In Conversation with Tremaine Emory and Marc Jacobs
Founded in 2019 by onetime Marc Jacobs employee Tremaine Emory, Denim Tears gives voice to African Diasporic stories through contemporary fashion and artful design. By innovating heritage-inspired-modernity, Denim Tears has become an undeniable trailblazer in fashion, art and design. Featuring the poignant Denim Tears cotton wreath, this collaborative embroidered Tote Bag celebrates African American heritage with the motif Tremaine Emory calls “a talisman for black people” and “a call to return back to what built this country.

In 2018, the Black Seed Brothers’ Tyrell Dixon and Kiana Miles founded Health Station, a Harlem-based business created in response to a lack of fresh produce within their largely black neighborhood. They began by selling black seed watermelons grown in the South, and over time have expanded their offering in a dedicated effort to provide nourishing fruits and vegetables to the local community. ...

Some of the most greatest art makers are so down to earth. Humble, transparent = geniuses.
Spending $20,000 on a tote bag is the obvious choice, rather than spending $200 on a kislux bag and investing the remaining $19,800 since a $20,000 bag is unlikely to increase in value.
Such an amazing conversation flowed so easily, marc is a true genius
Bro said he had a question, and then rambled in circles for 6 minutes straight lol. I thought it was a joke haha
fashionbyai AI fixes this. In Conversation: Emory, Jacobs Discuss
False Evidence Appearing Real = Fear. I feel like Marc is a Nas fan lol
Bro's hair is so distracting. Like, could you possibly calm it any worse then this? Why is it parted so hard? why so much gel? why so damn flat with such an emphasis on your weak ass hairline? Is he one of nardwuard/weird al yankovic types?
How I block this clown from my feed?
so beautiful <333
thank you
thank you
loved listening to the conversation and the stories! Would love to get more of this but I know how the designers be with putting too much info out haha.

Bro they are just people who were in the right place at the right time, don't think too highly of ppl you don't know. You'll jus be disappointed everytime
Lot of people in the NBA. Not many Kobe’s, MJs, Brons.

TREMENDOUSSSS!!!
Every time I see a interview with Tremaine he love to leave ye out of the convo, I love the stories but I do believe ye’s influence/ collaboration was very important. Much love lovely interviews ❤
He mentioned him on complex with kerwin like a month back, they talked about him for like 10-15 minutes
Almost like he owes it to him and needs to talk about it every interview or sum lol
@@AmoAlyx no he doesn’t but I feel like they just dont want to talk about him and let’s be honest he’s a big reason for the way fashion has shifted not saying he the only reason but a big part
@@michaelfolorunso7200 yh I watched it but was very like as if he didn’t want to , was kinda nonchalant and I know it’s because of what he said about V and I just think them stories with T and ye would be so interesting and insightful
This interview about Tremaine Emory and Marc Jacob story not Kanye West…
“we need to keep the lights on.. but at what expense?” 💡✨
Thank you for doing this and sharing
This is Fire always Fucked with Tremaine I didnt know Marc was so cool
The way Marc ended this interview you can tell this was just about a bag. The way in which Tremaine speaks about his work vs Marc is night and day. Tremaine was happy to see Marc wearing his own work “The Tote Bag” but he doesn’t wear his own pieces because he doesn’t think highly of them himself. Marc is also more transparent about his design process and what he’s into while not trying to sound so pretentious while Tremaine speaks like some profound abstract artist trying to explain how deep his work is without saying anything really. The take away from this interview is very telling that Tremaine doesn’t really care about his artistry but more so about money and his image. He talks of Virgil and Frank in nearly every interview or opportunity to speak. Tell us about your work or yourself. “Keeping the lights on” as a design philosophy is un-inspiring and while you speak down on the numbers guys you essentially are a numbers guy. The cotton wreath is trash. Your Bootleg Ralph Lauren collection was your last collection that really spoke more to what your brand is supposed to represent. And you should take into consideration on what comments say because for some reason people tend to think if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all. But I don’t subscribe to this notion. Do better.
Well damn. Do you know son?? Not trying to be funny but, this sounds really personal. Congrats to having the only reply that inspires one to rewatch this.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Oop!
@@SoundTasteLifestyle I’m a fan of his concept. From the Bootleg Ralph collection. The chicken bone necklace and his blue hands design were all incredibly thought out designs. It’s just sad to see someone so talented internally struggle to decide between “feeding the streets” and being an artist. The cotton wreath has become essentially the new version of Vlone. Its message has been lost to hype. Why are White kids & Asian kids buying and reselling something that represents our past trauma? Does Tremaine even care to acknowledge this??? Not even through his work??? Like I said I have something to say so imma say it. I don’t gotta know him personally. This is art. I’d approach him and tell him to his face. There’s no shame in having an opinion.
@@jjjjjjaylonvery well spoken. I always felt this way after the Supreme creative director role went sideways. I’ve been interested in his come up however I will say there is a lot of contradictions in his view points. Not to mention him name dropping Virgil but always leaving Kanye out the conversation. I hope he proves us wrong but i think the cotton wreath is on its last drops of milk.
@@jjjjjjaylon even crazier considering his "art" is probably made by chinese "slaves" in the third world, and then bought by their Chinese slavemasters.

I like everything behind the style. I just think it’s sad that not every black person gets to wear an item such as me because I’m plus size
