where did you get your replacement metal from?

I thunk you need to install the floor pan first and tie that in to the fender support. Also, your hinge pins and bushings probably need to be replaced.

i watched several other 'adjust yout belt' videos. you are the only fella to explain why the shims are so important and how to use them. so you got my follow. I'm looking forward to more good help. i drive a '70 daily. its unrestored so i get to pretend I'm a mechanic from time time. y'all ride carefully.

This is the best video on nose replacement on youtube. You take the time to describe the details. I have my old nose off and fitting the new nose, and I can confirm it take some patience bending and fitting. I like the idea of notching the bottom airbox to tack weld in place instead of drilling for plug welds. I am also considering panel bond for the top of that air box but I can't see how I can set that and do all the other stuff fast enough before the panel bond sets up.

Great work! What did you use over the welds for the cab corner and rocker patching? It's a darker grey than the rest of the panel and looks like it helped smooth and blend the roughness from the rocker welds. Thanks!

Great job putting this square body back together because there was not much there to work with. I have owned and still own several of these and one thing they seem to have in common are water leaks when it rains coming from under the windshield area and running down the face of the kick panels causing it to get wet under the floor covering and rust out. might be something to check on this one next time it does.

Love how you focus the cam on what you are explaining and going into such detail. Maybe you can do a short vid of your style and process of actually welding in the panels....if not done already

I had the pleasure of meeting Mark a few years ago when he did some minor body and engine work on my '67 Bug. Very knowledgable and a very, very nice man. I've since sold my Bug, and since I live relatively nearby, I'm thinking of another VW purchase...knowing Mark is close to help me with whatever the car may need. I love your youtube videos Mark! Thank you for your comments about that even the better quality panels aren’t perfect either. I purchased the rear valance of my 73 Westy and I had to modified it so that it would fit properly. Also I purchased a rear engine bay piece I was missing and literally I was able to only use a very small part to of the part because it was no fitting well either.

I am in the middle of this exact repair on my 1977. However it didn't look like I had a center rocker. Did they change this in the late bays to your knowledge?
