Bee Network’s Final Takeover: Manchester's Franchising Model Explained
On January 5th 2025, the Publicly controlled Transport for Greater Manchester took over the last of Manchester's privatised buses, bringing it under the 'Bee Network' brand. This is the first time that an English city has brought its buses back into public control after their deregulation in the 1980s. In this video we'll discuss what this takeover means for passengers, the history of buses in Manchester, and the Bee Network's role in creating an integrated transport network fit for the future!
