unfortunately there is no time frame to complete failure. springs are worn out, so the two pieces of flywheel are smacking into each other. they are quite robust but if I were to give you a timeframe I would be lying theres just no telling. the worse I have seen is weird shifting issues/shuddering things of that nature. I have never seen a catastrophic failure of the flywheel but heard it can happen (this is where it blows apart into a million pieces).

Hey there, if the pan is that wet I would check where the lower radiator hose meets with the thermostat housing. It could also be the engine bracket that has your oil cooler on it! I have seen that many times as well. 😊

Kukko internal bearing puller but pretty much any small two jaw puller would do the trick.

Second congratulations on another grandchild such a blessing! The Alltrack is a great vehicle with a robust engine and drivetrain and with proper service should last you for many years to come. I'm not sure where yours is leaking from (usually it is from where they manufacture the two halves of the thermostat together) or how bad it is leaking so to tell you driving over 6 hours is okay would not be right. Although I have never seen an engine turn off from lack of coolant (your vehicle has a light that will tell you when the coolant is low) I can tell you that i have seen some go for many months before the repair becomes a necessity not just a suggestion. But if you do have to wait some time before getting this repair completed my only suggestion would be to keep an eye on your coolant levels once a week or every time you fill up your gas tank whichever is sooner. Your coolant reservoir is under the hood top left of the engine compartment. There is a minimum and maximum line, just make sure it is in the middle.If you need a video on where it is I can quickly make one for you and if there is anything you need to know about your car let me know!

Hey Brian, thanks so much for watching!! I appreciate the comment :) unfortunately there's not really a great answer for you. Like you said some people get another 60k miles out of a flywheel thats clunking before it gives them issues (gets louder, harsh shifting, etc), some people don't have the noise too long and it starts to act funky. I watched your video and this noise is the typical spring failure inside the DMF. The springs in the flywheel are worn out or broken which means the two parts of the flywheel are contacting each other. *clunk* *clunk* *clunk* I wouldn't let that go to far because I have heard of these flywheels separating and causing transmission damage! There are a few special tools needed and the transmission needs to be removed. If you feel like you can do this then grab yourself a manual with all the torque specs and go for it. Removing such a heavy part of your vehicle can be extremely dangerous, please be safe.

glad you enjoyed it!! it depends on where you live and what the going hourly rate is in your area. most repair shops will be around 5-8 hours depending on the shop plus parts so you're looking at 1200-1500?

I wasn't sure if you still worked on them or not lol the detail in this game is incredible. glad you're able to verify that the cockpit instruments are spot on, even though I don't know what 99% of the buttons do.
