Auðr the Deep-Minded, is my 31st great grandmother. We are proud of her - mainly because she is the first true Christian (not for a political reason) in our Norse family tree - at a time when this was very unusual among the Norse. In Iceland Auðr had crosses raised at Krosshólaborg, where she went to pray. Odd how that seems to be unimportant, and unmentioned, to almost every biographer of this great woman.

My wife calls our house spirts Nis Puk which she likes to think are more elvish or gnome like . I prefer the Nissie or small hobgoblin , but we treat both as the same . I also don’t know if the house sprit has come with us or comes from the Landvættir. I add tobacco to the small offerings (when I remember) because if they are Landvættir we live in Canada and that’s the indigenous custom. If they are from our ancestors well I am sure they wouldn’t mind either 😊🍻
