Worst tenant damage ever done in less than a year!
มุมมอง 51314 วันที่ผ่านมา
Check out the damage a destructive and mentally disturbed tenant did to this rental unit in under a year! Removed walls, destroyed the kitchen, had an indoor garden that caused mold growth everywhere and flooring and subfloor damage as well as drywall damage to the lower level. Completely destroyed the washroom as well and just about every door and wall. #destroyed #tenants #property #rentalpro...

Happy birthday! and mine is Nov 30 . Enjoy your weekend buddy
Thanks buddy! Happy pre end of the month birthday 🥳
Great video. Any recommendation for the screws to use for the header board?
Thanks 🙏 I personally used 3” construction screws and made sure they were hidden behind the rail
So you do floors or walls 😂😂
Thanks for joining in near the end… if you go back to earlier videos, you’ll know this is a rental unit… and an old one at that, so the walls and ceilings are very old plaster and wavy and sketchy af… this isn’t a complete renovation, it’s a clean up and repair. If you understand the rental market (especially old buildings) you’d know pulling old plaster or skim coating a whole unit has no long term return on units like this, so repair and patch is where it’s at as far as the owners (my employers) are concerned.
Ugly floors, should have let the other guy pick.
😂😂 oh ya?!? Well your floors are stupid!
@@A.G.T.A Aint got none, my house is all roof.
@mathiash6525 then I’m surprised you didn’t like the floor, we actually used shingles
Figured I would update. I installed it. It turned out not to bad. I highly suggest to other people that if there's an existing tub n sink that you start at the tub back wall corner n work your way back to the door , my tub has a bump out in the middle so I struggled to get them to lock. As you need to lift the tiles to lock them in. Also the unfortunate thing about these tiles is that you may need to sacrifice a whole tile if you need just a small piece as the locking edge is required for install. Or you will need to ad some type of grout to get matching seams. All in all I give this product 8/10.
@@slyfly4829 ya the newer tubs are a bit of an issue for that… I usually trace a jig to get the proper cut for them. Glad the install worked out for you! 👍
Where is the thermostat controller u put on to control the heat
You have to purchase it separately
I think i got the exact same kind. Im going to try a jig saw. Hoping i don't fuck it up lol...
Haha good luck! Just need a good steady hand… and if it’s under the base trim no one will see anyways 😜
Dude was growing weed.
Very likely
Looksfamiliar! I never want to be a landlord again! NEVER!!!!
It’s a tough racket when you get bad tenants that’s for sure
Mold on the ceiling? Roof leaking? Painted doors? Maybe the Kids was drawing all over them and they wanted to do a cover up? Nasty place man! Ugggg! You have your hands full! Good luck!
@@danbartstow9829 the mold is from indoor gardens… there is a unit above… and the mold is surface layer on the old plaster (wipes off with cleaner)… this was a middle aged gross dude… sponsored through community housing initiative… we actually saw him when he came back and tried to enter the unit… we have our hands full with this one for sure… the renovated reveal will be coming in a couple of weeks
Im starting to think you guys have some scary friends 😊🤣. Good luck on this one 👍
We have been doing work for a customer with about 60 units or so for the last 10-11 months… so all of these bad ones are from them… unfortunately great landlords, brutal tenants 😞
Nice. 🔥
Thanks 🙏
I use a Polaris. It has to have its own pump and it cleans year around summer or winter. 🔥
Ya I definitely have to buy a new pool vac this off season… I’ll have to consider the Polaris
How do i turn the lights on
There’s a button on it for both the fan and the light… of course you need to make sure it has power
Stay out of that dungeon! Have a great weekend. 😊👍
Too late buddy… already put most of it back together and have the slight tickle in my lungs to prove it 😬 have a great weekend too Pete! 👍
Obviously the area is horrible or you would never have to put that on your door.
Believe it or not, this building is actually less than a minute away from multi-million dollar homes… it’s strange how government assisted housing can degrade an area or complex… the dude that lived in this unit completely trashed it in less than a year… he obviously has serious mental issues
I was looking to install some insulation under my sun room so it doesn't get so cold in the wintertime. It's open underneath with the floor boards, so it's easily accessible. What would you do?
