As this season started I felt very confident that this year, Rising's last year, would be Whittingham's last. It would have been great to have a decent final run without Rising, but things just have come to an end, "To everything there is a season ...". Things have gotten stale. In some ways Morgan Scalley becoming head coach could perpetuate the sameness, staleness. The next few seasons could be quite a roller coaster.
Funny how now to make Utahs season its to beat BYU.....and you might.
Love the comments at the end, I agree. Love the Utes, always will. There is no quit. The pain of this season is a reminder that winning should not be taken for granted and to appreciate the winning of past seasons.
Last year, this year and going into next year Utes are definitely trending down. At the end of the day it all falls to Whitt and I believe he knows this. I am having a hard time believing Whitt would just walk away now and dump this mess into the lap of the next head coach who has never been head coach.
Great Show! I kind of feels like our Big Bro is Provo is getting ready to dominate the rivalry (football and basketball) for a while. Let’s just hope it not 35 years… Again! GO UTES‼️
Maybe the low-point of Kyle's tenor as head coach. The loss to ND at South Bend in 2010 after getting steamrolled by TCU the week before was close but, that team didn't even hv the talent or expectations this team has. Back-up quarterback has always been a serious issue, now it's a definitive and glaring flaw. I don't even hv faith in Wilson being the #1 quarterback come next fall so, unless this staff brings someone that's impactful in vis-a-vis the portal, the same serious flaw will be ever-present in '25! The sad thing for the Utes is, their problems the last few weeks hv been more than quarterbacking!
Utah will be good next year 2025 season. And we going to win vs byu
Right the ship? Got some easy ones like Houston and UCF, but Colorado on the road is not easy. BYU and Iowa State are a loss probably. You are terrible at QB. OK, looks like the old Utah pre-Rising where ASU beat you over half the time in the PAC. The best thing about Utah is the Athletic Department but things might be trending down long term. I have watched you play us going back to Kush and the WAC.
Mark dude, Leavitt not mobile??? He is a legit dual QB and all you have to do is look at his yardage starting his 6th game. His PFF grade is in the top of the Big 12. Skatt is stat wise one of the best RB's in the country? Like top two and 6th all purpose. He has been Big 12 player of the week three times now. Like you did a great job of containment? No, get trucked in the 4th quarter for two long runs still counts when the game is on the line. Your defense is not that great and Cam has nothing to do with that side of the ball.
14:45 Sam Leavitt, not particularly mobile? Ummm, is this the first time you've watched him? Has the 3rd most rushing yards of qb's in conference. He's done this running wise every game so far. 18:45 you didn't steal the hockey team. No one wanted them here. You'll find that out. They let Phoenix to Glendale on bad terms and Mesa/ Scottsdale bird not to build a stadium. Glendale jumped at the chance and later regretted it. Coyotes lost money hand over fist and naked Austin on bad terms. Tempe voted no to build a stadium. Coyotes threatened to leave and Arizona said, ok bye. Their attendance was routinely in the bottom 3 of NHL year in and year out. Management was the reason. Burned bridges. They played at ASU in a 5k capacity arena and the left to Utah. No tears shed. I think many would be happy if Phoenix got another team or expansion team down the road. Coyotes won't be missed. They left Winnipeg in financial ruin and left Arizona in financial ruin. 20 years, hopefully Utah isn't in the same boat. You didn't steal them, you got suckered. Honeymoon phase will wear off.
Can’t wait for BYU to smoke you guys
Not his best game but I think Anthony Hall has done great this season. Gilman was definitely missed on Friday. Tao Johnson is always getting there, just need his tackles to be more effective. Appreciate y’all spending time on defense, which gets missed in so much commentary.
1:55 Utah football putting people to sleep it's so boring.

@@Abrow183 Good news! Thanks
We should stick with Cam the rest of the season so we don't have to worry about a bowl games.
