I have a Maverick with a Honda (not HD) 688cc and it’s a mini beast ,love it, still have it 3yrs now. Just added a Rouge 61” EFI Kawasaki 1000cc and it’s a beast.
Thank You...puts a new light on my purchase...
I think you made a good decision . I have a bad boy elite for 9 years now and no problems. I also have a spartan HD 61 inch for two years. The spartan key pad is junk, I hate it and will never buy another spartan mower. The parking brake is junk and the spindle bolts get loose so often that I ended up tack welding them so they would not back off. Thanks for your video
I just bought a Rogue. The tank showed about half full. I ran it for an hour or so and it was down close to empty. I only had about 4 gallons so I put that in it and it was back up to half. The tank on the Rogue is 13 gallons so it is clearly not a linear tank. Looking at the way they stuff the tanks into the sides, it make sense. It is just something to get used to. I'll try running it out one day with a known amount of fuel and see where that leaves me.
Obviously, any mower that does the job is a good mower, however, run very far away from anyone who says bad boy or country clipper is better than exmark.
I must agree Bad Boys look so well planned and thought out for being serviced. Eye Candy to me always gets my attention.
ASSEMBLED IN AMERICA ONLY. LESS THAN 20% OF THESE MOWERS IS MADE OR MANUFACTURED IN THE USA. MIGHT ONLY BE 10%.
Spartan could have been great if they didn't have all of that electronic crap on them! What happens when it quits running or won't start? It's off to the dealer! And what happens in a few years when they stop making the circuit board or component ya need?
I just bought a m Maverick HD and the salesman witch was the owner of the place told me not to engage the deck at low speed because the belt will flap and can break the belt , it has a soft start he said only engage it when the engine is at full speed .
I have the Bad Boy Maverick HD. Same engine. Only difference is I have the 54 inch cut. No issues so far. No belt issue at all. But I believe that I will pick up a belt tension gauge, just to keep an eye on that. I will say that my fuel gauge isn't accurate either. But I just make sure that I keep plenty of fuel in it.
Bad boy used to be a very reasonable priced mower they were like 4500. Now there way more expensive but have improved, but kinda cheaply made thin metal especially in the rear
Toro has owned Exmark since ‘97. They share the same frame and powertrain setups but they have much different deck designs. Exmark still builds all of their own units in Beatrice, NE.
That tongue feels like sand paper fr lol
Bud Light is gay.
Any updates?
Have Scag, no problems so far….
Just bought a bad boy avenger 54" from a dealer..awesome mower!
I have a toro groundsmaster 54 that was built about 1979. Bought it in 1989 for $100, with a snow blower. Had to fix the steering and replace a belt. Still have the mower and it still performs like day one. GREESE ZIRTS! EVERYWHERE. It has a cast iron 16hp briggs. Spent $250 15 years ago to have that engine rebuilt. Wonderfull mower.
Never get rid of it. Old mower's are peak tech.
No kolar motor for me
Drunk
I’ve owned my Maverick HD with the 779ci Honda for two years now and love it! So far it’s been trouble free and easy to maintain. Lawn mowin’ beast!
I live rural and had John Deere’s for over 30 years. My neighbor has a Bad Boy and I was very impressed watching him mow his 2 acres. I purchased the Elite 54” deck last October 2023 and it was just great and very dependable and made in America ……….👍🇺🇸
Never had an issue
I have a JD Z530M, only got 3 hours on it so far. If I don't like it. I might sell it and get a bad boy 😊
With Bad Boy mowers be prepared for a few teething problems. After 1-2 months of fixing small problems I’ve never had another problem. I have the 60” Elite with power lift deck. I wish it had the ground tracking front pivot axle for some rough terrain I have. I’ve kept my old MTD ZT 54 for that reason.
I need a halter that small any recommendations ?
Have a new Holland workmaster 25s with 60 in deck. This is only 4yo and is the biggest piece of s#@$+t that we ever had is in the shop all the time.We are now looking at the bad boys so liked your videos.
And I'll be buying an Ariens Ikon for the same reason.
Why in the world would you buy an Ariens? You may as well get a DR or heck, why not buy a Husqvarna and get a chain-saw for free? What innovation do they bring to the table? You're going to throw away thousands for what? Get a Bad Boy, Country Clipper, or Hustler.
