It's all so very strange , this journey I have been on . For decades I was under the illusion that he was BLIND . The story was that he joined the forces fighting the Brits and was shot in the head early on and lost his sight as a result of his injuries. He was taken home by relatives and it was then that he started to see his visions which he would dictate to a relative who would write them down. Indeed a few years later I had a strange incident in which I was hit with a computer virus that changed all the writing on my web browser to strange characters that I couldn't read. I opened one of the links and a strange story came up. It takes place in 1905. The Brits impose onerous conditions on the Boers. No more than three are allowed to congregate except for work etc. Permits are even required for church mass and this is deeply unpopular. The church elders meet in secret and a plot is hatched. They go to the Brits and ask for permission to hold a prayer vigil in Lydenburg in the eastern Transvaal to pray for their dead. The Brits relent and travel permits are issued to all those who wish to attend. It's here that the story takes on a surreal tone.