Thanks for the conversation guys. Nice wrap up after a tough game. I’d like to see us move on from Cam and develop Isaac. I agree with RoJo that a bowl game is now the goal. If we can do that and FINALLY win a bowl game for the first time in almost a decade, I’ll consider it a successful season
ASU owns Utah and BYU since wac days.
Absolutely Hilarious 😂
That may have been true in the WAC days, but byu has won the last 3 against ASU.

@@Abrow183 Riiiiight!👌
Leaving Cam in is indicative of still how unprepared Wilson is to, not only identify protections, get guys lined-up correctly, and audible out of plays but, how much the playbook is still limited with him out there. Also, Ludwig was still calling zone-reads, which I found perplexing. No way was Cam breaking contain and getting around the edge. He could barely drop back in the pocket! Lastly, the qb play hasn't been the only problem the past two weeks. The tackling and gap integrity on defense has left a lot to be desired! It's frustrating that, what was initially a promising season with much potential, has turned into playing for a bowl game! Just shows how fickle the game is!
What’s with this Andrew guy?
Good luck the rest of the way Utes (except when you play my Cougars). Coach Whitt is still good enough to get them back from two losses.
1st time watching... is Andrew on dope??
Lmao 😂😂😂😂
I’d give Isaac 65% of reps during the week, play both QBs, finish games with the hot hand. Cam has lost benefit of the doubt he’s just too injury prone now.
Great show at a difficult time. I’m So Depressed! It feels like BYU is about to dominate us in basketball and football for the next 35 years…Again! We squandered our only chance to accomplish something great and now we’ve lost our PAC 12 gift (we couldn’t even win a single Rose Bowl game). It also feels like our NIL collective is collapsing. Anyway… let’s hope for the best. GO UTES‼️
I hope BYU dominates for 35 years!
Great show guys in difficult circumstances. I personally deleted other subscriptions and made U my First Go 2
Utahs leading rusher had less than 100 yds rushing (as well as the entire offense) Cam Rising would not have been a difference maker
@ ajwysopal That's right. I should've realized you don't expect to still be competing for the Big-12 championship toward the end of the season or beyond, in the CFP. There is a conference championship game, you know that, right? The Utes will be in it.
6:15 dude yawning on screen reminds me of Utah Saturday. Bear down Arizona. Man utah fans sure thought they were hot ish didnt they.
UofA UofA UofA 🐻⬇️🌵🐻⬇️🌵
To me it’s really simple.. Arizona did their homework. Wilson is clearly only being given some of the offensive packages… which makes him less dynamic and an easier task for defenses to handle. Kudos to Arizona for doing their job. I have been to every home game this season and it’s a night and day difference when Cam is under center. I know that we will win the big12 if cam and the team stay healthy… but at some point I have to question the strength and conditioning team + nutritionists.. because the amount of injuries we have had in the last year and a half is not normal.
Arizona out coach Utah they have out excited them out recruited them all u have to do is compare resumes the coach that went to washington Utah dose not have the brains to compete whit them look how quickly they put that team together
Stupid. If that was true, why isn't it Arizona that just won 2 back to back PAC-12 Championships? Here are the facts. Arizona has >never< won an outright conference championship in football in either the PAC-12 or PAC-10, in the last 50 years. The best they could do was a 3 way co-conference championship in 1993. In the last 20 years, they've never been above .600 in football. Their best season was .573 in 2015. In the last 4 years, they've been sub .500 two of those years. Utah, by contrast, had only been in the PAC-12 since 2010 and won the conference championship twice! They won the Southern Division in 4 of those 13 seasons (Arizona only once) and had the 4th best won-loss record in the league. All this under Coach Whittingham. Plus, they had a winning record against Arizona.
@@geoffreyeble32lmao sounds like someone is a sore loser. Damn two years in a row from a team you say is no good.... Shows just how good utah is i guess then. Ouch.
@@ajwysopaltwo years in a row tell you az can only win when theres key players missing from our team. Talkin all that shit and got held to 20 points. By the way you guys talk you should’ve beat us by 40 with our lil jv qb. Get your shit lined up before you mouth off and sound like a cornball.
