Using Cricut brand stencil vinyl, you can screen print much faster. I did a 3-color print using Speedball process magenta, yellow, and cyan mixed with transparent base to allow them to be transparent. Below are the steps to make a print using this process, if you are doing more than one color you’ll just repeat steps. Steps: 1. Create a design 2. Open your design in your vinyl cutting software ...

    Ah. I take it back. I had not noticed that you flipped it over because of the lettering. I am a bit confused as to why you wanted a green flower. Oh well. I just realized that my arthritic hands will not allow use of the carving tools.

    Geez! Save a LOT of time. Tape the block in order 'all at once'. Graphite, original design, tracing paper. NOW trace. Remove all taped items. Results? Trace original only ONCE.

    Did you let the first color dry before putting the second color on?

    Hi Jennifer did you have trouble regersting the screens with the small amount of movement

    • @SuperFennifer
      @SuperFennifer 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m no pro, and it was all trial and error, moving them slightly until they were right and then marking their placement with tape.

    hi! thank you for the tutorial, it really helps me a lot because i haven't got any clue about how to make one. but one thing i'm confused about, how can you make your wood clean again after you do the pink inking part to make a green part? did you clean it? if so, how?

    • @SuperFennifer
      @SuperFennifer 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! I used water soluble ink so I rinsed it off with water. Also I was using linoleum mounted to wood, so when I was rinsing I just made sure to keep too much water from getting on the wood as not to warp it. If you're using oil-based ink you would use mineral spirits. Some people coat their wood blocks with a layer of polyurethane after carving them, before printing with them so that the ink wipes off easier. I've used mineral spirits to remove oil-based ink from a block not coated with polyurethane before too and my block was fine. Hopes this helps and doesn't further confuse things, haha!

    how did you get it to line up correctly?

    • @SuperFennifer
      @SuperFennifer 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I lined up the transparencies on my yudu and marked their placement off with tape. I burned the screens individually with the placement from the tape. I think there are a couple videos on TH-cam that illustrated that, try looking up "multi color" or "multi layer" yudu prints. I'll try and make a video illustrating that once I'm back in town!

    you are good.. where did you get your emulson? also did you have to cover you first image in order to print the second?

    • @SuperFennifer
      @SuperFennifer 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you!! I use Diazo emulsion by speedball and a scoop coater the same size as my screen. To achieve the 2 colors I lined up the transparencies on my yudu and marked their placement off with tape. I burned the screens individually with the placement from the tape. I think there are a couple videos on TH-cam that illustrated that, try looking up "multi color" or "multi layer" yudu prints. I'll try and make a video illustrating that once I'm back in town!
