This horse is not only severely overbent but so much so that he has the "broken neck" at times -- when the neck vertebrae momentarily get out of line showing an angle rather than a smooth curve about 1/4 of the way down from the poll. It's injurious to the horse as well as drastically incorrect. I didn't see one moment when the poll was the highest poing and the head wasn't behind the vertical. So sad that "dressage" has come to this.

To my eye, the horse lacks the engagement (defined in the German manuals as the hind leg bent when carrying weight, which indicates that it’s working from back to front ) appropriate to the level and the movements, and it doesn’t improve much as the work progresses. Some of this may be inherent in the horse’s build. Conrad Schumacher’s ‘breathing leg’ can look like the rider is kicking, but several times the horse gives a distinct hop as the leg moves so it seems those who say the rider is constantly kicking/ spurring may be correct. That said, the lovely rhythm throughout is notable, though at one time the amount of swinging from side to side than in the advanced movements ( tempis, passage, piaffe) might have been penalised in a test.

Wenn man über die schlechte Halsung (falscher Knick) und das laufen hinter der senkrechten wegsehen mag, dazu ständiges treiben, sicher eine tolle Show. Mit echter Reitkunst hat das in Aachen aber wenig zu tun. Kommerz zu lasten der Pferde.

So sad to see dressage become so corrupted and circussy. That is what passage looks like when the horses knees are rapped with bamboo rods. Why learn how to train horses when you can just fake it. Spastic movement, with unnatural elevation damaging the horses joints because real muscle development and unity is jut not there.

Die Leute lachen hier über etwas, was eine Schande ist. Weg mit solch idiotischen Richtern. Gut, dass Frau Gräf das mit Humor nehmen kann, weil es ja nix nützt. Das Übel in der Dressurreiterei hat in den Richtern seine Basis.

Absolutely sad to see during a warm up a horse ridden in this way. I wonder how you can promote such as being a good video. You should actually show it adding the comment: THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO RIDE A HORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will never subscribe to such a channel if this is the quality not respecting the welfare of the horses. But, thank you!!! I had the possibility to express myself and hope this wont be a model for riders learning!

Absolutely horrendous - that poor horse is so behind the vertical, swollen parotid gland due to constantly being compressed in the front end, the hind legs are trailing and never come anywhere near the centre of mass, the front legs are frantically flinging due to being so collapsed in the thoracic sling and on the forehand, and the rider is kicking and spurring away at every stride like a pony clubber, with arms and hands like two steel rods, never giving once in this entire 'drilling' of this poor bloody horse!!! The upbeat music can not mask this damn abuse!!!😭💔😭

sorry nothing wonderfull: more then 90% horse behind the vertikal, poll not highest point and wrong "knick". The jawbone is tight (horse cant swollow) and rider is pulling continuasly. those principles of classic dressage should be maintained at that level!!

This horse is consistently behind the vertical and therefore cannot see where it is going. This is not classical riding.
