After a 2 year wait I finally took delivery of my Tacoma TRD Pro. Special thanks to @TRDJon and @Toyotajeff for their content to keep me engaged and passionate about all things TRD. Also, an especially big thanks to @UntamedMotors for stepping in and working the "numbers" to insure I was getting the best deal possible during this wild automobile market.

Trading in my much loved Army Green FJ Cruiser for this 4Runner. I definitely wanted to get the final year with the bullet proof 4.0 L motor and rugged 5 speed automatic transmission. Just didn’t want to wait another year for a TRD Pro.

I just bought a 2015 with 2400 miles on it. I'm a mechanic so that is one reason I bought it. Very reliable, but the valve checks and subsequent adjustments are ridiculously complicated. I'm down to only 2 bikes so it will give me something to do at the 6K mark.
Do you still have the truck ?
Thanks! Very helpful.
How is the vibration after
I have the same year of RC51 & CBR900RR on the same colours
Boy ......,. it's good to have $$$$$$
Love the bike mate, wondering though do you have anything on where the sticker locations go or where to get reproduction stickers as I'm chasing afew for my bike.
Still have it?
Hi is this for sale ? Thanks
Kudos to all of us 50+ somethings out there on them crotch rockets...👏👏😎
Hello sir, I know this bike is for sale at WOW. I do have some interest in it and I would like to chat with you about it being a previous owner. May I tell you my email address?
The little problems the 06 had were corrected in 07 thats why the 07-08 models are the best R1s ever made! we can argue all day!
I had this bike. Loved it right up until I totalled it. If I found one of these in good condition I think I'd rebuy it.
I have one for sale 11k original miles 😉
I need it in my bike
Send me the link
How to order if you want to order this
No Corbin on the bike but no biggie! If you don’t mind I’d like to get that service manual if possible…thank you for taking good care of the bike!
It doesn’t give me a 70’s vibe but it could use a refresh.
Thanks for the nice review. Is this good as a daily commuter or as a city bike? I am 6foot 1inch tall 165lbs and a beginner rider looking for a bike which is more forgiving and easy to handle. BMW 650gs, honda cb 500x and suzuki vstrom 650 are the ones I am considering. I will be riding this bike in and around Portland, OR (which means I will have to ride in rain sometimes). I am more interested in riding on road, however Oregon trails would require some off roading capabilities. Which one is a good choice? Considering your riding experience I feel your input is valuable. So please respond when you get a chance. Please suggest if there are any other options for me, I am pretty open right now. Looking for a used but descent bike within $5k. Thank you.😊
I would look around for a nice used Honda NC 750, especially with a DCT Transmission. Super easy to ride and has tons of weather proof storage. The engine shares some part numbers of a Honda Fit so it's super reliable and rugged. I would avoid European motorcycles at all costs especially ones that are 5+ years old. Best of luck!

