Keep some foaming Hibiclens to keep in the shower and at the sink. Wash any bug bites or suspect areas when you see them.

When I was told by someone it was a spider bite, my head went to the one I saw scurry across the floor of my office a couple days prior… figure he got mad at me lol.

I will look for some Hibiclens. Doc said to make sure I clean all bites asap! ✅

I would suppose you could. But let’s look at potassium alone. For me, I have 1000mg per drink of that. The highest MG pill you can buy is 99mg. You’d need just over 10 of those to get 1000mg each time you wanted to consume that amount… which I do 2x/day. Then you’d have to add all the rest as well. That would be quite a few pills to take at once, 2x/day. This is not just cheaper than doing that, it’s much more convenient as well.

Actually, I placed my first compound order 2 weeks ago. However, the breaking news now is that this option is no longer fully available due to the FDA removing Tirzepitide from the shortage list. Pharmacies can compound it with other things, like B12, if it’s needed and your doc will write a script for it. But not just straight TZ any more as of yesterday.

It’s very hard at times and today was one of those days. Several times today things triggered memories and it was rough. Sorry to hear about your Lab. It’s tough. @@FatGuyNoMore Losing our "loves" is painful. I always say, "if you didn't love them, it wouldn't hurt." The deeper the love, the deeper the hurt. We cried so hard over Grady, would do better and then bam, it would be like the first days after his passing. You know how it is. As you also know, you guys will do this for months & months for a while. Nothing can trigger it and then other times it is memories, dates, sounds, sunny days or rain. No method, rhyme nor reason other than you loved them & still miss them desperately. Grief has no timetable. Know I will keep praying for you & your wife today & in the weeks to come. You have a community here that cares for you.

It’s amazing to me how much it hurts. Every single dog (animals in general I’m sure) seem to have their own personalities and while they can’t talk, they sure can communicate in different ways and when that’s gone… what a huge hole. 😞

@@FatGuyNoMore its a bittersweet thing I always think.. my dogs get me… I couldn’t be without dogs, but that heartbreak is testing.. it makes me realise that they aren’t here for long enough. Dogs are definitely heaven sent, they are so loving and loyal.. we don’t deserve them really but those of us that treat them well get the love back xx

I’m sure we will adopt another, but when the time is right. I agree, I couldn’t imagine not having dogs either. We still have Ms Piper. She is like 8 years old. She’s been the Queen here at the house ever since the day we adopted her. ❤️

Thank you. I’m finally to the point where I’m only crying 1-2x a day. I still hear his collar rattling (his tags) and often swear I hear him or see him. It’s been brutal. I try to keep remembering the good times, but there are times that it’s really tough for me. 😞

My metabolism got messed up BIG TIME back in the late 90’s when I had “Stomach Staple” surgery done. I was told that it would be the answer to all my problems. That I could NEVER eat too much ever again. What a bunch of 💩 that was! Because of that, I went thru many years where I would gain weight if I ate above 1300 calories in a day, sometimes as low as 1100 honestly. When I started my journey with this medication I was told to eat 2000 calories a day. I just couldn’t even come close. I managed maybe 1500 and at that had to have things like 1-2 surgery sodas a day to get to that amount. Once the fluid retention was gone, I stopped losing weight until I lowered my caloric intake, once again showing me just how badly my body was messed up because of that surgery. I could be completely satisfied and felt great eating about 900 calories a day (as long as they were the right calories). Over the last several months that number has gone up little by little. I almost feel like 1300 is my “Sweet Spot” right now as my current target is no less than 1300, no more than 1400. Even at that I have days where I really struggle to get that amount in. I use MyFitnessPal for this very reason… to design a meal plan a few days in advance to be able to make sure I am getting enough of what I need. Using MFP and counting calories for me is NOT about restriction, but rather to make sure I get what my body needs and seeing it laid out like that for me, makes it easier. I know daily I just need to eat what it says. Yes, I have days where I decide on the fly to change things up (last night I was supposed to have tacos… I didnt feel like making fresh corn tortillas, so I changed it to a taco salad instead). We shall see how much/many cals I eat in the future, but from where I was at the start of my journey, I feel I’ve come a long ways to getting back to somewhat of a “normal” (I hate that word) metabolism. 😀

I’m not feeling guilt, I guess probably due to the situation. That stroke, as it were, forced my hand. Without that, I may have felt guilty if I chose that. I’m thankful he’s not in pain any more. 😞
