You missed a step. After excavation and before footers. You should use aggregate such as pea gravel for adequate drainage.
It's not a requirement by building code in our area. However, in wet areas or basements I would highly recommend a french drain around the footers. Thanks for your comment.
Awesome!
Building new here without putting a basement in is kind of foolish. Crawl spaces are more trouble than they're worth.
What about one with a basement?
I'm from the US Northeast. I prefer a basement.
Na don't move here
False. The Fall is the best movie in the world, released in 2005 and directed by Tarsem Singh!
Get that hip checked buddy .
Hips Ok, knees have a little wear on them! Thanks for watching..
lets hope the main water shut off valve works because the toilet one eventually won't.
Never seen a main electrical disconnnect in a breaker panel. It is always "calll the utility to disconnect." Is that new code? Or just on new construction since ?2010?
And #6, your gas meter shut off valve (and its wrench)
Haha so glad the water shut off is in the wall 😅
wait till you see the phone shut off, its handy for the scammers.
simple and to the point, well done
If you need to explain this in the first place, those people should not be working on anything.
So were you just born with the knowledge of where everything in a BRAND NEW HOUSE is? Please explain because I thought he did a great job explaining where and what the shutoffs did for a BRAND NEW HOMEOWNER. Stop being an asshole just because someone knows less than you
@Grizzlyhunter99 so someone who needs be told to turn a breaker off should work on anything electrical. Apparently, I just think later than you. That's not a reflection of me being wrong...but rather you being slow.
PEX stubouts? Gross.
Strongly agree
Should have also shown the main gas valve at the meter.
New construction house and the water lines for the sink come up out of the floor instead of out of the wall? Pretty damn crooked to boot.
Do not shut off your electric by using the main breaker. Instead use the individual breakers for the branch circuit that you are working on. Flipping the main breaker turns off the power to your entire home at once. This sudden interruption can cause an arc within the main breaker resulting in damage and possibly preventing the main from being reset. If you must turn off the main breaker, you should shut off each branch circuit breaker individually until they are ALL turned off. Then and only then would it be safe to flip the main breaker. When you're returning power to the home, reverse this procedure. Turn the main on first, then each branch circuit individually. Additionally, there is a main gas valve located adjacent to the gas meter that will shut off all the gas to your home. If you smell gas, call 911.
If you have an electrical emergency this is the quickest way to kill the power, however, if you only need to kill one circuit I agree. Turning the gas off at the meter typically allows the gas company to lock out services, such as nonpayment. Thanks for your input and watching.
Saved! We had a major situation at my Grandma’s a couple of years ago-water pouring out in the garage in HUGE bucket amounts. Had to call my dad, who sent me to main water shut-off until he could get there and repair it. Everyone should see this!
They should show this to all tenants at move in.
Pointless
Add sound proof insulation in the interior walls and high r value insulation in the floor, exterior walls and ceiling. Trust me on that one.
Bonus room lol you just described a room short of the walls and ceiling. Also f*ck realtors and all the people scamming money off human beings seeking shelter
That's called a master bedroom lol
New builds are such over priced garbage. I hope you’re happy with the money you make off of ripping people off.
Radon gas?? Why you building homes in Chernobyl... lmfao.
Lol - when you dig into the earth there are certain off gases from decomposing minerals and Radon is one of those which are hazardous to humans. Thanks for watching.
@@DaleFrazellNewConstruction Listen bud, I built houses for over 20yrs, and NEVER have I had to install RADON Gas leakage pipes. Like I said You building over Chernobyl.. lmfao!
@@deliman7203 It's required by the building code.
Egress windows are a newer requirement. Because at some point the basement will get finished.
I like the term "man door"
I never see a basement in my life that has windows with ladders for egress huh
Not ever 😂😂😂
You need if they are bedrooms in case of a fire
@@scottjohnston8016 Yeah and then the dumbarse home owner installs security grate over the windows.
I pee on gravel more than you’d like to know..
Humm, in my state, anchor bolt washers need to be 2x2…
Bill Belichick building houses now?
Why pea gravel. 2b is cheaper
All I notice as a stair guy is that wall that’s going to get a terrible flat cap next to the stairs instead of a nice open stringer with the balusters landing on the treads.
Have fun cleaning the ceiling from the grill
Dale Frazell New Construction Real Tour, nice video keep it up
That would be called blocking not backing
Glad to see you used lumber as backing not some osb b.s.
I use Advantec pocket screwed. Plenty strong and less missing insulation
Doorways vs furniture is something no one ever considers
Needs to be done at design not during construction.
8’ tall garage doors always
None of those things will be changed by the builder
Where is the dumbwaiter?
And number six, make sure your builder glues and screws all stairs and landings so they aren’t squeaky 10 years from now.
The shower head will be loose you should run out 12" of copper then you strap clamp and make it solid
blocking for a tv, only 2 feet higher than where they will mount it. perfect.
... 2 words.... tread mill ...
If you are going to have an RV garage, have a sewer connection and use the RV as a guest house when parked in the garage. Drain for washing car 220 EV chargers / welding / compressor, etc. Skylights AND windows Tons of LED lights
The thing I love most about buying houses outside of America is that our walls are made of wall. Like, the entire wall - it's just wall-to-wall wall instead of specific little narrow strips.
Thank you sir.
Most welcome
