Hello! I connected through the line, jack connector. In the menu, you can activate the microphone and calibrate the ambient noise reduction. The built-in microphone is very good, however it is only mono, so there will be no stereo reading in vu-metr mode.
Hello, I just received one of these and having a little trouble with the remote/settings. How are you able to cycle effects to arrive at the vu meter? I can’t seem to find that setting when I toggle through the buttons and there’s not much in the way of instructions. Thanks.
If you need an accurate vu-meter measurement then find the "Advance" item and turn it on. And there you can change both the visual modes and the measurement method. You will need to select the “decebel” mode (AGC disabled).
Hi i ordered one recently and received it. The version i got is a newer one REV 2.20 with 3.5mm audio in at the back and 3 buttons at the back to change settings and navigate menus. Everything else seems the same but the version features in this video in an older one with a remote that has more buttons. The newer version that i got has a remote with 7 buttons (no screen on/off button) instead of the 12 buttons of the old version remote (it has a screen on/off button). If you have the newer version, you can only turn on/off the screen by holding the lower button at the back. I asked the seller for the manual of the newer version and he sent me one in english. So you should ask too.
Hi, If you use a swipe function to output frequencies from bass to trebble, does the spectrum analyzer screen react from 20 to 20kHz ? Is there any smoothness setting applied to it ?
The indicator displays the entire frequency range from 20 to 20,000 hertz. Step 32, 64, 96... if the indicator is in 25 column display mode, then in the high frequency range the gradation is 1000, 2000, 4000, 8000, 12000, 16000; if there are 250 columns, then the entire range is presented in more detail. To make the display between frequencies smoother, there is a “smoothing” setting in the menu. Also in the latest firmware it is possible to change the division frequency 32/40/50 hertz. The frequency display of the columns changes accordingly. Example 50, 100, 150...10000, 12000, 14000, 16000, 18000, 2000.

I know this device is more for fun than accuracy but for casual use would you say that the spectrum analyser and VU meter are accurate enough and react fast enough ? I ask because i saw some VU meters reacting more to bass part of song but almost didn't react to treble part of a song which is weird. I also saw some 31 band spectrum analyser that display weird frequencies (inconsistent or inacurrate) when testing with a swipe function.
@@Chao-chao You are right, most of these devices are only suitable for decoration, but this device is a pleasant exception. Of course there are certain drawbacks, but overall this is the best device of its kind. Regarding the low level of high frequencies, here we need to take into account the components of this problem: 1. In ordinary music, the ratio of high to low frequencies is always less, by about 5 - 15 decibels, of course there are exceptions. This must be understood. 2. Hi Max. Sorry, it's me again. Do you have an operation manual from the Vu Meter? I'm not sure if my device is working or if the remote control is defect. I have already removed the batteries of the remote control and made a reset over the discharge, and held down a button for several seconds. It's supposed to be so common. I can't find a reset on the Vu meter itself. The switching of the functions is absolutely incomprehensible and somehow arbitrary. I don't see a logic. My remote control has 7 buttons, one of which is for brightness and the round multi-purpose button for up/down and left/right and OK. Max, can you tell me how to get from one mode to the next? Would be really nice from you greetings matt

The range of functions on my 2-year-old AK25664 is not nearly as extensive, I would have been particularly interested in the dB scale displayed on the VU meter. I am happy about your accommodating approach regarding the software, but due to lack of knowledge about the possible extension and its implementation, I unfortunately have to refrain from it.
