Hi Max, thank you very much for your super quick reply. I happened to see your video about your AK25664 from a year ago, but also your latest. The range of functions on my 2-year-old AK25664 is not nearly as extensive, I would have been particularly interested in the dB scale displayed on the VU meter. I am happy about your accommodating approach regarding the software, but due to lack of knowledge about the possible extension and its implementation, I unfortunately have to refrain from it. If you need an accurate vu-meter measurement then find the "Advance" item and turn it on. And there you can change both the visual modes and the measurement method. You will need to select the “decebel” mode (AGC disabled).

Hi i ordered one recently and received it. The version i got is a newer one REV 2.20 with 3.5mm audio in at the back and 3 buttons at the back to change settings and navigate menus. Everything else seems the same but the version features in this video in an older one with a remote that has more buttons. The newer version that i got has a remote with 7 buttons (no screen on/off button) instead of the 12 buttons of the old version remote (it has a screen on/off button). If you have the newer version, you can only turn on/off the screen by holding the lower button at the back. I asked the seller for the manual of the newer version and he sent me one in english. So you should ask too.

The indicator displays the entire frequency range from 20 to 20,000 hertz. I know this device is more for fun than accuracy but for casual use would you say that the spectrum analyser and VU meter are accurate enough and react fast enough ? I ask because i saw some VU meters reacting more to bass part of song but almost didn't react to treble part of a song which is weird. I also saw some 31 band spectrum analyser that display weird frequencies (inconsistent or inacurrate) when testing with a swipe function.

But i found the "LINK1 AK25664" on A l i E x p r e s s which seems very similar (almost identical) from vendor "LINK 1TECHNOLOGY KH Store". 2) Can you take a quick look and confirm that it is the same model ? I finally found that it was sold under the name "Hi-end OLED Sound Level Meter Audio Spectrum Analyzer Dot Matrix Digital Clock" on E b a y from the official "Nobsound (Douk Audio)" store. There is a difference and it is big. In La Scala 2 there is no STK microcircuit, there is a circuit with discrete elements, and the output stage is assembled on mosfet transistors. A toroidal transformer is also installed instead of the usual one. Because of this, the characteristics are better, as indicated in the instructions (less distortion and more power). I really like the sound quality, I can listen to it for hours and not get tired. If you had a negative experience with this music center, then this is possible because of the speakers, because they also change the sound parameters. In my case, the Magnat speakers (silk treble domes and ceramic-aluminum mid-basses) play perfectly with Sony. Well, the design here is simple and concise and there are fewer functions than in your music center. Also, in La Scala, the ability to adjust low and high frequencies is limited, no more than 6 dB, this may not suit everyone.

Another question I had was what was the difference between the 1991 SONY MHC models and the later 1997 models in terms of build quality, since SONY moved from Made in Japan to Malaysian plants...or are they comparable and inside not much had changed between 1992-1997. ​​​@@Shamsithaca The Sony mhc3600 has Lm3875 chips installed. In my opinion, they are better than STK. However, it is difficult for any microcircuit to compete with a discrete circuit. But in the mhc 3600 model, the Sony engineer acted smartly, they put two amplifiers on each channel left and right (only 4 amplifiers assembled in two separate microcircuit cases). As a result, power has increased and distortion has decreased, since microcircuits no longer work at the limit of their capabilities, as in conventional music centers, where only one microcircuit is installed (inside of which there are 2 amplifiers)! Yes, you are right, later models that were produced after 1992 are worse in workmanship, this is due to the fact that it was necessary to compete with other manufacturers and reduce the price, so they saved on everything. I am really interested in a mint condition MHC 5900, I think that model from 1995, has an STK? and also perhaps if I find in a mint condition FH G90AV. I find it has the right balance of good sound, bass and reliable and not the expensive La Scala. Having said all of that, I am amazed by the sound quality that comes out from the less expensive SOny SS-LV 90 speakers, shocking SONY was able to make such good sound from a simple internal set up in 1997. I think the RX99 model speakers are very similar, except with that quick edge HOP woofers which produce less distortion in high excursion of the woofer. Even though cheaper, these speakers if kept carefully lasts as good as new. Too bad SONY no longer invests in excellent materials and RnD

If you want to compare different microcircuits, then look at their service manual, then it will be clear which one is better in terms of characteristics for the year of their manufacture. The mhc5900 has a good STK4152MK2 chip installed on the front channels, there is also STK4122MK2, but it is already used only for the rear channels, and not for the Be-amp. This music center is already more for surround sound. But the main thing is that you like how it sounds and gives you pleasant emotions. It should not be. Most likely your volume control has oxidized. It is easy to restore it, you need to disassemble the front panel and spray inside the variable resistor with a special tool for this purpose and turn the knob. (In extreme cases wd40 or alcohol + oil is suitable)

Also another thing I noticed if I turn the volume up full 100 percent (without music) I can hear some background noise, maybe interference type sounds. last point: I dont understand how and why the cassette decks are fully functional after 32 years of storage, I thought the belts melts away if unused. Weird!

В сервис мануале указан аналог F-HE838CD. Пульт родной от этой системы, однако мне пришлось его докупать, собственно как и всю систему собрал из блоков с разных стран.
