I mean I understand that if it doesn’t work for you than it doesn’t work. I come home and plug in easily really not that much time added maybe and extra 3-5 secs after getting out of my car. And I traveled 2000miles this month you kinda just have to plan a little bit better like extra 15 mins unless you get the long range but yeah I get it

Well the other part of Tesla is solar and if you get this in your house you are not paying for any electricity. That’s my goal at least I’m getting this solar power charger for Tesla

Problem is Tesla made Tesla at low quality on purpose. Elon even noted in podcast he admires and wants the iPhone model where people throw away their cars every 2-4 years and get a new one like they do with their phones (since it cost so much repair)

Maintenance on a Tesla? I haven’t don’t any since I’ve just had the car for a month but I’ve heard it’s just rotating tires and getting new tires and air filters and that’s it. The battery is under warranty for 120k miles or 8 years so it’s free. Also Tesla is making their own builds so that way they can recycle the batteries but yes the world is not fair and a convenience for one is an inconvenience for someone else. Idk I’m just interested in self sufficient sources of fuel. Like what if they stopped refueling the gas stations? And they made everyone pay more? Idk I bought this really cool solar charger for my car and now it’ll just be free.

If you don’t mind what podcast was this would like to listen to that haven’t heard of that but would like to see what he means. Also if so they are working on a 15-25k car so idk maybe it can work. I plan on keeping my car for a bit

Unfortunately we are still kinda at the front tier of ev so we are paying a bit higher prices at the moment. If you keep your model Y for 5-8 years I think it’s worth it bc if you do sale it you’ll still get back 20-30k depending on certain things of course. But teslas mission is to make their cars mass market so they are working on a car that will cost 20-25k. In the next 20ish years will see these prices drop significantly. I didn’t mind bc I love Tesla and wanted to try them out.

Yes charge time would be a factor but it only takes 8-14mins or so for 0-80 percent charge. I’m already at the gas station 5-10 mins using the bathroom,getting drinks, or waiting on others that are with me. My Tesla does 272 and it can do a 2 hour roadtrip no stop if it’s at 100% and will be left with 22%ish or so. If you want a tip that I wish I would have known is 80-100% will never really be touched and if so you’ll do that at the start of the roadtrip. But if you want fast charge you’ll only be going to 80% bc it doesn’t take that long if not it’ll be a 25-30 min wait. So just get the long range model and if you charge to 80 you’ll have 272 which is my 100% in this car. I guess just depends if you really are on the road a lot or not. And if you want the extra range just wait a bit more and you’ll have 341 miles.

Maybe it is different in USA, and the price difference is not that big between a ICE and EV, but for me in northern Europe, getting a EV a lot more expensive car. And the price difference, gets me a lot of fuel. The calculation gets even more in favour of the ICE car if you change car every 3year.

Well I hope that things will get better. Evs are still brand new and we are kinda still in the front tier of things so when the tech gets cheaper things will get better

Thank you and yes people just lack the knowledge and keep bringing up early ev problems/questions. People will learn soon and most people will have ev’s rather than Ice vehicles. I think people hate change a this is a big change for a lot of people that’s why some refuse to get one. Until you drive a Tesla. I converted my brothers and my best friend into wanting a Tesla 😭😭

@@EddyGoesTesla that's right. Those who complain the most don't own one or just come up with tons of excuses cuz they can't afford it. Also, they lump all EVs together, that's like saying a Hyundai or a GM is the equivalent of a Toyota. That and the political narrative that goes along with owning an EV. I'm still learning how to use mine and customize it to my taste. By the way, insurance is no more than your ICE. Shopping around can save you tons.

Also a lot of them don't even work at certain times of the Day this has been a complaint for many people here. Also I never seen a gas vehicle randomly combust into flames. Unlike EVs. I understand how you can see it that way but they put these things out in the public intended for people to use them. If they didn’t want people to use them why would they have them? I’ve seen others use them to charge their phones or whatever yeah it’s not a crazy amount but my 12 amp isn’t a crazy amount either.

@@EddyGoesTesla the electronics… mainly the screen but also heat degradation of the capacitors is a major problem.

Yeah its what i noticed because on my roadtrip last weekend it wanted to take me through a city and it would have ended with 41% but high was with 23%

@@EddyGoesTesla Thanks for updating your title! I appreciate that you are new and learning. I've now thumbed up and subbed. I too have 12.3.6 currently and use it from time to time but only in situations where there's a low chance of other drivers honking at me. Learning each FSD version's idiosyncrasies is half the fun, challenge and frustration. The other half is learning where to use it so that it isn't more stressful than just regular driving. Tesla's progress is exciting. The cars are learning. The frequent software updates are fun to look forward to.

Agree the new software is amazing to look at. It's like eye candy for me every time I drive. I was lucky enough to start with this new update so i cant say much about the older one. Yes seeing how the car handles itself in certain situations is cool to watch. For me it mainly works everywhere but the parking lot and maybe some less know roads and it tends to be fairly slow at times but thats when ill come in and teach it to go a bit faster. Kinda like teaching a teenager to drive:)

I just wanted to challenge fsd a bit and see what it was going to do. It freaked out but I’m not hating on the tech I enjoy it and use it every day. I was testing how good it is at figuring stuff out on its own because it learns by data. Yeah I know any other car would have died and exploded 😭

not the point, a true FSD will have human intuition and figure itself out. Remember level 5 FSD will mean that it can go on completely new terrain and figure its way just like humans do.

Well yes it will be human like from just seeing the situation but it is able to learn from all the data that tesla is putting in to it. Yes it will be able to go anywhere in the world and figure out how to drive but one of the biggest factors why is the data. Elon said that he believes once they have around 6 billion miles recorded that FSD will fully be autonomous.

if it's got GPS data why shouldn't it be able to find it's way out

we all have our own things we enjoy in life fortunately or unfortunately I wanted to try out Tesla and see if the hype was real or not. Well in my opinion the hype is real I recommend you buy one if you don’t already have one. What we have to remember is this is the crappist it’ll be from now on.

Great question to fully trust I say 1-5 years. I really don’t have to intervene that much. It just so happened that when I recorded it does that but I use this thing everyday and feel safe. I believe we are closer than people believe we are

No unfortunately this is still 12.3 so that’s why I’m not upset but it’s good to know what the differences could be after.