Spray foam is the best bang for your buck and would provide the highest R-value… in your instance the least amount of air flow under that flow would be most helpful… also some type of thermal break… typically any flooring that won’t transmit any cold easily
Have a great weekend guys. I’ll see you on the next one 😜
😂😂 thanks buddy! Have a great weekend!
You don't not in any way need to wipe your drywall before painting drywall. Tip of the day is to wear a mask if you decide to waste your time wiping the dust off
You might want to try again on that comment… there is an edit function…. And yes, if you have too much dust on the drywall it will collect in the primer and affect the finish… but what do I know, I’ve only been doing this for a while 🤷♂️
@A.G.T.A I don't care of you've been doing it since you were on your mama's tit it's unnecessary to dust off anything other than the corners.
@A.G.T.A try to keep things a little more natural... You're acting is awful
Every keyboard warrior is an expert at everything… thanks for the acting advice too… considering I’m not really acting and this is more of a vlog, your wonderful advice is wasted on me
@A.G.T.A you were trying to act 🎬 in the beginning and you failed miserable. Don't take it so hard 🍆😂🤡
My plumbing was on the exterior wall. It's a slab house with no other real options to run the plumbing. What I did was I framed basically a knee wall, bumping the exterior wall in just at the height to the bottom of the windows and ran the plumbing through it. I have the top capped off to make a shelf to place plants, pictures, etc on. This way, the plumbing isn't in the exterior wall and I was able to complete the exterior wall fully with insulation. I did loose 4 inches down the wall, but because it's not even half the height of the exterior wall, it doesn't feel any smaller and the shelf makes it look nice.😂
That’s a very smart compromise to get the ability to properly insulate the plumbing. I’ve had to do similar things in basement renos from time to time
But you didn’t show what you did …🤦🏾♀️
We just moved the downspout from draining at the front where the garage is to the other side of the house where there is grass. We had to change the pitch of the eavestrough to allow the water to drain to the new downspout location. When you move a downspout, you either have to replace the portion of the trough that had the hole cut through it, or repair it with a piece of trough and seal it up
What did you end up doing to fix this problem. I have a similar problem. House is old and settled. The threshold is bowed up in the middle so both doors are hard to close. Looks like we need to shave the door down to make them close since there’s not enough room to shim them up and still close the doors.
The only way to fix doors with this problem is to either pull the trim and adjust the shims by unfastening the doors, or making adjustments to the door/doorway… in this case we pull the bottom sweep off of the door, shaved the door down a bit and put a new sweep on it. We adjusted the depth of the hinges slightly as well and used longer screws to fix the loosening which caused a bit of the issue… be careful with going crazy with one fix as temperate weather causes the opening to swell and contract and may present another issue
Can’t wait to see the finished project. 👍🔥
Sadly it’s not going to be done until sometime In the spring… this pool season is almost over, so there’s no point in finishing up a cool outdoor bar this year just to give it a good shot of winter
Having fun. I love it 🤣
It’s the only way to go through the day Pete 👍
It just looks painful.
It totally was… I wouldn’t recommend doing it 😂😂
Would this insulation work in a basement? House has a wooden foundation. Thanks
Ya it’ll work fine in a basement, but it’s just more expensive overall than fibreglass insulation, so it should only be used in situations where you have strapped walls and not in 2x4 or 2x6 studded walls
@@A.G.T.Athank you very much 👍
Thanks for sharing your knowledge on this , can you confirm the following : 1 - What size of cable connector is required for this model? 2 - Are the plastic spacers you dislike included with the Dimplex unit ?
You’re very welcome… you’ll need a cable connector for 12/2 wire… I think it’s 1/2” connector… and yes, the plastic spacers come with the unit, just remember, the thermostat does not unfortunately… Hope this helps… good luck with the install
🔥
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Nice installation! Looks beautiful like the installer. 😜
Oooh I’m blushing 😊
I found some liberty head dimes (mercury dime) renovating an office that used to be a theatre back in 1940’s.
Aren’t those worth money? Other than the obvious face value 😜
Yeah but not a gold mine. It’s just interesting to learn the history of the building.
