@DK-ys9yn yeah, the twin barely breaks up at 8 on the volume so you can get loud clean for days

It's not that loud for bedroom practice, but you will probably get complaints if you live in an apartment

i wanted a tube amp

Both super reverbs I bought at long and McQuade and I both financed them (monthly payments) currently paying off the Tube Super Reverb

@@IHurricaneWhy didn’t you buy one used? I saw a tonemaster super for $1400 at long and mcquade a couple months ago but didn’t have the money to buy it. I’m hoping some super lucky deal will come up or some garage sale super for like $500 haha

in the long run the tube one would be better because of what you said about repairing it and stuff, but the tonemaster has that attenuation built in.<< that was the reason i got the Tone Master in the first place. i even traded my old fender blues junior for it and did monthly payments for it. but if i lived in a town or city i would go for the tone master. and when i cranked that tonemaster outside the neighboring houses roughly 1 km radius can hear it clear but faintly so yeah no problem with noise for the TMSR lol I would recommend going for the tonemaster and if you really love that amp you can go for the tube:)

@user-bn4wo9op8h it's very faint like little to no difference you can still get that super reverb sound, just the reverb on the tube is a little bit more powerful but other than that they're the same

When I was sitting there, I was amazed at how the tone Master sounded in comparison to the tube virtually the same, and on .5 watt it sounds nice and compressed squishy sounding on 6 to 8

Wow thank you so much! I was really leaning towards the tube version just because I didn’t think the tonemaster could live up to it. Mathew Scott says it isn’t that good, but after hearing your videos I would like to think otherwise. I really appreciate all the help, I’ll probably be going for the tonemaster because I live in the city, I live in winnipeg though so I would like to think our walls are pretty insulated lol.

they both sound similar to each other at that volume. but the tube sr has more touch sensitive feel and dynamic where as the tonemaster can do that too but just not at the level as the tube can but when i side by side compare them when picking hard they virtually sound the same, just a few eq differences, and the tonemaster doesnt have a harsh digital sound to it. The one thing I might add though, the tonemaster at around 6 or 7 (the sweet spot) is night and day compared to 6 or 7 on the tube. The dynamics on the tube at that volume are unmatched for the tmsr, the tmsr is sterile-ish at that level and kind of lacks the compression that you would get on the tube. The volume coming from the amp is the same. the settings on the tube amp was: Vol 7 1/2, Treble 8, Mid 1, Bass 5. then on the Tonemaster was" Vol 8, Treble 8, Mid 2, Bass 5 1/2. I dont remember if the bright caps were on but I know the Tube had it on idk about the tmsr. the tmsr was running on the full 45watt mode. both had jenson p10r speakers. the speakers on the tmsr were well broken in already from 2 years of playing the speakers on the tube are still in progress of being broken in the tube takes pedals better than the tmsr.

at 3:39 is the tone master only on at 4:22 is the tube only

Thanks so much! I recently demoed a Tonemaster at a guitar store, it sounded amazing but it didn’t overdrive as much as it does here. I guess cranking it also brings in some speaker distortion
