My interest in recumbent triking began by watching videos from other riders. I hope that my videos will perpetuate this great activity.
Louisville Hike, Bike & Paddle
Our recumbents were a micro minority in a sea of upright bikes riding in the Louisville Hike, Bike and Paddle event. This event in the past occurred every Memorial and Labor Day weekends, except this year only on Labor Day.
The route changes from year to year and this time it was a bit shorter than usual. We could have easily ridden it twice, but we opted instead to cross the Big 4 bridge to Indiana after and ride the Ohio River Greenway to New Albany and back to Jeffersonville. This video only includes the H, B and P ride.

Virginia Creeper before Hurricane Helene
มุมมอง 5782 หลายเดือนก่อน
So glad we decided to make the drive to ride the Virginia Creeper this year because I've heard it is now a mess after Hurricane Helene. Such a beautiful trail through the countryside. Hopefully it will soon be restored to its former glory. On this group ride we had around 14 riders, mostly on recumbent trikes. This is a gravel trail through out, some wide track and some double single track. Ver...
Cardinal Greenway - Indiana
มุมมอง 7002 หลายเดือนก่อน
This will be our 2024 ride on the Cardinal Greenway in Indiana. This rail trail is about 60 miles in total length starting from the South near Richmond and North just above Muncie. It is a great trail that is lightly used so you can keep a pretty fast cadence except for the road crossings. It also has a nice mix of sun and shade along the route and restroom facilities just about every 5 miles o...
Little Miami - Xenia to Springfield
มุมมอง 4432 หลายเดือนก่อน
Xenia, OH is a must do travel destination if you want to ride bikes/trikes on designated rail trails. Xenia Station is the hub of the wheel with 5 spokes(trails) running in five directions with sufficient mileage allowing you to ride for 5 days. Xenia is still a bit short when it comes to lodging, but there is a Hampton Inn at least. The covered bridge in the thumbnail is about 8.5 miles north ...

We rode mainly the Olentangy and a bit of Scioto into downtown Columbus, OH, The downtown area is very nicely kept and a pleasure to ride through.
Last Time on the Mohican Trail
มุมมอง 4423 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is a relatively short trail that can be pieced together between the Kokosing and Holmes County trails. For me, this will be a one and done because I don't like dodging horse manure throughout the trail. Horses are allowed on the trail as a means of travel, including pulling buggies which force a rider off the trail in the name of safety. The Kokosing trail between Mount Vernon and Danville...
Kokosing Gap Trail
มุมมอง 8003 หลายเดือนก่อน
We started at the Depot trailhead in Mount Vernon, OH and proceeded on to pick up the start of the Kokosing Gap Trail at the edge of town. We rode to the end of the trail after passing through Howards Arch, a beautiful landmark needed to be seen by all. We were very impressed overall with this trail and can highly recommend it to all riders. The terrain is typical level rail trail and the scene...
Little Miami Scenic - Loveland, OH

In this video we started in Loveland, OH and road North on the Little Miami Scenic rail trail up to Oregonia. This is one of many beautiful trails that Ohio has to offer.
Park Lands-Pope Lick to Broad Run
มุมมอง 1.2K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Park Lands is an 18 mile paved trail for pedestrian and cycling use located on the East side of Louisville, KY accessed by several trailheads between Bardstown and Shelbyville roads. We prefer to start more toward the middle just off Taylorsville road at the Pope Lick Park. From there you can ride around 13 miles to the southernmost point and around 5 miles to the North. The 6 miles between...
Monon Trail - Indianapolis
มุมมอง 6K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is a full ride from the 96th street trailhead to the northern end of the Monon Trail in Sheridan, Indiana. This is one of those must do trails. We rode our recumbent trikes as usual and ended up with 38 miles this day. You can extend your mileage easily to around 50, if you ride South from 96th street toward downtown Indy and back. There are some nice places to eat in Carmel. That area is ...
South Lake Trail - Minneola, FL
มุมมอง 1.4K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
We rode with friends on the South Lake Trail from Clermont to Minneola and around Lake Minneola to the end of the trail and back. Every year that we come to ride, we include this trail mostly for the lake views. There are some stunning sunsets as it sets across the lake too. This trail connects or turns into the West Orange trail at Kilarney Station which can provide a full day of riding.
Florida; Spring to Spring, Sanford Riverwalk
มุมมอง 1.7K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
4 recumbent trike riders traveling the Spring to Spring Trail and Sanford Riverwalk in Florida. We rode from our hotel in DeBary which was conveniently next to the trail. Riverwalk runs right alongside Lake Monroe affording some lovely views as you ride. Camera: Insta360 Ace Pro Audio: Wireless DJI Mic2 Trikes: AZUB Ti-Fly 20, AZUB Ti-Fly 26, HP Scorpion 26 (2)
E Central Regional Rail Trail
มุมมอง 1.2K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
Another great Florida trail that runs between DeBary and Titusville. This is one of our favorite rides. Green Springs can also be easily accessed right from the trail and is a must see. The further East you get, the more remote it gets so make sure to take extra provisions.
Clermont to Winter Garden by Recumbent Trike
มุมมอง 2.1K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
We like to Stay at either the Home2 or Hampton Inn in Clermont because you can ride from the parking lot to the trail. The area around Clermont is hilly which is unusual for Florida, but makes for more interesting rides. If you are not staying close to the trail or traveling in to ride, I would suggest parking/starting at Kilarney Station. Time your rides so you can stop and eat at one of the m...