That’s why I hate hotels in America. They are old as fuck
Are you suggesting they should upgrade to this mirror?
The old medicine cabinets used to have a small slot for used double edged razors. He’s too young to remember.
I’m guessing they weren’t supposed to end up inside the wall though?
Nice find!
Haha it was definitely a strange find!
That's how they used to dispose of them back in the day - they had a slit in the wall. Used to do lots of old demo and saw that once or twice!
So weird… I did notice one time on an old house reno that there were some razors in the wall… but nothing like this one… there has to be a few hundred in there
@@A.G.T.A From what I was told there is supposed to be a receptacle back there to accept the used razors.a lot of the time pople never emptied them or touched them and many people just put an opening in the wall and forgot about the collection portion 😂 good reason to wear gloves!
@mrgrassninja I found a couple of needles too, so the razors are a welcome surprise in comparison 😜
Thx for your explanation 👍
Very welcome 👍 I hope it helped and you’re enjoying your new privacy wall!
Break out the Sheetrock and Kilz…. Oh!! And fix the floor. 😐
Ya that one got a pretty good overhaul
Wow nice find! I would sand and stain if it’s all real wood. Sell or keep it. Either way you’re ahead. 👍 Great for storing blankets etc..
Ya I’m on the fence for selling it or keeping it… and I’m generally a fan of a nice piece of wooden furniture with a good dark stain… but I’m still deciding on that too
No matter what you decide it’s a win either way.
I put one in around a tub. Love it!
Happy to hear! 👍
Do you guys find the niche takes a lot of room and makes it pretty tight to shower?
@leytonjohnson5420 it feels like it might when you install it, but it really isn’t bad… you get used to it pretty quick
If you did not. Push down on his shoulder. You are not a true Friend LO.L It's hurting my Twig and berries 😂
😂😂 if he wasn’t holding the camera I might have been in trouble
Why would anyone hate on you? ❤🔥
It’s a mystery 😜🙏
What pan did you use? I cant find a base with a center drain for it....only right or left drain...could i use any shower acrylic pan or do i need thier brand?
This is used on a tub (so there is no pan for it) if you are using an acrylic shower surround kit, some will have a base that is made by the same manufacturer, but you can use another base. You just need to make sure you seal the bottom of the wall where it meets the base.
@@A.G.T.A Awesome, thank you!!
Now show him trying to get out. Thats where the real comedy would shine
Ya Tyler cut the video off a bit short… it was an interesting escape 😜
Thats crazy! I’m glad you caught it in time. ❤
You and me both! 😜
Please could I get a copy of the plans. This looks great and just what I’m looking for in my garage
Unfortunately I don’t have a copy of the plans as I did this off the cuff without a plan… I can tell you that it’s basically making a straight and level ledge on a full plywood wall and then attaching your worktop (in this case I used 3/4” plywood) using sturdy hinges… then at desired intervals (depending on how strong you need the worktop) have supports attached with hinges to the wall (make sure that the thickness of your ledge that you attached the worktop to is slightly thicker than the thickness of your supports so when you push them flat to the wall, the worktop hinges can clear them and lay flat against the wall. Having levelling legs on the bottom of the supports will account for a garage floor that isn’t level. Again I’m sorry I don’t have plans for this… I hope this helps… if you have any other specific questions, I’ll be happy to answer them for you
Just make sure he buys his own paint brushes. I worked with a guy that didn’t know how to clean a paint brush either. Use yours and don’t touch mine. Lol 😂
I told him if he keeps torching brushes he’s buying his own… hopefully now that I told him why he’s messing them up, he’ll fix his mistake
Bad Tyler 🤣
This is his 3rd one I think 😜
Fools. Get rid of that tall lanky fellow with hair.
how did it burn?
Some solvents have chemical reactions with the rag that causes spontaneous combustion… when the rag is crumpled up and allowed to gather heat… in this case it was in a cup holder so it was a perfect condition for the reaction… lucky I caught it in time
Your just so 🔥
Thank you very much 🙏❤️🔥
It’s impossible to keep your truck clean turning over rentals. Been there done that. 👍
Thank you very much! You’re right… it’s hard to keep the truck clean when you’re as busy as we are flipping from job to job 👍
