mindfull and slowly build up your livestock in the tank. Flow is good for the plants and for oxygen exchange. I don't have a full food web myself, so I don't know if small critters will be sucked up by the filter. If it's low flow it won't matter much. But I wouldn't advice on stagnant water either. Just find something that works for your tank and your fish. I don't have fungi and iron oxide in my dirt mix, since buying the FF supplement is to much of an expense and pain to ship over. I just made a mix of the basics that I could find here. And cycle the tank with live bacteria from an etsablished filter. Adding some leaves, mud and plants from the wild will also help in doing the same.

I find this filter already quite big for this size, since I can run this same filter on my 80 cm tank with no problem. Do neon tetra prefer more flow? I have never had neon tetras before, so I don't know🤷🏻‍♀️

@@titiasplantedaquariums I don't think they'd require much high flow, because in the wild they tend to live in shaded, calm waters with a lot of leaf and other detritus. I feel like such an environment wouldn't be very possible in strongly flowing waters. Also, have you ever done a blackwater tank? Tetras look so beautiful due to the contrast in those setups! (Plus it is a lot like their wild habitats!) Your tanks are beautiful by the way :)

Well, luck has it that I have been thinking about recreating their natural environment with lots of wood, leaf litter and minimal green. But that might take a while, since I want to keep the new scape alive for approxamitly a year. But I 100% agree with you that their colours would show up much more vibrantly like that.

I had a different scape before this, but it didn't satisfied me enough to make public in book form for the rest of my life. I redid it 4 days ago, so everything isn't that grown in yet. The red plants are rotala rotundifolia from my main tank.

The dimensions are 80x35x50 cm and they say it holds 125 liter, but it's more like 105 in reality.

I'm working on an aquascaping chapter in the upcoming Father Fish book that explains how to achieve something similar. The book might be ready for by end of April. So stay tuned 👍🏻
