The dividend of only 7 cents was a large reduction and was disappointing for shareholders who rely on dividends to pay their bills. (7 cents equates to a yield of only 1% for the half year based on the current share price ).

Great results. Markets are discounting the company but mid-term prospects seem good. Please consider additional buybacks, at dividends of above 5% it is more beneficial to return capital to shareholders through reducing outstanding shares.

Meanwhile , our energy transition away from coal is going so well that the NSW govt has decided to impose a Coal Reservation Policy so that they can try to avoid blackouts and price rises caused by the 'transition'. Unprecedented 'free' market interference , since when did the govt have the power to force a business to sell it's product at a controlled price ?

I recently returned from Europe seeking for a job opportunity and met lot of people, some of them from Australia, and they recommended me to seek a job there. I have been watching Whitehaven as a great opportunity to increase my work experience and maybe to settle down in a great country as it is AUS. I have European citizen which may help immigration procedure. I would like to send my Resume (CV) for your consideration.

Zero carbon is zero life! Power to them. 500 jobs there plus drivers, plus jobs for the steel industry, jobs for those who sell the steel, more driving jobs, jobs for those forging tools from the steel, jobs for those selling it, more jobs for drivers, money going into our own economy. What could be better? As long as there is real health and safety and proper pay, well above minimum wage for the workers and miners.

Here in Europe we closed down our dirty coal fired power plants and replaced by renewables to lead the road for elimination of fossile fuel for urgent response to the climate crisis. However then Putin stopped sending gas over and we could not use the renewables for stabile supply of power so we had to wait to go into the climate response and we had to start up with coal again. however our banks have stopped financing coal mines.

Shareholder for the last year or so and what a ride it's been. Been able to fund taking some serious time out from work to travel the world. Thank you WHC.

Fantastic to see the huge economic benefits coal mining brings to regional towns. Gives crucial support when agriculture is doing tough. "Woke" millennial city folks sipping lattes and posting about net zero on social media just don't get it. But if they have a power outage for even a couple of hours or if they don't get the freshest produce at the shops, they'll definitely be the ones complaining the loudest!

Interesting that the sustainability page of WH Coal does not address the question of climate change. Seems to be something of an omission. I get it that 700 people might be employed here but I also note the autonomous/robotic coal trucks.