I believe I bought this bike from wow, excited to pick it up!
You're getting a great motorcycle my friend. Enjoy!
@@ride129 thank you sir, I have been a lifelong vfr owner!
@@ride129 just picked up the bike last weekend and have been riding it around...memories of my prior vfrs came flooding back to me! Anyhow, forgive me if this isn't the right platform but would you happen to have any remaining items from this bike still? PM me if you'd like...
@@gcSpec13 I gave WOW everything I had. I might have a Honda service manual for it.
Hello sir, did you also sell a yellow honda vfr800 to wow, nvm I think I answered my own question!
As a 6'2" rider, this bike is very cozy and fun, 100% my favorite ive ever rode and owned.
Any one on here still? I just put a down payment on a '96 smokin Joe's cbr. It's mint! 🇨🇦M.D.#17 was my favorite rider when I was just old enough to get my bike license. I couldn't find this bike, so I got a CBR900RR Fireblade in teal red & black. Now that I found my dream bike, I want the full race replica decal kit for it. Can someone help or lead me to a source? Thanks 🤘
Predator package for 4k is robbery. You can fan get the offroad premium and buy the sode steps feont grill black emblems and wheels and tires for cheaper or around the same...but now you have an extra set of wheels and tires that you can use or sell
I can’t seem to locate the part number for the Touratech rack anywhere
I have the exact same 1999 in the same color. Bought it new and had to sell it in 2010; broke my heart. However I kept in touch with the buyer and in 2020 he offered to sell it back to me. He'd only put about 1500 miles on it in 10 years but maintained it perfectly. Instant "YES!". I'll never part with it again. By far my favorite bike of all I own/have owned.
How can you say it's not a race bike this bike was literally built to compete with the Ducati 996 on the track...... but yet you hear people always referring to these bikes as Touring bike everything but what they are they are full-blown race bikes two and a half gallon gas tank that's race bike shit this is the Ducati killer on a racetrack
Now you know I hate the superhawk vtr1000 worst machine ever built they only last 30,000 miles and then they blow up so do not ever purchase one for some reason Honda doesn't feel that it's necessary to do a recall timing tensioner goes out at 30,000 miles and Honda Honda Honda Honda Honda Honda Honda Honda Honda Honda Honda Honda is okay with it they're perfectly fine with building a 30000 mile bike I've been writing and writing and emailing nothing look it up they blow up at 30,000 miles guaranteed between 30 and 35,000 miles....... But with all that being said people do underestimate these bikes everybody thinks they're super freaking slow you tell someone you got a VTR superhawk they laugh at you well not me but you get the point and they're fucking wrong these bikes have a better quarter mile time than most modern bikes...... It is a fucking blast all the way up until 30,000 miles then they make you hate them so much you just want to scream at the top of your lungs when you're taking a ride heading to Loon Lake get 25 minutes away in the middle of absolutely nowhere clack clack clack clack clack clack clack at 35 miles an hour trip over I was on cloud nine I love riding in the Sierras and just like that it was all over literally fucking traumatizing but Honda's okay with it I used to be a huge Honda guy now I despise Honda I just bought that bike just put new tires front and back riding gear Plus I spent 3500 on the bike I was like $5,000 in I got two days of enjoyment out of it...... And now a lifetime of Heartache and now no way to get another motorcycle because I obviously cannot sell that one so now I got all this nice new gear no way to buy a motorcycle because I just did but it didn't last I figured it had low mileage 30000 MI that ain't bad I thought I bought it off knew what he was doing Honda Honda Honda Honda Honda how do you really think that 30000 miles is acceptable how can you not do a recall and just change the timing chain tensioner Honda
I bought a 2001 vtr1000 superhawk geez people don't understand how quick they are look at the quarter mile 10-second quarter-mile these bikes are not slow by any means freaking blast to ride they handle amazing only one .......... (((problem))) with them bikes 30000 Mi they're done and I can't believe that Hondas okay with this no recall at 30,000 miles on these bikes the timing chain tensioner goes out for sure they do and then it blows your motor up Hondas okay with a 30000 mile bike it freaking drives me up the wall now that it happened to me it really shines a light on it why is there not a recall Honda Honda Honda Honda recall the superhawk the timing chain tensioner goes out at 30,000 miles you all know this why is there not a recall I spent $3,500 on the bike gear another $2,000 put new tires front and back on the bike another $400 it literally ran for fucking one day the day after I put the new tires on it change the oil head for the mountains smiling from ear-to-ear then all the sudden clack clack clack clack clack clack clack clack clack clack clack clack freaking Honda 30000 MI Motors down and Honda's perfectly okay with selling us a 30,000 mile bike look it up that's what they're known to go for 30000 miles if you don't change that...... So Honda do a recall and change that I'm freaking believable you think we could have money just to throw away why would anybody buy a motorcycle that only runs for 30,000 miles and this is not a fluke it's all over the internet that's how long they last 30000 miles
That's a 96
The Fit & Finish on these VTRs are 2nd to none! Look @ the Paintwork😍👍
Sweet As!👌 I've got the same model! we call the 🔥"Firestorm" here in OZ It has 100,000ks & still going Strong💪-Cheers🇦🇺🍻👍

That color is what I wanted. Unavailable, but I got a Lunar Rock 2023 same model.
Beautiful vehicle, not a poser by any stretch. You could make the argument that an SR5 RWD blacked out with TRD pro equipment might be poser, but your vehicle? No. The reason is that the only difference real difference and I’m talking about things that you can change is the suspension, and the wheels and tires. But you seem to have gotten the wheels and tires somehow. As far as four-wheel-drive capability, it’s all there everything. I like this version because it’s 4 wheel drive capable exactly like the pro in terms of rear diff, center, multi terrain select and crawl control, yet leave you to add your own touches, particularly in the suspension wheels and tires. Army green is killer.
My First Bike Was a Honda MT 50 (Loved It To Bits My First Taxi) Then A Brand New Suzuki TS 50 And I bought a 80CC BIG BORE KIT To Carry My Bride Then A Yamaha RD 125 MK2 RDLC (Mental Power For Me) Followed By A VTR250 Then A VF400FD Then A CBR AREO 600f3 (carbed 2000 Version) I Upgraded To A VTR 10000 Firestorm And LOOVE IT! LOL:)
So you got rid of the nice Japanese built Toyota 4Runner which you didn't have for very long so you can buy a Mexican built Tacoma, that's make a lot of sense.
I own a 2003 of this bike and I love it!
Do you get splash ups of water or dirt with that installed?
It's actually not bad unless you're the rider following.
I’m 5”0 … can this bike be lowered?
Yes you can buy lowering links for it.
I had this exact same bike was such a fun bike , which I sold and got a zx6r (636)
Fz1 is wayyyyyyyyyy better
Orp better than pro
She’s a beautiful machine. How has your year of ownership been? Still love her?
At the same time I purchased this 4Runner I ordered a Tacoma TRD Pro with a manual transmission. A little over a year later the Tacoma arrived and I felt in love with it. I understand the benefits of the 4Runner over the Tacoma but there's just something about driving the Tacoma that I decided to keep the truck as my daily driver.
how is the manual?
It's wonderful. For me it makes the simple task of driving way more enjoyable and entertaining. Always the right gear for the situation and the engine never is lugging.
That sounds horrible and Deff not firing on all 4
So cool
Yeah I did the same thing yesterday. Picked up my 2021 4Runner TRD OffRoad Premium w/ Predator Package, traded my 2015 F250 in on it, and I absolutely love my new Yota! Black/black and gorgeous and will run forever. It had 33k miles and my truck had 58k miles and got 11mpg diesel and now I get 17/20mpg gas. Mines for the tray in the back too and idk I like it, but doubt I’ll use it much. Beautiful trucks and basically a Pro minus the suspension and a lot cheaper. Especially these days with all used trucks being marked up. I like that green too, but my favorites are the black of course and the grey. Nice truck!