What a fantastic trail . So much nicer and safer than riding on the roads where you are a target for aggressive drivers .,
Nice ride and love the video quality. How do you hold the camera so steady?
Camera is mounted to my frame on an extended pole. Camera (Insta360 Ace Pro) has very good internal stabilization.
Rough trail! In the beginning it looked awesome. But, as it continued, thought it was s lost cause. Fo motser sny signage along the way. Jiw foes the ruder know that there are real roads up ahead? Do cars on the tarred roads know that there is bicycle or recumbent traffic crossing ahead? What kind of air pressure are you using in those fat tires? Your voice over is good. Could use a little more clarity about the crossovers and the bridges ahead!😊
Just made my trike purchase ❤ so happy to get on the road!
Seeing many bike riders look at you and your wife during the course of the event, it appeared that law enforcement officers were also making a point of looking at your trikes. This reminded me when I purchased my recumbent the tech that was going over my trike said people would be stopping asking me about it not having seen one before.
Enjoy your videos. I’m a little surprised that the route chosen there in Louisville wasn’t actually the most attractive
That’s a hard ride coming off a trail. Thanks for sharing.
Hi thanks for sharing your ride. I spent many summers repairing forest trails after ice storms. This hurricane damage is unimaginable. Do you have any info on the VC trail?
Try riding that trail when it is raining! Glad we had mudguards!
My fav ride ... my fav trike vid ✌
that emotor must be nice
I hope your surgery goes very well. I have watched all of the rides that you have listed, -several I have viewed repeatedly.
Awesome video. Great ride along. I used to live in Kettering OH. I love how steady and smooth your camera footage is, what do you use to mount it?
Insta360 Ace Pro using their motorcycle mount to the top bar of my seat.
Thanks for taking me with you. Enjoyed this ride.
Interesting area of narrow streets being part of the trail! Would love to spend a month ridding Ohio Trails😊
You could easily do that. Start out in Xenia first. 5 trails cross there.
@@rollingreclinerRecumbent 😊 Thanks 👍
The STILL secretive beauty of SW Ohio's trails would HUGELY envelop even experienced touring/sightseeing riders!!!
WOW, WOW, WOW!!! This Ohio Bicycle Trail Scenery was Over-The-Top beautiful! WOW, even the scenery on the bike path while at Columbus, Ohio was SO, SO beautiful! The video effort of this video was ALSO Over-The-Top beautiful too! This video literally deserves recognition for its beautiful content! Thank you, "RollingRecliner," for your showing all of us this incredible Ohio bicycle trail! SW Ohioan here. Ohio does have such beautiful bicycle trails! Ohio's trails cannot stay a secret with examples such as this beautiful bike path ride! Thank you!
Interesting trails :-)
nice ride love the speed n elevation
nice ride love the speed n elevation
The guy ahead of you has this legs extend too straight, his shoulders are rocking back and forth as he pedals. IMO. That’s an awesome group ride!!! Super nice weather too
Enjoyed the ride along. On saying hi, I've noticed on less busier trails people tend to acknowledge you, but if it's busy like the Monon, most people just keep running/walking/biking. Also, as a younger person, can confirm SFR are pretty much unaffordable after 2020.
The one redeeming virtue of horse poop (unlike waste from dogs and cats) is that horse are vegetarian in their diet.
One other thing should be noted is that they do make “pampers” for horses. In metropolitan areas where horse drawn carriages are allowed, the pampers are generally required.
Definition of a Snowflake. It’s a dual use trail and is signed as such. The horses on the trail are mostly pulling Amish buggies and are used to others on the trail. You’re weaving but I don’t see your friends doing it so much. Don’t recommend this trail? 😮 Trails are out in the environment, learn to enjoy for their unique character. Go back to the city.
I was having a bit of fun playing victom, sorry you don't get my sense of humor. I still would not recommend that particular trail for safety concerns. A skiddish horse pulling a buggy is a danger for low riding recumbent riders. Amish use the roads where we live, not recreational trails.
Can trikes fly commercial airlines? Great ride. 👍
Looks pretty flat for the most part
Pretty scenery and beautiful ride. Thanks for taking me with you.
Thanks for watching
Wish I had a nice trail system like that around me. That's a decent haul from Claremont to Lake Apopka. Do you have e assist? If so is one battery enough for that ride?
Trikes do have pedal assist. On the lowest level, you can go around 50 to 60 miles
We road the entire trail in 2023. I can't stop wanting to do it again!
1:00 "...going out of town may be alright..." Yes, for what it's worth, the Monon Trail is not dead-level. It slopes very slightly, but perceptibly, from north(higher) to south (lower), on average. You departed from the 96th street trailhead, going north (up-grade), you will have the wind in your face, but a mostly downhill run on your return trip. I hope you enjoyed your trip.
Sheridan is 230 feet higher than Broad Ripple White River bridge
I love riding the Monon. I have recorded so many hours riding this and the Vandalia Trail. When you talk about people not speaking, it is true. However you have to look at it in a different view. Many people don't speak because it is a "mind your business" attitude. People from the South don't understand it, but people from Big Cities, this is typical.
That’s my home trail I live in Carmel, Indiana. We have a lovely trail and Park system. ❤ 🚲
Another great trail ride video. We will add this to our list! Thank you for sharing. 😊
Beautiful ride. Thank you for sharing. We will add this trail to our 'to do list' 😊

