Comment with any questions! Remember to tune in next week for my awesome trip to Borrego Springs
I so enjoyed your video. I go through ALL of those questions, anxieties and pleasure when I'm trying to create. It was good for me to hear someone else be so honest and open about the process. 😊🙏🏼. Thank you so much for making this video. - Happy New Year - 2025!
@@we4r119 appreciate the comment. Happy new year
I just came across your video and i love it! the whole video is artistic with the memes slotted in 🤣 especially the start, you were brawling with the skunk 🤣🤣🤣. Beautiful work!
@@mindlessness2390 glad you liked it. What was your favorite part
Inspiring! But how do you get your finished paintings back to the studio? I love plein air painting, but so far only worked on smaller panels which I can transport in DIY panel carriers. But man, I really want to paint on large stretched canvases (without making a mess of the family car) :)
You're really awesome brother! God bless you 🙏🏻 greetings from Austria Vienna 🇦🇹
I needed this love this so much 😊
I chuckled at Kevin bacon 😂
Mr. Jensen, you are a great and talented artist, thanks for sharing.
I love this so much I enjoyeddd this videooo ❤
Sharing your artistic skills and life values are priceless and a true blessing. Merry Christmas Ryan & family 🎅🥰 🌟
@@marktoomey2596 hey Thanks Mark
What a beautiful painting, great video and especially your views on painting. Nothing is permenant...Painting is constantly correcting mistakes until you're equally satisfied and disatisfied at the same time. CAT IN THE BOX PARADOX...
@@jedifyfe absolutely
Really great painting!
Those spectacles really transformed the portrait. Brilliant.

Great video Ryan! I only enjoy watching a few people paint and you are definitely one of them. Merry Christmas!

What a gorgeous Santa ...Great Video and great narrating...its good to watch even the best of Artists fuss with eyes and pig noses 😂. It helps us to know where not lone fussers...pig noses are kinda cute ❤
@@MM-pd7dx appriciate it! Glad you’re here 🤙🍿
I hope you do more impression portraits bro. This is really good stuff. I struggle greatly with painting people/figures
@@jackal1776 we’re in the same boat. Never seems to get easier. And that’s a good thing. It’s when we know how to paint such THINGS we start running into boring
Fantastic work
@@BMSculptures appriciate all your help
This is right on, Ryan! You talk about so many of the issues I encounter in every painting! Fighting through it is key! Often I tiptoe through till I feel better about it. I've been enjoying your Santa series.
@@jenner8art good to know I’m not the only one
Damn, Ryan. I came here to watch you paint Santa, and instead, you’re over here dropping some deep life lessons. I’m going to be running your words over and over in my head. What a gift-thank you. I really appreciated seeing your process. There were so many great little moments... I love how you go back, fix, correct, and refine, yet it all still feels like every mark was made in one effortless stroke. And those massive blobs of white-love! I could honestly go on and on. Thank you for putting this together. I know these videos take time (and in this case, heart), and I just want you to know how much it’s appreciated. I do have a question for you (though I could ask 100!). Where do you find your Santa reference images and is there something specific you look for in a good Santa reference? Thank you again.
@@MichaelWurmJr Hey Thanks Michael. I really appreciate it. And about the reference, this is an AI reference. Hate AI stuff really but this one was checking all the boxes
@@MichaelWurmJr what I look for is strong light and shadow.
i think this video is one of the most moving ones that i've watched in a long while.. everything you said, about painting, about life... soooo beautiful and true.. thank you , and happy holidays to you and your family .. Norakag, here ( and new subscriber because of this video ❤)
@@arcuda2001 so happy it resonated with you friend 🙏
You are absolutely right. Being afraid to make mistakes can be very limiting in stretching ourselves. Thanks so much for another interesting and inspiring video!

Just got off the Easel . Oil of my Father’s basement workshop. Thanks for your videos. They inspire me. Your son’s voice makes the video come alive . Just like dabbing on the paint right and watching Santa come to Life. The glasses at the end … nice touch.👏👏👏

Ryan always just motivates me to paint its actually awesome
Stoked to hear that!
love these videos! when i get my money up i will definitely buy your art!
Great artists. It is challenging to paint a large format in plein air.
I make stupid faces when I paint too and I still can't figure out why

Those Nipples! Yummy.
What th…a skunk wrangling?
Fantastic. I think you should freeze frame the video and paint you and your daughter in her pink hat. Question: what medium do you use when you start off?
@@maryk.utzinger4030 thanks! I use gamsol to start off with. Really wet paint and then just dry paint
I understand that you are using oil paints. How do you get them drying so fast, that you can transport the picture after a few hours, given the thick layers of paint?
@@jenskreibach1509 I just keep them face up in the back of my truck. You’re right. It’s hard sometimes and can be very frustrating if a big gust a wind picks up.

I liked your paintings better than the other contestants' Yours are painterly and have life and feeling. 😊
@@lcomfort8683 thanks so much
Yo ryan what is the brownish color at the beginning of your paintings ? (You make 🔥 vids btw)
@@whaziz_elc0n hey thanks so much! For these it just a mixture of all the colors. But an umber of some kind if I don’t have other random colors to tone with

I love your art and video. Although its not edited heavily like others it has an amazing miraculous vibe with your storytelling. Love it
@@i.m.wizard7689 thank you so much
I didn't realize you had started posting to youtube, but I'm glad your video was brought to me. The skunk cuddling, the salami break, my kind of sense of humor 😄 and of course it's great to hear and see your approach. Sorry you didn't win, I know that feeling, but those paintings were still beautiful (I loved the nocturne personally, you managed to make the scene pop much more than it did in reality).
