Switzerland's Hidden Gems - Part 1
Go off the beaten path and explore some beautiful, but less touristy, areas in Switzerland. These are just a few... more recommendations coming in future videos.
The first hidden gem we will explore is the Walensee. This stunning crystal-blue lake and the surrounding areas are only 50 minutes from Zurich. Gorgeous small villages surround the lake. Exploring is easy - you can walk along one of the footpaths by the lake, or take a boat ride.
With a stop in Quinten, you can taste some of the local wine. Since the Swiss produce much lower volumes of wine than other countries and exports are minimal, you may not have tried Swiss wine. But now is your chance.
Next we will take a look at Einsiedeln, another fabulous day trip in the Swiss-German part of Switzerland, which sits in Kanton Schwyz near the Sihlsee. This site is a favourite for those who live in the neighbouring regions, as it provides lovely walks in summer and winter. The Einsiedeln Abbey (German: Kloster Einsiedeln) is a Catholic monastery administered by the Benedictine order, and the architecture of the abbey surprises visitors with its grandiose construction. In winter, it also features a popular Christmas Market.
Then we will venture off to enjoy the Rhine Falls and the town of Schaffhausen. Here you can also visit the IWC Watch Museum. The Rhine Falls is a more well-known tourist destination, but still one you might not have marked on your "must visit" list, so it is worth getting a preview to wet your appetite for a visit. So while Switzerland's hot spots often take center stage in social media or in people's travel agendas, there are still many other places worth exploring, where you do not need to compete with a large swarm of other visitors.

Zurich, Switzerland's largest city, sits between two rivers and at the foot of a lake - an ideal location - with the snow-topped Swiss Alps rising in the background. In the heart of Zurich is the historic city center and its Main Street - the Bahnhofstrasse - which features clean pathways and well-heeled locals. Nearby are medieval church spires that point skyward. While the city is a popular g...

As someone lucky enough to have lived briefly in Luzern (also spelled Lucerne), I can attest to its charm. Poised at the foot of the Alps in the Swiss-German speaking part of central Switzerland, the town’s lake reflects the snowy peaks-including Mount Pilatus and Mout Titlis, popular day trip destinations. The River Reuss cuts through the painted walls of the Old Town, where locals and visitor...

Nearby, Lakes Como and Garda form the region commonly...

I love that you mentioned in your video about drones. Is Schafhaussen ok?

So basically if you are using a drone do not use it around groups of people or animals and you need to make sure you can see it at all times. So in downtown areas, it’s not advisable. But if you go down to the river, you can use it over the river and get some nice shots.
