This is a very underrated movie. It's really a throwback ( even for 1980 ) to earlier monster pictures. The climax is a lot of fun.
Great recommendations and I hope they do get the royal treatment for blu ray. Hunters Blood was a cheesy favourite during the VHS years, but your top five I absolutely need to investigate. Thanks for your service 😊

Because Leatherface wears an apron. I would be cooking burgers in that thing if I was you.
I am here watching this because I have spent the last 4 days watching children screaming into their phones, shaving their heads and threatening to harm themselves and others after the election. I am currently working on an article about it for my substack. I always remember a scene in this movie where James Woods tells the parents that because they gave the kid nothing to believe in, anybody else could just come along and pour whatever they want into his head. I am thinking about that a lot nowadays.
David Lynch is the most overrated film maker in the history of cinema. Parents is genius. Lynch films are all style and no substance.
I saw this as a kid and it freaked me out. I never could remember the name though, and I saw it not too long ago in a horror group and watched it again. It is legit genius.

Here in the UK we finally got this by 88 Films i'am wondering is the audio bad in this release, it's terrible on my version almost like when you don't have the audio jack fully in on your headphones and everything sounds muffled.
@@jamesmorris7844 the audio has always been a little rough on this one. I don't think it was captured/mixed very well when they initially filmed it. Scream Factory did a decent job working with what they had, but it's still a muddled stereo mix. I think it's the source material, and sadly it's probably the best we'll ever get for this one. I'm just glad it had subtitles, unlike the old DVD. Lol.
Where can we watch this? It's unavailable everywhere
Close Calls was great. This isn't available on Amazon, says not available in my region. I'm in the US.
DARN unrated movie, LOVE this one!

Nothing wrong with Gruv, but I definitely prefer Atomic, Diabolik, and Orbit DVD over Gruv.

check out a movie called "Blood Salvage" from 1990. It's on Tubi right now. Unfortunately, still stuck on VHS or at least unmastered DVD. and most unfortunately, the movie was cut to bits. I saw an old Fangoria mag, that has some gory scenes that never showed up.
I'll check it out, man. Thanks!
I’m posting this on Instagram today
Just got Halloween 3 scream factory 4k in the post and still with the hard case. It’s my favourite Halloween and will probably be the only scream factory 4k I buy because I’m damn sure most of the movies don’t come in those cool hard cases anymore. If they still come with a standard slip I might grab em. I got my favourite so I’m happy. I got Halloween 2018, kills and ends Steelbooks in that big steel case. The other Halloween films I’m not sure what version to get them in, but I’ll figure it out. Absolutely love ya custom boxset, it’s beautiful.
Thanks a bunch, man!
One question: In the scene where the old woman grabs the girl's foot, how many shots had to be taken? Can you show the scene?
Awesome collection dude lots of cool stuff in that room
Thanks a bunch, man. 🤘
Your welcome dude feel free to check out my stuff
This Hitcher release is 💯. And Umbrella Entertainment releases play fine in my region A players.
Hellyeah, and Umbrella has been doing solid work lately. "The Hitcher" looked great, but I still can't wait for that Second Sight 4K release.
What's wrong with the Halloween II blu ray artwork? I mean it's not good, but it's not that bad.
If you're referring to the 30th anniversary edition that Universal put out - that artwork is just more of that generic Photoshop collage crap that big studios (mainly in the mid-2000s) would slap on a cover instead of spending the money to commission an actual poster artist for a cool design. Or at least just sticking with the original "skull in the pumpkin" cover, which is what Scream Factory ultimately provided as a reversible for their release. I'm glad that boutique labels - and even some big studios now - are starting to pay more attention to the concept of cover art now, and in many cases, sticking with the original one-sheet designs.
When will this movie be on DVD
The movie's out now, but it looks like they skipped DVD and went straight to the blu-ray/4K format.
@@RedPhoneVideo that stinks
@@brettrosen8628 the fact that it never got a DVD back in the day definitely stinks, but I will say the film has never looked better with this new transfer.
The Clown at Midnight is a cheesterpiece that needs a flawless upgrade
Agreed. I could see someone like Vinegar Syndrome getting their hands on this. We can hope anyway.

We need Psycho Cop
I was thinking it had a blu-ray, but I believe it was a bootleg. Vin Syn put out "Psycho Cop Returns" though.
@@RedPhoneVideo yeah no official release for the original
Hunters Blood is an excellent movie.
I watched 'The Paperboy' on tv back in the 90s at least 10 times, I remember it always aired on the USA channel back then ~
Man, I miss USA - especially USA Up All Night.
I would love to see The Supernaturals get a blu-ray release. It’s about Civil War ghosts coming after a bunch of reenactors.
Nice! I added that one to my watchlist a while back because it was from the same director as "He Knows You're Alone," but I still haven't watched it. Sounds awesome though.
Rose McGowan devil in the flesh
I'm thinking The Keep. I have always wanted to see it. Also, Blood Beach, tho, I searched for it, and it seems it may have a blu ray now...? I remember Grim Prairie Tales being replayed on cable and loved it. Great list. Thanks!
You're welcome! Sadly, I don't think Michael Mann is gonna let "The Keep" happen anytime soon. There's some copyright issues with the Tangerine Dream score holding it up as well. I love that movie though.
Junior and Elves are out on german DVD, both english-friendly. The Paper Boy is also on german DVD but it only has german audio.