Can you drive to the covered bridge?
You can't drive up to the bridge, but it's just at the edge of town (Holdingford). You could easily walk to it.
So what are you using to communicate with each other?
We use Sena cycling helmets to communicate and the sound is clear. What you hear in the video comes from DJI Mic2 and her audio has a warble that I'm trying yet to remedy. It's because her mic is in front of her body and not with a direct line to the receiver. www.sena.com/en-us/product/r1/
How long did it take you to get 19 or 20 miles
We averaged 11.4 mph. We rode 45 miles in 4 hours.
@rollingreclinerRecumbent at the moment I ride ruffly 11 miles in about 1.5 hours to work 5 days a week so that is why I ask
At 34:50 when you quoted what your wife said was that a reference to 101 Dalmatians ?
You got it. 😃
i wish i had trails like this where i live it's all road here ,
I ride that trail a few times a year
Great video, I would miss my mountain view here in Colorado Springs Colorado but if we had the money, we'd think seriously about moving to Loveland Ohio 😊
I ride this trail regularly on blades. It is one of my favorite trails. We stop at what was the old bullett factory for lunch. Awesome trail.
i just bought my trike can't wait to ride it .
Congrats!! Ride low, Ride often
Local bicycle path for me. Such a beautiful bicycle path! On weekends, Loveland looks like a Bicycle World town! Lots of bicycle-related restaurants in Loveland too! Enjoyed your video very much! Thank you for sharing!
with i had bike trails like that where i live in upstate ny . trying to get the anyone in to do anything is like pulling teeth . i don't drive i love riding bike .
On average, we drive anywhere between 2 to 3 hours for a lot of these rides. Having a trail nearby is a great asset.
Can you tell me what do you use for talking with your wife on the trip and where I can buy it we new on this we have a regular bicycle but we going to save for one of those you have I love it thank you

What brand of intercom/walkie talkie do you use? I would love to have conversations with my wife as we ride. Thanks for sharing your adventures!

@@rollingreclinerRecumbent Thank you for the response! I’m going to buy some soon.
Beautiful ride my friend ❤❤❤
Looks like a great place to exercise your recumbent trikes! In your "Minivan-Trike load" video from a year ago, mind if I ask how long the trikes are that you load into the Odyssey? My wife and I ride ICE Sprint X Tour trikes that measure about 86"-87" long, and I'm wondering about them fitting into an Odyssey. I don't have an Odyssey, nor do I know anyone who has one to try fitting them inside. How cumbersome is process of removal and re-installation of the second row seats? Thank you!
Our longest trike is 88 inches, so yours will fit. I load them at a slight angle.
