Cheers for the video, it helped massively
how long did this switch work?
It is still on the engine now.
Any chance you where you’ve plug the grey connector? Single wire, I didn’t see where it was plugged in. Other than that, the video is absolutely spot on
Your connectors may have a different colour.... but at 12.02 I have a 1 pin connector. Thanks
Getting that last 10mm back in place was the worst part for me :) thanks a lot for the video!
Thanks for this, you have saved me a lot of time. I have no magnet so stuffed a cloth in the 'dread drop' and put grease in my 10mm socket for stiction, it all worked well.
got it clean, the idle still up and down. any idea ? thanks
@@WingHonda Does it now spin freely or is it stuck? Also did you change the rubber gasket and are there any air leaks? You can get some brake cleaner and spray it around the intake and see if the revs rise to see where a leak could be. Good luck
Is this tools still working
Yes it is, I have to say that out of all the tools I have bought I use this the most, and would recommend it. Saves a lot of time and also wear and tear on your forearms.
I Owe 2 ep3 one with fogs one without you’ve answered how I’m put fogs in my other
You could also use MEYLE 'HD', better than OEM, if you wanted; not much more cost, considering the effort. But it's really changing the ARB bushes I want to know about!?
Hi, I am not sure, I have sold the car now. Thanks
you can (still) get rubber (or poly) boot kits for same?
Good video. Just a couple of things when you use copperslip. Its the peripherally of the hub + stubby bit in the middle where the disc gets stuck. Thats where the copperslip is needed (the central bit of the hub where the 5 studs are is recessed so isnt where the disc sticks). And you really shouldn't copperslip the bolt threads. Thats a recipe for the wrong bolt end load (either too tight and stretch the bolts, or can work loose more easily)
This video is amazing honestly I’m rebuilding my civic and your videos help me out a lot
Glad they helped!
Fantastic comprehensive video - thanks!! For everyones info: I've seen other videos which state its the plastic conduit housing (see thie video at 23:37 mins) which carries the battery cables. which our fuel filler breather pipe rubs against, causing the hole. Personally I'm going to take the drill hole under the rear seat approach which is mentioned in the comments below. I intend to put extra protection around the replacement breather pipe in this vulnerable area.
Was your car burning oil before the pcv fix
Does the earth have to go on a nut or can I be under a screw?
You just need any good earth. Cheers
@@twin2civicgaraget2cg75 I seem to have an extra red and yellow wire with my loom any idea where that supposed to go
The loom I had was a 2nd hand Honda one. Not sure which you have, is it after market?
@@twin2civicgaraget2cg75 mines second hand too I have a little wire that goes nowhere like it’s been cut off it’s red and yellow
Right, it is a bit hard to say... but I would double check it has no power coming to this wire, when the fogs/headlights are on, with with a Voltmeter or test light if you can... as otherwise you might be blowing fuses.
Why does that bolt have to be so long? I did mine and don't remember what tool I used to remove it but a lot of people messed up the bolt and nut. Most likely I used a crows foot as well since I have them. I also have a through sock and wrench tool.
Also, I think I jacked the subframe or somewhere. I never jack the oil pan.
How are you keeping the engine up on the subframe? Another option is to use a brace from the top or engine crane, however I have never had an issue with using a jack on the sump, you just need to spread the load out with some wood. Cheers
Did you have to disconnect the ecu?
Hi, I didnt no.
Where can i get that radiator bracket from?
The one at the top of the radiator?
Homie can do all his automotive work with one hand.
What turbo manifold are you using?
Any chance you have the link for the line I’ve just ordered a line it’s about 30cm long😂

I think this is what you want
Hi matey, just a quick one to say a huge thank you or this video. Without this, I would have been tackling it still next year. I had the same problem, someone smashed mine to bits (although amazingly the mirror still moved), so been going round for past 3 months with gaffer tape all over it. Got mine for 35 quid, mint condition, and now its sorted. Thanks again. Lee
Glad this helped and you have got your car sorted. Cheers
hello do you have a link to this cat?
should i also use 320 i have npr rings
I had to remove the top pulley to replace the expansion tank ffs, very helpfull vid, cheers.
Great help to me in 2024 thanks 👍
Thanks for the comment
it would be cool if you showed how you took them off. I cant get a wrench on the bottom part of the strut the plastic is in the way. Im scared of breaking the plastic so it would be better if you showed how to actually take them off. obviously putting new ones on is easy after that.
Hi, at around 1:50 I showed the reverse of this. But I think you just need to pull back the metal clip and they should come off the ball end. Hope this helps
Great video
Thanks!
I found this video after purchasing the same fast road vibra mounts, ( this video helped massively!much better drive now, can change gear quick without any unwanted jurking, like you kindly pointed out, have noticed some vibration on idle, steering wheel most noticeable, can’t help but think what new oem would feel like with the same driving style, ( mine were 20 yr old mounts)I am 95% happy, such a shame about the vibration, it’s not bad but it is there!
