      Believe it or not I'm still using this setup exactly as I showed in this video. Its super efficient. I plan on building an updated version of it before next season. If I get to it I'll make another video.

    I would have done the same thing by raising the blocking up above the brackets. Even though the trim would have covered the gaps u would have always known and it probably would have bothered u in the future. It looks so much better after u raised the blocking up.

    You will only need the lift for stones or dirt mounds other big objects. That kind of cool it lifts itself. I grew up on an old number 5 John deere mower i had to operate the lift with my foot with linkage from mower to tractor. It was a real challenge for a young boy of 7 and the tractor had hand clutch. Real challenge when approaching a rock and having to lift the bar with my foot on the left side hand. Clutch was on right side of tractor. Then to make things more challenging we had a rope running from dump rake to tractor and had to trip the rack at every tripping point when it was full to create a line for the baler or farmhand bucket we used to push it all in bucker piles then put in stacks around the field.

      I have mowed thousands of acres in my lift time with sickle mower it's all we had and used to put up Prarie hay and alfalfa when I was growing up. We .mowed raked in one operation then used a farmland loader with a bucker on it to push into small pile then put into large stacks. Put up many thousands of acres that way in my life time.

    The plunger stroke is 60 a minute, it was going too slow in that vid, Dad bought a hay liner 68 in 1964 used it for 20 seasons, averaged about 20,000 bales a year, it was a very reliable baler better than the NH 276 that replaced it.

    Seth I got a question. I’m wrapping my Columns which are currently 4”x 6” posts so basically gonna have a rectangle. I’m gonna stucco the posts so is osb ok to use as paneling?

      Sorry for the delayed response. I need to look at my comments more often. OSB is probably fine. If it was me, I probably would use a higher grade plywood. I'm probably a bit too cautious but OSB likes to soak up too much water for my taste. Hope the project works out!

    Strike the back of the tooth with a hammer. Have the bar against something solid like an anvil. This will shear the rivet in the center. They will come out of the bar super easy with a punch after that. It took me less than 8 minutes to take the teeth off this way.

    I was unable to find a follow up video. I would like to know is this system worked. I am in a small townhouse community and we are experiencing similar issues in my building.

    • @bischoff6981
      @bischoff6981 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has worked well. I probably went a bit overkill. One exterior culvert/pump was enough. It handles the water perfectly. The internal house sump pump only goes on when its extremely wet out. I do have a pump for the 2nd exterior. I have all the piping run but I don't have the pump connected. When I finish this in the spring, I'll try to remember to do a wrap up video to show how it all turned out. If you have specific questions you want me to answer in that, let me know and I'll try to answer them.

    What’s that part number on that quick disconnect

    • @joescheller6680
      @joescheller6680 ปีที่แล้ว

      The John Deere number 5 didn't have quick disconnect the splined end on the mower slipped on to tractor shaft. There was a notch machined all the way around the tractor shaft and the end on the mower slide on to a point where a bolt was in an off set hole it would keep the shaft from sliding off and it bolted down onto the tractor shaft with a tight fit.

    That ball at the end of your ball goes into a clamp. That clamp is what I am trying to figure out. The clamp is on the end of the pitman arm

  • @jasonboes5892

    I have this same mower. Could you make a video of the ball on the bar and where it clamps. The clamp on mine is popping off the ball and I think there is some sort of cinch part I am missing. Your video is the closest I have to figuring it out.
