Hey Colleen!! All is well? No part 2 and 3...
Hi! How do you keep the liftgate open without draining the battery?
You have such a cute personality!
Thank you!! 😊
😂😂😂😂flicker, though
Hahaha!!! 😂
hows this system holding up with a bit of testing? Looks great!
It worked great this past summer!! Made some adjustments with magnets with rubber coating as to not scratch the roof of the car:) works well for what it’s intended to do. Cheap and easy!! 👍🏻
I have a 2023 CX-5. it doesn't have a problem with hump, I haven't started car camping, and I probably won't until November. By the way, I live in Florida, so I'll need to wait for the weather to cool down a bit."
That’s awesome! There is definitely a rise where the seats bend. And I 100% feel it. No longer now since I made a platform. Sleeping flat makes all the difference:) enjoy it!!
You are an amazing soul! Appreciate you and the information you impart. Hope 2024 has been your year and continues to be. God bless you, young lady. Camp on and camp well!!
So many thank to you 💜 appreciate your comment!
Very helpful video, thanks for sharing. (Learning from all the additional tips in comments). Happy camping🍀
Yes as do I, comments have helped me so much:) appreciate the comment 💜
Link to window covers? I have an suv now I’m working on
The material ones for air ventilation? Or the black out ones for all windows. Need to search for specific suv. I do not have a link but give me a bit. Will see what I can find.

@@colleenventures oh ok I have can search it up I want the blackout ones
I’d go give someone five bucks for a can of butane just to have it I’d be upset too(of course if the store wasn’t there)
Yes!! I was willing to pay anything lol need my coffee ☕️ haha! 😆 rookie mistake at the time
Nice job! My 2023 CX-5 came with black wheels. I would slap my grandma for those silver ones.
Ok 👍🏻 you do you! Slap away!
Where and how do you go to the bathroom? I’m 62 and am wondering if I chose to do this as well in a SUV?
Hello there:) so for me, going to the bathroom inside my car is just not something I want to do lol it amazes me those that do. I choose a camp spot close to a washroom and go right before bed. So much access to washrooms. If I have to go at night, I just go outside. I’m not usually somewhere that I would be scared to be outside. Some use big coffee jars( plastic) and squat etc. I just feel that’s not for me. I avoid too much liquid prior to bed. Mini vans can have room for a small toilet. Hope that helps:) thanks so much for watching
I saw your older videos and I’ve been wanting to get into camping what would you say are some of the essentials? I’m looking to do a no build setup on my jeep commander kind of like how you did on the Mazda thanks😊
Good morning, honestly a good platform to sleep on( comfy bed) , some cooking equipment. Cheap 30$ butane stove is all I use. I gathered extra cooking stuff from what I already had at home. Lawn chair:) I started just going to local campgrounds and just trial and error. A small power supply is a good idea as well, if keeping phones charged. Inside a vehicle a USB fan is needed, some window covers as well either home made with reflectix or purchased on Amazon to fit your make and model. Good sleep/ good food/ staying cool or warm depending on weather. All you need. I believe staying where you feel safe as well:) happy to answer any more questions. Check out my new videos. Hoping to get part 2 out soon of my road trip. Cheers
Oh and a cooler for food:)
@@colleenventures Hi thank you for the fast and detailed response, it seems I already have most of the required stuff (minus a few things I can order) , I just gotta get out there, see how it goes and learn from it I suppose!😊 And I will be sure to check out your new videos as I love outdoor activities camping fishing etc :) thanks again
Thanks
Your welcome 🤗
I'm planning on visiting my friend in Pennsylvania this September. When I bought my Mazda CX 5, the first thing I thought of was, "I bet I could go camping in this thing!" Little did I know other people were already doing it! I have almost everything ready and waiting in my spare room. I have an "America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass". I can camp in our national parks for free! What a deal! Oh, and I'm 71 years old. I'm taking my little dog with me too. I'll write to you when I get back. I can't wait for my adventure to begin!
Amazing!!! Yes let me know how it goes!! How exciting, any help needed just ask:)
Amazing! I also just bought a cx5 and stumbled onto this page because I’d like to do some solo camping as well.
I wouldn't want anything bigger than a Class B but these are beautiful.
Agreed!! 👍🏻 my future for sure a class B
Reminder: 1. Wind may cause the tarps to flutter a bit. Possible paint scratches. Solution: Double-sided tape to hold felt fabric strips to tarp at potential contact points. Larger piece of felt may come in handy for roof area as well. Prevents scratches!!! And, it’s cheap. 2. Wind may also cause the magnets to shift! Solution: Suction cups with hooks (AMAZON). Safe Journeys to ya!
Thank you!! Yes I did purchase some suction cups!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
The best channels like this are the ones where people show the truth about how they are feeling, share their learning journey, and acknowledge that things aren't always magical. You have that nailed. Don't change if you hit the big time. Cheers from southernmost Canada.
Best compliment ever!! Made my day! Thank you ☺️
Go to a bike shop and ask for throw-away flat tire tube. Cut it open and cut a circle to match your magnet. Then see if the magnet still has enough grip with the rubber between the car and the magnet. If you're happy with it, glue the rubber on with some E6000 or similar glue.