I grew up on 80's horror and I still go back and find a movie from each year of the 80's I've not yet seen and check them out. I just watched "Silent Madness" from 1984, so I need candidates from 1985-1989 to round out this trip through the 80's. Night Life looks pretty rad, so I will likely add it as the 1989 entry. I had never seen Red Phone Video before tonight, but I liked and subscribed, and I look forward to mining the channel's content for suggestion for other 80's films that I have yet to see. Thanks for the assist.
Thanks for subbing to the channel, my friend. It's always refreshing to see the number of weird horror fans out there who love this shit as much as I do! 🤘
@@RedPhoneVideo Had a chance to check out Night Life. It was for sure one of the better films on my latest trip through the 80's. I also really liked Evils of the Night from 1985. Ir reminds me of what Ed Wood would have given us had he lived to see the 80's!
I own both this & Psychos in Love. Gorman Bachard is an incredibly underrated filmmaker! I love everything about Disconnected! It definitely is an arthouse flick, & very unconventional in every way. I had no idea that Carmine Capobianco had passed! R. I. P. Carmine! Please do more horribly underrated horror videos.
Will do, my friend! Thanks. I actually started making notes for a third segment a few weeks ago, but got a little sidetracked. I'm glad you enjoy 'em dude. 🤘
Yeah, Jason Goes to Hell is definitely one of the worst, next to Jason X, & the craptacular Platinum Dunes remake. I prefer JTM to it, but JGTH does have its moments. I really enjoyed the opening scene, with the SWAT team, & Jason getting blown up, & Creighton Duke is an awesome character, & i liked that they introduced a previously unheard of Voorhees family member. However, the body hopping slug & that goofy ending with the sword, just ruined what probably could've been a decent entry. I think, with the next Friday the 13th film, they should just get rid of all the fancy, over the top shit, they've been doing, & just get back to basics. Take it back to Crystal Lake, & have another simple story of Jason offing campers. Also, call it Friday the 13th. Also, find a way to link it to the Paramount films.
I agree, dude. The worst thing that happened to the "Friday the 13th" series was when they started trying to incorporate high-concept ideas into a simplistic slasher formula. That's when you know the creative well is drying up or there's too much cocaine at the executive table.
I unapologetically love Jason Takes Manhattan, & Julius is one of my favorite characters, of the entire franchise, but i agree with you on Rennie being the weakest final girl. I agree with all your comments & your rankings here. Ginny could have finished Jason off, but she didn't, like you said, but Chris, at least, came damn close, to killing Jason. Part 3 is another fave entry of mine, in the franchise. Particularly because i consider it to be the scariest entry. Part 3 Jason is uber creepy, & Chris is in a pretty terrifying situation, for the latter half of the movie. Dana Kimmell was actually born in Texarkana, a town that is only 20-25 minutes from where i live, & that is so awesome! The Friday the 13th films always boost my dopamine levels, & get me pumped up, when i'm depressed, too. Love your channel man! You earned yourself a new subscriber!
Thanks a lot for subbing, my man, I appreciate the support! Your passion for horror is awesome, and of course the love for Dana Kimmell is always refreshing to hear.
Oh wow! You're lucky to have that survival kit with the red cross on it! It's quite the collector's item! To me, Felissa Rose is Angela, though Pam Springsteen definitely elevated the role of Angela Baker. It's just too bad that Pam refuses to do any interviews or take any pictures, & has never commented on her roles, in parts 2 & 3. She was tracked down & asked to appear in the special features on the Scream Factory blu-rays, but declined to be interviewed. Also, the only pics of her you can find, are old ones from the '80s, which is really weird. On the other hand, Felissa is proud of her role as Angela, & has done many interviews, & appeared at many horror conventions. I'm with you on pretending like part 4 doesn't exist, lol. It's garbage, & not worth the money. If only Double Helix films had had enough funds to finish it, i might own it now. I had no idea that Desiree Gould had died. R.I.P. Desiree! What do you think of Return to Sleepaway Camp?
I wasn't a fan of "Return" at all, but it was worth watching for some good laughs. I've met Felissa before and she's awesome. Like you said, she totally owns that role. It sucks that Pamela Springsteen has distanced herself from the series. She brought a lot of gravitas to that character in her own unique way.
