Just want to say that when I was in high school 1000yrs ago and taking Science, I was rubbish at it because when I was doing science, and I heard the word ‘Chemistry’, I wasn’t thinking H2O or NaCl, I was thinking about a tight rhythm section - like this (on and off the stage)!❤

The year was 1989 and I was a young pup working in a lumber yard in Denton, Tx. and this guy pulls into the yard for some lumber in a U- haul truck. When he opened the door, there were drum cases with the name Russell Kunkel on them! Another guy came in later and he owned half the square in Denton. His name was Clint Ballard, jr... He wrote , "You're No Good" for Linda Rondstadt!. I was so lucky!

Much respect to Leyland Sklar, truly a total musician. Your discography and live gigs speak volumes. Russ Kunkle not so much. An extremely generic and boring player. Can't figure out how you got all those session dates...bless your heart.

Russ... you still have those Roger North drums that were on the cover of “Running on Empty”? Roger’s from right here in Portland, OR where I live and like myself and all the other local drummers, we’d walk into a local club when he was developing the design and the first thing out of our mouths would be “... what the fuck?!?!” Seems they were mainly designed to project into the room at small, local clubs.
