I assume there are no scuba diving shops or dive instructors on Maupiti? I read the lagoon is only about 15' deep but it should be ideal for snorkeling. Too bad there are no accomodations or outfitters for scuba diving on the island.
There weren’t when I was there but I was told that it’s going to change. But there was definitely scuba diving excursions by Maupiti Diving. Here’s the site: www.maupitidiving.com/
Certainly one of the three most beautiful islands on Earth. I've wanted to visit the Society Islands, Fiji Islands & Cook Islands for many years. How much does it cost to stay on Maupiti? How much is the lodging per night/week and how much are the meals, drinks? Also how long can you stay on the island? Can you stay there for 3 months if you wanted? Thanks so much. I can't wait to step into "Paradise". "Bula!"
There’s a yes answer to all your questions! You pay per package there because there are no flights there from Tahiti to Maupiti every day. The flights are every other day. I paid for a 4 night package which cost me less than $400 including tips. I booked everything via tahitiadventures.com/ and I find them to be the best. If you can do Cook Islands from Tahiti, definitely do it! It’s so worth it!

I think my heart is there just from your video. I have visited Rarotonga, Cook Islands, and from the videos of Huahine that I have seen so far, Huahine feels to me like the Rarotonga of 30 or 40 years ago, at a time when tourism had not quite taken over so much (don't get me wrong: Rarotonga is still AMAZING!!!!) Do you happen to know what it takes for an American to relocate to Huahine permanently?
