The O'Rourke's were once the chieftains of the area now known as Leitrim. They left a legacy of castles, abbeys, and earthworks and impacted the county's development over time. Join historian Dr. Paul MacCotter as he charts the history of this great family from early medieval times through the centuries.
This talk forms part of a wider Leitrim County Council Heritage project coordinated by Abarta Heritage, which aims to research and interpret the history of the O'Rourke's of Leitrim.
The Connecting Through Heritage video series is an initiative of the Leitrim County Council Heritage Office and is part-funded by the Heritage Council.