@@DanielGrist-nl8np Yeah I am just used to it now. The idle vibration is quite bad, I cannot even see out of my rear view mirror when stopped lol. But when driving with quick gear changes, it it much more direct. My old oem mount were in poor condition, particularly the driver side engine mount, which had split and was leaking it fluid. But yeah, it would be intersting to have put in new oem mounts. Cheers
This video sucks dick. My cars clutch still is not bless after doing this goofy method. Maybe explain what the heck ur buddy in the car is doing better
5 years, and not a single one have done this tail light thingy! Life safer. Have some minor rust so i need to get the rear light on the boot out. You are the only one showing how to get it out. Kinda nervous about the white plastic thing though, couldnt really see were its connected or if it has a big purpose
You will be fine! The white plastic part holds all of the bulbs in place. It clips in to the main plastic part.
@@twin2civicgaraget2cg75 Ah, i meant the one you dropped =) But i guess that one only holds the taillight in place against the body of the boot (can only go one way)?
I would have to check the video it was a while back.
@@twin2civicgaraget2cg75 yea, 5 years :P
On my audi a6 from year 2000 the light won't go on until you close the door
Thanks for doing this video. My fan has just stopped working, although it's intermittent, if I go over a big bump it kicks back in again. I took the car to the garage and they told me it's the blower motor but won't fix it as they only fit genuine honda parts 🤦🏼♂️ How do I know if it's the blower motor or the resistor? If it is the resistor, do you have the part number?
Hi, It sounds like your resistor is duff... I would get yourself a multimeter and check it. But failing that just get yourself the resistor. Found a used one here: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/276420183843?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=-yg4U85fThS&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=H-XKHJe6SiK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Good luck
fyi, in the haynes manual it states if the brake hoses are to be disconnected, just put some slight pressure on the brake pedal and it will only lose a slight amount. I used a block of wood. (and yes i know 7 years later)
Thank you from 2024. Great vid. Made changing mine a breeze. I’ve left the old pad carrier bracket on - too rusty for the time I had will get to it next rotor change. But finally my handbrake works again. Cheers boss.
Dont need to take off the carrier braket if your just changing discs and pads for those wondering 👍🏼
Takes around 3.5 days to change with a supercharger top mounted worst job utter bullshit
When i Bridge mine and set the timing. When i take out the wire and check timing its showing off the middle mark when i unbridge it.
Using this wire bridge... locks the timing, which is why yoi ser the timing with the dizzy like this. Without the bridge the timing wil change... and will therefore be impossible to time as it would be a moving target. So dont worry is what I am trying to say... you are all good
@@twin2civicgaraget2cg75 ahhh grand job. But unfortunately my rev cluster still jumping. I got new grounding cables that seem to sort the revs jumping. But i gave some huy a jump start and my rev cluster start jumping up and down again. Cheers for the fast reply also.
Ok no probs. Always worth checking the distributor bolt torque.... I have seen the bit on the distribitor which the bolts go through get messed up by people using the wrong bolts too. Either way good luck!
When I press throttle it sounds like it wants to cut out as if it's drawing to much air any ideas
There are quite a few things this can be. But if the engine was running well before and you habe made no changes... then I have had this before when the is build up of white corrosion inside the dizzy cap. If you take it off and clean this cap' contact points up, and clean up the spark plugs, it will usually improve. Good luck!
Does a dual bend bring the knob closer to you than with a single bend ?
Yes I think the dual bend brings the knob closer to you. It is a much better shift feel that the single bends I used before, when I used it with the weighted knob at least
@@twin2civicgaraget2cg75 and woud you say the steal ones are better then the aluminium ones Cuz i had a cheap one from h-gear made from aluminium and i just snaped the top off
@@twin2civicgaraget2cg75 is it true that a single bend has a shorter throw then a dual bend ?
I had the same thing happen to me on a track day with an aluminium one... which was single bend
It all depends on the distance of the ball to the pivot which goes on the shifter. The longer that is, the shorter the throw.
Can you do mine 😂
Very in depth and helpful video- thank you!
Is this perfect what oil you use and is it strong for long range?
Are you talking abput assembly lube? This stuff is good for engines which are not going to be run straight away.
This is manual steering rack?
Yes it is
@@twin2civicgaraget2cg75 is the same for all models form 89 to 91?mine is 91 and i want to replace it with a steering rack from 89 model
I am not aware of more than one type of manual rack for these cars. But it might be worth checking the number of turns lock to lock of the old and new rack. Thanks
So you dont have to take the bumper off to get to the hood latch? I need to replace my cable since it doesnt latch anymore
This is like watching Mr bean work on Hondas 😂
Jesus Christ how many episodes does it take to change a intake manifold lol I wanna rip my eyes out
I knew from the beginning you were going to have problems with those junk ass itbs .
Hi, may I know why is your press head not retracted back to its original position after you have released the pressure ? There is an issue about my press head not retractable after changing oil seal and hydraulic oil.
So how did you fix the light? Does it just go off when you get the new sensor? Or do you have to clear it with a code reader somehow? I was taking off my Hub and I just ripped my passenger side in half so I'm going to replace it.
Hi, it just clears when you fit the new sensor. Thanks
Possibly when you start the car... you need to drive for a few seconds to clear the code... so that the car can see the sensor it picking up the wheel speed.
