I thought what happened off-screen was Clu putting the corrupted disc on tron's back leading to rinzler's creation but the tron uprising ending breaks the canon with this one. Are all of these canon or is the movie considered as the man storyline

I wonder what it was that corrupted CLU.. Was he “influenced” by someone or something or was it a glitch in his software/code? 🤔

It seems like there’s only three constants in this event that occurred with absolute certainty: CLU saying “FLYNN” at the beginning, Flynn saying “Yeah?” in response, and CLU putting on his helmet to initiate the coup. Everything else is muddied by differing perspectives.

I'm so sad I was a kid/teen in a third world country during the PSP heyday. My cousin had one when we were kids and then I bought one off a guy from school in HS, but man had I been an adult with money and access to UMD and better accessories the PSP would've been my ultimate media machine! From movies to music to games 😭 I still have that PSP. When my cousin passed away I wanted to inherit his old PSP stuff as a memento from our childhood but never knew how to ask my aunt about it :/

I am curious with one thing. Isn't mini-DVD compatible with PSP? Since old Playstation devices used the DVD format for games, I am curious if a mini-DVD disc with a UMD case could work.

I used custom firmware to play UMD movies not released in the US or are way too expensive on resale. i.e. Reservoir Dogs and Scarface. There's a couple of ROM dumps of UMD movies online

If you think about the two scenes, the one from the movie is what Flynn remembers, and the one from the show is the one both TRON and Dyson remember. and we have our brief POV of Anon. So they're remembering what sticks out in their memory about what happened that night.

Umd's are great as they are both portable and durable. The disc is protected by the plastic cover, unlike dvd's.

Having grown up with a PSP I can understand. I even had a few umds of some films though not many just AVP and Fantastic 4 but it was in alot of ways revolutionary for the time to be able to watch movies on the go. Nowadays as you said it's more a novelty than anything plus even back when the format was popular it was just easier to rip your DVD and put it on there saving battery life. Though I still recommend picking up a few if you can get them cheap like the Sam Raimi Spider-Man Trilogy.

It is kind of unfortunate that UMD video failed but at least it was league's better than GBA video with its notoriously bad picture and audio quality
