Good video but I like to see the results. Anyone can mess with the interface [rules] but the result needs to be shared for better understanding. You did not show the equipment used either. Especially, since I'm experiencing only the Nest mini speakers that work. The actual Google Home speaker does not work with TTS via chromecast.

Odd. My transition does not do anything at all, and it also doesn't show under the Device choices in a Dashboard button.

What's the name of the female voice. My wife despises the default male voice.

Does the nest integration still work? I have not been able to figure out how to add it to hubitat.

Just saw your back on YT again. Great to see you back! I happen across this video because I'm trying to do a factory reset on my C7-hub because I moved over to Home Assistant about 3 months ago. I plan on selling my hubs ( I have two C-5 and one C-7) and needed to rest them. Thanks for showing how to do the soft reset, I already removed all my zigbee and z-wave devices and actually turned of their radios. Less interference when adding device over to HA. Thanks again for this video, it helped me out! Take care!

Can you make a video on combining presence sensors

I LOVE Lutron Caseta! I doubt I ever use another product. Caseta has been completely reliable on both their app and Hubitat. They let you make every switch a X-way. How cool is that? Yes, they cost more than other products but their reliability is awesome and a couple years later I can't even tell you what I spent. The cost difference is insignificant to me at this point. Your video started somewhat apologetic about deciding to limit your automation in the previous home. I'm at that same point. I'm fine with my current level even though I could do tons more. I spent a career in IT and a long time ago decided I wouldn't automate something for the sake of automation. To me, that's silly. Hubitat has let me automate my life far enough for my tastes. Wife acceptance factor has been terrific and she's not techy. Best wishes on the new home projects. Thanks for the video.

When setting up the Noaa weather tile...what template do you choose? I don't an alert template.

I notice this tutorial was for Rule Machine 2.5. The UI looks so different from the Hubitat of today (2021) with RM 5.1!

What's the upper limit on the number of rows and columns? I'm wondering if scaling those up affects load times adversely (even if cells are empty).

I'm assuming that Transitions are primarily intended for scenes involving Dim Level on one or more bulbs. But what if they don't? What if Scene A locks a door, for instance, and Scene B sets the volume on Alexa? Does the Hubitat display any kind of warning that the Scenes don't share a common device and/or are not amenable to fine-grained changes? Just curious.

Hubitat seems to have created a sleek controller with a somewhat fumbly UI here. Powerful, yes. Approachable? Meh. I think most novices and even some enthusiasts might find all those drop-downs and fill-in-the-blanks a bit tedious and not at all self-explanatory. Whereas the UI presented by Multi-System Reactor (which I have running under Docker on a Synology NAS) handles all that logic very neatly and, dare I say, in a straightforward, understandable manner. Pair MSR with the Elevation C7 hub and you have a marriage made in heaven! With the added bonus that MSR can - as its name implies - also govern more than one hub at a time, from multiple manufacturers (e.g. Vera / ezlo).

Hey great video, couple of quick questions. First, do you know the character limit for when typing out a personal message to be played back by the Google Home? Also is it possible to have the trigger to be a phrase that I blurt out then Google Home picks up with the personal message I given it, sort of having my own conversation with the device?

New HE user and I noticed that you used the Echo App versus the Echo Skill. Is that because at the time you created the video the Echo Skill was not available or do you prefer the App over the Skill?

Thanks for sharing. I recently installed the app and wasn't sure what the instances meant. That's really cool. I have several gmail accounts as well as multiple accounts for some other apps. Have you ever tried Shift? I heard about both Shift and Station at the same time and installed both to try them out. I'm leaning towards keeping Station as the interface seems a little cleaner to me. Also, shift has multiple tabs for apps which triggers my compulsion to use it more like a traditional browser with multiple tabs open, which I'm trying to avoid.

Hi, does this replace the Hue Bridge? If not, can I link 2 Hue bridges to this device? I would like to control all my Hue Lights work the Alexa and Homekit. Thanks!

Have you had any takers? I think it's a great idea to foster and share tribal knowledge on the topic. It's definitely not in the mainstream, and there's no Home Automation Club in my neighborhood. Heh. I'm certain I don't have anything substantive to add, yet as I'm still patting myself on the back for getting Rule Machine to do anything productive, but my dashboards are kind of gorgeous.

This video was really helpful! I picked up a Hubitat (my very first home automation hub beyond a google mini) after the new version launched last year. For months, I haven't really been able to do anything on that front except other that watch youtube videos about it and only half understanding what I saw. I remember coming across this video specifically, as it seemed so practical even if the actual tasks being accomplished were abstracted. This week I finally had the time and the directed interest to try and accomplish some automation. And wouldn't you know it, both the virtual switch and the auto-off capacities were required right out of the gate. I'm starting to see the systemic method to the automation madness, but jumping head first into the deep end of the pool has been equally maddening and satisfying. I haven't felt like this much of a newb since I first logged onto to the internet via a dialup unix shell in the late 80s.. It's kinda fun! Anyway, thanks for dropping some knowledge her.