@@FliGuyRyan I have an ariens sno-thro that was made in 1965 and still starts on the first pull. The thing is built like a tank and I imagine it will still be running long after your bad boy has bit the dust. One tends to stick with brands that have lasted a long time for themselves. It's my money and I'll spend it on what I want to, lol. Oh, and just so you know, my current lawn tractor is a Poulan Pro 46" (Made by Husqvarna) I bought new in 2010 and it currently has 419 hours on it and fires right up and all I've ever done to it is general maintenance.
@Rebel9668 then buy Ariens. All I'm saying is that there isn't a lot of innovation and features for your money. They also own Gravely, which, I also would never buy, for the exact same reason. Family company... fantastic. They're lacking innovation. *this response has been financially supported by the WEF and George Soros.
How’s the power on that 730 ?
Advise avoid badboy. They have the worst customer service (out of Arkansas) that you can imagine. Absolutely no checks and balances from corporate as to how they handle customer complaints. Calls are not recorded and there are only five people who answer the phone. Galvin is main guy and very rude. Imagine how that trickles down.
Not saying you are wrong but service issues on mowers tractors cars boats etc are handled by the dealers not the manufacturer. Anyone that knows anything about tractors mowers etc will tell you to buy from the best dealer because equipment needs serviced and the equipment is only as good as the dealer.
Wait until you need tires. My maverick needed a new tire and it was $179.
Yeah... Let's Go Brandon!
Can’t hear you for the freaking chickens but have had a bad boy Mower for several years and I love it.
Time for a chicken bbq
Have owned my Bad Boy Maverick HD for two years now.. 54” deck with Honda engine. No issues. Would buy it again. Previous mowers have always been John Deere. Last one was a X345R. Quality was going down with Deere over the years. Way too much money for what they give you. You will be very happy with your choice.
Ever since COVID and the great scamdemic, quality control has waned!
Opus looks like a good boy.
BADBOY MOWERS AND SPARTAN MOWERS ARE ABOUT THE SAME MOWER. THE TWO COMPANIES CAME FROM ONE. THERE WERE TWO PEOPLE THAT STARTED THE BADBOY BRAND. ONE OF THEM STARTED SPARTAN MOWERS.
Uh no... they're not. Toro bought Spartan. Case closed... I would NEVER buy a Toro/eXmark product. And now Spartan is off the list.
Made in Arkansas!
Do you think the unit makes abnormally loud noise? Test cut with a ZT Elite and it was obnoxious compared to the JD Z500s. I thought the JD had a more professional finished cut whereas I thought the ZT Elite was more built like a tank.
Between you talking so low and the wind and the chickens and roosters and you talking so low and the WIND you are impossible to hear most everything you are saying!!!!! So there is not really any point in watching your video!!! Maybe you should review your content before you edit and post it, just saying!! Not much information when you can't hear it!!! Go inside away from the wind, chickens, rosters and learn to talk before you make any more videos, PLEASE, it sounds like you may have some useful info. but we can't hear it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe you need better speakers with better dynamic range. I have no issues.
Are you still happy with it and the belt?
I have owned a Bad-boy Pup since 2007. It is a beast. Change the oil. Rebuilt the Deck bearings.
Toro bought spartan as well and I heard they are ditching the key pad and going with regular ignition like all the other mowers got with the 2024 models I believe
I have the same mower after a lot of homework. I’ve had it for a year now and it has been excellent. No regrets.
Just watched your video, I've had the ET Elite for a couple years and it's been flawless, but what really interested me was the fact that you live in Summertown, we live there as well, and I purchased my mower from Billy at H&R… We live near the new Dollar General, it's a small world isn't it…
check your idler pulleys next time your belt is off. Spin them a bit, you'll hear it if it's bad. I had one go out on my Maverick at 12hrs. Other than that, no problems.
I’d be really concerned if my new machine threw a belt and another had also, That’s a not fit for purpose for me- get out now!
I’ve operated a few ZT Mowers and my priorities start with a quality seat, then an easy lift deck with pedal to lift over the gravel road or the hose or the clump that has bunched at the front or to avoid scouring whilst turning. Having a dealer close is invaluable! Didn’t think the a fuel gauge would matter until I one that didn’t have one. Ensure the your mower will pass your gates. ZTs are fantastic machines but some are better than others. Perhaps pedal lift is number one!
nice review. about ready to get one