@@ajwysopal Hey AZ cheerleader. Your boys in blue didn't do too good in their game with Texas Tech, haha. Guess they kind of 'popped your bubble,' huh! Better get used to it.
@@ajwysopal Haha. I provide statistics from the PAC-12, facts in other words, that Arizona has never won a conference title in 50 years and your conclusion is they're a great team. I wasn't talking to you anyway.
Cam won't be playing next game. Just an observation and an opinion. And, oh, BYU is having a good season so far?? I hadn't noticed.
Cam Rising reminds me of the mythical John Frum, the diety of the Cargo Cults in the South Pacific. No one can remember the days when he was among us and used his powers to benefit the people, but the day will come when he returns and showers true believers with all things that are good. Just keep waiting. . .
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if someone within the Utah football program, staff, administration, etc. inquired as to WHY the coolers that Cam Rising was thrown into during the Baylor game were so close to the sidelines? Almost always, those coolers will be back by, adjacent to, the benches or, even BEHIND the benches. Should hv never been located where they were!
Obviously you played band in HS
@wmb1977ify I use work in the Utah AD goofball! My questions are relevant and pertinent to Cam's injury and any potential future injuries. Former Boise St/Washington HC Chris Peterson brought-up similar questions afterwards. Glad you're not overseeing the logistics of the sidelines otherwise, you'd probably hv the team benches, training and medical staff carts and equipment all near the sidelines🤣Your juvenile comment only reveals your narrow and limited perspective on the matter. Pigeon-brain!
@@edkiely2712 the "get back" coach...keeping the sidelnes clear of players. : ) BTW does working in the AD mean you played football..cause no cares about darn water jugs. Your QB is old and arthritic he gets hurt every year
@wmb1977ify You obviously are uneducated on the logistics of where, and how, the lay-out of personel and equipment items are suppose to go on a football sidelines goofball. Everything from where people like the media, VIP's, and staff are suppose to be, to where the equipment like yard-markers, medical carts, training staff carts, and additional team equipment is suppose to go. Next time you watch a game with your 55IQ mind, notice that many fields have definitive colored layout lines that represent some of these restricted areas- Rice-Eccles is one! One of my jobs was issuing passes, whether they were suite-passes, media-passes, VIP-passes, or all-access passes, the latter of which I issued to myself and wore, being allowed to go ANYWHERE but the team locker rooms during game time. Because of my job, I had to understand the various RULES that applied to the areas that the passes were eligible for and applied to. Must be difficult being stupidly presumptuous and underestimating who you are communicating with? Let this be a lesson to you you arrogant bonehead!
@wmb1977ify One of my jobs was issuing passes: media passes, VIP's, suite, and all-access, the latter of which I wore. Because of this, I had to understand the areas the passes applied to and were for- like the sidelines! Most football stadium sidelines hv defined colored lines that represent where equipment and non-team personel go- Rice-Eccles is one! I coordinated with security staff many times to see that the sideline rules & logistics were adhered to. It must be tough being a presumptuous and ignorant dolt not understanding who you're dealing with. Let this be a lesson to you arrogant bonehead!
Of course, if Cam plays in this Arizona game, there's no guarantee that Utah wins as their issues involved more than offense. However, Cam being in there healthy might change the game plan and play-calling.
I highly doubt that Arizona would’ve made. Cam pushed down into the ground and be hurt even more.
Utah did not respect Arizona plain and simple. I guarantee you if this was Alabama or any top five team they would kick the field goals. They tried to cheat and get to the bye week with Isaac Wilson instead of telling Cam Rising to put a band aid on his ouchy and going out to play. What a total fail from the coaching staff.
Fight song sounds like a circus intro 😂🤣😂
Good observation. I have hated that song for years now.