Great idea!! 💡 love it thanks!! 😊
Why would you camp alone knowing how fucked up the world is and how many people go missing . You’re ASKING for trouble. Ain’t worth it
Appreciate the concern, I’m camping at designated camp spots. I’m not doing back country stuff deep in the wilderness. I enjoy camping and either I go by myself or I don’t go at all which is not how I want to live my life. Cheers 🇨🇦
You can replace the regular nuts on the magnets with wing nuts to make it easier to take on and off. You can get them at a local hardware store. Just bring the magnet with you to get the proper size. I would also add a washer between the grommet and the nut.
Brilliant idea!! 💡 I will do that!!
There are channels that teach knots but I would recommend a bushcraft channel to learn more skills for the outdoors. @CoalcrackerBushcraft is my favorite for short, concise and useful information but there are tons of channels to choose from. That second setup looked better, but you want to be able to open your doors with your tarp up and I'm not sure that you could. If you can find one, I picked up a 6' x 20' white tarp I found and I love it for a couple of reasons: 1. It's white, so it reflects the sun and makes it true shade and cooler underneath and 2: It's long enough that I can park nose toward the sun (ideal) and have tarp on either side of my rig. The third reason is related to the first reason and that's color. Blue tarps are ubiquitous, but blue is the favorite color of most (all?) insects, including mosquitoes. I recommend avoiding blue camping gear (and clothing) like the plague. P. S. You have a cute cat! If he's not already harnessed trained, I recommend starting as soon as possible. Cats love to explore the outdoors as well.
Thank you so much for all the amazing information, it’s so greatly appreciated. Yes I have been trying, but he’s not loving it lol keep trying lol 😂

Hmm on not sure how to do the comparison to cdn vs USA. Thanks for info. Need to move my decimal point over!! Thanks for the comment:) appreciate it
Ok so that is about 172.2 L here. I just need to move decimal over thx 🙏🏻
😅
😂😂😂
He’s a cutie!! 🥰
My goodness Canada is purely beautiful. I have got to find a way to come up there! Great video, thank you so much for sharing!! Can't wait to see Part 2. Huge red flag with that guy. I hope that was the last you saw/see of him!
Yes you need to come to Canada 🇨🇦 let’s go camping!! ⛺️ lol yes agreed, he was not thinking 🤔 straight. on walking in without my consent. I will gladly talk to most people, and chat you up, but that was weird. It was a fairly busy area so that’s good/ others around. 🥰thanks for the comment
@@colleenventures When I get up that way, you'll be first on my list to contact!! 😁
Amazing 🤩
Also NO it is not normal to walk into a campsite looking for wood when there is clearly someone there. Ya…weird. I’m glad you let him know to get out
Yes my thoughts exactly 👍🏻
Post #2: Can you even believe people sometimes? On this trip, I found a nice site at a nearly empty campground. Me and one other person. Right before my son came up, a family of around 15 pulled in right next to me! Who DOES THAT? You had the WHOLE SITE! They had screaming kids, loud adults, and two barking pit bulls. I won't go into that, but I have a Pug and son brought up French Bulldog, and we were just uncomfortable with how uncontrolled the dogs were. Luckily with the easy car camping set up we both have, it was no big deal to move across the campground. But you just have to wonder what the hell people are even THINKING??
That truly baffles me!! Such strange behaviour. It’s like parking lots, they park right beside you yet it’s completely empty. Wild to me!! Thank you for your comments as always 🙏🏻💜
Thank you to all who have subscribed ❤ it means a lot to me.
I have heated seats, and I'm sure I use those more than I would AC seats, but very nice! This time of year, the swamp butt is real! Another long response, coming, sorry. Was going solo up to Muddy Mountain near Casper WY this past weekend. Managed to make it up there with NO cash for the camp site. I am 100% stashing at least a $20 in my glove box from now on. Our card society has me rarely carrying cash. Not only that, can you believe I didn't look at my gas tank before I left? Got up there with .25 tank. My head was not screwed on all the way last weekend. It's about 45 minutes from home, but still. Lucky had some wifi, messaged son that I'd made it but might not be staying, depending on whether the ranger came to run me off. Son said "Sigh. Well it was SUPPOSED to be a surprise, but I'm headed up and I'll bring cash." I have such a great kid! That said, the site was out of pay envelopes, and no ranger ever came through to collect, so I'd have been fine, but was still thrilled with my son's company. I am so glad you are showing the drive you did on that steep road. That is the crap that gives me INTENSE driving anxiety and I have got to find a way to work through it. The road to our closest campsite is almost as scary looking as that, and I am seriously ridiculous about it. I had to take it about 10mph hugging the inside all the way down last weekend. If someone big coming up had met me, I would have probably been crying getting over to the edge to let them by. I need to find a way to overcome this!
Your son is so amazing 🤩 what a kid!! Yes I forgot a few things that I ideally needed on this trip. I love your long comments 💜 and so appreciate you.
If your not able to protect yourself maybe you should not be there alone
Just showing my experiences, thanks for your input
Get a big dog or a gun if you are out alone in the woods. You can’t expect people to not come near you because you are a “female on your own.”
Bro, why does that cat have a main?-its cute, don’t get me wrong but..
Ah he had to get a haircut as he got into some stuff that would not come out of his very fine fur. Thanks for your comment
Great video! Entertaining and educational!
Glad you enjoyed it! 💜💜⛺️