@@lukeslc-xd8ds asU fight song is lifted from a section of Mozart 🤣😂🤣
It was coach Whittingham who chose to start the freshman QB, Wilson. Cam has been cleared to play for the last two games. It's obvious that coach Whitt has a new shiny toy in Isaac Wilson. So much so, that he's actually obsessed with his new toy and selected him twice in games that Rising should have started. Rising might be at 95%, but his 95% is still better than Wilson's 100%. In the two seasons that Rising has started, he's won two conference championships. Rising is a winner. This is his last year. It's shameful to see coach Whitt not select him. You could see the frustration on Cam's face at the beginning of the game with AZ, that he wasn't selected to start. I blame coach Whittingham for that loss. He needs to just retire already and let coach Scally take over. There's no reason that we should have lost that game, and Rising of all people knows it.
Sorry! For me, Cam put himself back into this situation against Baylor with his ridiculous decision to hold onto the ball, not throw the ball away immediately out-of-bounds- or even slide- and, allow the defenders to close in on him and throw him into the coolers/table etc. His decision-making after last year's injury should hv undergone a complete overhaul with regard to: 1) his obvious importance to the team, 2) his potential susceptibility to another injury/re-injury if put in a compromising situation on the field. Now, it's obvious that Cam can't control certain things on the field, like a blindsided sack or a tackle on a goal line play but, those situations, like the one with Baylor, where he could have thrown the ball away to live another down and not play the hero on a "meaningless" down, are the situations that he should have thought long and hard about the last year. Almost as if he learned nothing and now the team is back in a somewhat similar situation. Like the guys alluded to, it's become an unnecessary distraction potentially within the team and we have to watch Cam, with the almost permanent anticipatory grin on his face, waiting on the sidelines for ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY to play again coming off of a preventable injury! This has been more than frustrating as a Utah fan, especially with the potential this team had coming into the season!
Utah fan, I like your coach but can't stand the smugness of the fan. It was wonderful to see the Wildcats lay the smackdown on Saturday. That's 2 in a row. Don't take the cats lightly.
They shouldn't have. But Isaac Wilson is no Arch Manning. With Rising, you have to deal with the fact he probably isn't that motivated to play in the NFL anymore, doesn't want to live with a disability for the rest of his life and another 2 weeks off (5 total) could ensure the Utes are playing their best football at the end of the season. Watch out, kitties!
Watch out for what?.... You lost
@@geoffreyeble32 Rising has arthritis 😂
A lot of this is on Ludwig. Ludwig is terrible. He does not know how to adjust or mix things up. Why did they go away from the run? Why do the always go up the middle instead of sending our speedster around the edge once in a while? Ludwig is stale and predictable. He squandered a good opportunity to score before the half if he used a 2 minute offense, which he seem to not know how to do.
You're partly right and partly wrong. Ludwig is a good play caller, but he does have trouble with using Isaac Wilson. The freshman's a pretty good open field passer, but Ludwig still doesn't have enough confidence in him to mix it up well. Especially in the red zone. That was a joke against Arizona. You can't send every single player to the line and not expect the corners and the safeties to come up and stop the well telegraphed, obvious run! When Wilson is in, he has to come up with short plays (rollouts, screens, passes to the flats, etc.) that keep the defense honest, while still protecting Wilson from himself and his demonstrated ability to throw interceptions. With Rising in, someone with experience, running and scrambling ability, on field panache, versatility and strong will to win and make plays happen, Ludwig isn't limited by the lack of skills and experience of his QB so he calls a good game. The problem is, he still has to call a variety of plays to catch the defense off guard even when Wilson is in and much of the time, he hasn't been able to do that.
I think the Rising fan frustration comes from framing. If week after week Cam is medically cleared but is a game time decision it gives the impression that he is good to go but then last second on multiple occasions he’s not able/willing to go. Last year it was a game time decision week after week. It just gives off a bad vibe the way they present his availability. I’m fine tho. If Cam plays great, if not expect the worst, hope for the best.
Whittingham said Rising's injury was "nothing serious" right after the Baylor game. Talk about misleading!
@@geoffreyeble32 what makes you believe otherwise? He will start next week.
