มุมมอง 1.4K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Choisya Aztec Gold is an easy plant to grow, they do best in full sun or partial shade and prefer a moist but well drained soil. this is a great addition to add a great vibrant splash of colour adding variety to your garden. This is a version of Choisya Aztec Pearl, the foliage has a hint of citrus scent. In April and May clusters of creamy white almond scented flowers appear, often with a seco...

What was the name of the last red ish colour please
Love it. Thank you. I just got a marmalade today. I'll be looking at the dwarf varieties
great video. did you say it loses its leaves in the winter so its just sticks?
These are beautiful shrubs..I’m considering planting one or more in the garden. How long will a young plant take to get up to this stature ?
Do you know what variety of cat nip this is please?
Cheers lad. have one of these in the front Garden and the flowers are lovely. God Bless from North Wales.
Hello. Can I talk to you a little bit ?
Hello. Can I talk to you a little bit ?
Wait until it finishes flowering. Don't cut all the flowers off when pollinators need them. Hate hacked back shrubs the shape of a light bulb. Overkill.
Update had soaking deluge rains this winter/ spring here s Nj. Most my hardy aloes survived keeping them drier in winter is the key even in flooding rain years they can make it thru winter
I lost the main plant last year but the pups survived. Thanks for your comment and for watching.
Just bought three of them. For the bees.
They do love the flowers, thanks for watching.
I have one of these in a shady place but it has no fragrance at all, what am I doing wrong? Thank you
That is strange, when it flowers here it can sometimes be overpowering. is it flowering much?
@@mywalledgarden Yes it does flower and has lots of black seeds? afterwards
Yes the flowers always have scent in my garden and I have tried different varieties.
@@mywalledgarden Perhaps mine is not getting enough sun
You should of planted the butia on a raised bed, it might have stood a better chance of surviving.
Great to see the upload. The palms look fantastic as always. Fingers crossed for a good growing season👍
i am so jealous of your rainy weather . We haven't had a single drop of water since november
Nothing really survives , just oleanders and some grass
Hi, what is your climate?
Great to see an update, I've always admired your nandinas, Decided to buy one early last year, but it's incredibly slow growing, maybe it'll take off this year
hi, the obsession ones I have are meant to stay quite small less than a metre. A couple of years ago one of the 2 I planted next to each other was more vigorous and I have no idea why.
@@mywalledgarden don't get me wrong it looked very attractive, it gives a contrasting leaf texture and is completely different to other shrubs, but I think I should have planted it at the front of my border rather than the back
Yes they are better closer to the front,
Gutted to hear about the Butia, mine so far seems okay, the key is definitely the ground prep, I've got it mounded up with plenty of grit in the planting hole. Think I'd be gutted if mine died now
Hi it was very depressing. Yes you can underestimate the level of drainage you actually need. I was complacent as well as it had survived really harsh conditions in previous years and I did not cover it while I was out of the country.
Super to see your video. Thought you were hibernating!
Thanks, I have been really busy and had other things going on. I have more time for it now.
Nice to see you back and thanks for showing us around your garden again, it's looking great. Mine is quite a muddy soggy mess right now, we have had so much rain haven't we it's just relentless. The mahonia looks fabulous there and the fatsia's should be just fine, I have two spider's web I rescued from the garden centre sick bay for the princely sum of 75p :) They looked sad and in a bit of a tatty state when I brought them home but once planted they did well and they handled that -11 we had in Dec '22 no problem at all. If planted in shade some of the lower leaves turn a vivid white !
Thanks again for watching 75p wow! That’s incredible. Yes the rain is depressing it never stops let’s hope for a decent spring.
Great video of a fantastic garden well done
Nice to see you back. Your garden is looking good. You have a variety of shapes, textures and colour and that all important repetition which helps create the rhythm. Have you put a barrier around the roots of the bamboo, or is yours the non invasive variety? It’ll be interesting to see how you develop the garden further. Gardens are a work in progress and never finished and that’s one of the reasons why they are so enjoyable. Happy gardening.
Hi thank you very much for watching. the bamboo is Fargesia Robusta Campbell which is a clumping variety. it is not a runner.
Welcome back your garden looking great as always thanks for sharing
Looking great. Good planting is like poetry, as the eye reads along the border, it sees the meter, you'd recognize in a poem on paper. I have soft caress in a pot, looks nice like that variety you have.
Thanks very much for watching and your comment, There is a level of artistry to get it looking just right, I have made plenty of mistakes along the way however some parts are coming together.
Which varieties are these? And how many of them did you plan? ❤
This variety is called summer magic. I planted 14 2litre plants.
I had 4 fucias and I think they are all dead, even the one I moved into shelter
How cold did it get? Last year my ones didn’t do anything until late after a harsh winter.
There really pretty but i had a few and mine died off in winter over 20 years ago.such a shame as there really lovely looking
Yes, since making this video mine are dead,it’s funny they survived one harsh winter but then got done by another a couple of years later. However I was perplexed to see some people round here still have them intact even though we got -8c last winter.
Greetings from N Ireland. Love your garden. Looks really good.
Какие интересные у Вас растения!!!Многие вижу в первый раз!!
Than you very much for watching
Hi do you know if you can make tea with the flowers? Does it have any medicinal properties lije gypericum perforatum? Thanks
I’m not sure if it’s this one they use but there are quite a few hypericum types.
Great garden thank you for giving the name of your plants it's very helpful. Lovely to have a good Liverpudlian gardener even though I'm a Mancunian. There are so few northern gardening programmes.
Hi sorry for the late reply, I have neglected the channel for a while. I think the accent has some foreign followers confused 😂. There are not many TH-cam channels in our area. I think city gardens are all being paved over. Thank you very much for watching. I will try and put more on this year.
I love everything about your video. Very informative, interesting and well explained. Subscribed. Thank you 💚
Thank you very much for your comment. I’m glad it was informative.
What a gorgeous garden and the lawn is magnificent ! It's my fist year growing Catmint from seeds and I'm looking forward to the display next year as are our cats !😺😺
Beatiful silver/Blue. Among my favorites despite living in a 10A climate. See if you can get a Brahea Armata and a European fan palm in blue and you got an awesome and very hardy collection.
I would love a Brahea. I’m not sure if they would like the constant rain here though although we never get too cold.
@@mywalledgarden what location and zone are you in? I hear people have Armata in rainy england, and bananajssi has one in Canada.
Love it - will be cutting ours back and drying for the cat!
Beautiful plants, lovely flowers! 💚👍
Thank you very much for watching.
I have the same plant but mine is growing an offset halfway up the flower stalk and I don't know what to do with it because the offset isn't growing roots from it. Should I cut it off and help it grow roots by putting it in perlite or something? I don't know what to do hopefully you have some suggestions.
Hi, I have never see that before, all the pups from mine come from the bottom. You could pull it out and try it. if it fails the plant is still there so it will make more.
Haha mine too! It has grow babies around the mother plant and on the stalk ! I leave it as it is !
I have a green version of this, tiny delicate looking little plant when i first got it and it was listed as small in the advert, would grow no bigger than 1.5m...........WELL! its getting on for 3 meters high now and bit worried that the neighbour isnt too happy about it... how do i go about cutting this down to 1.5m/2m high again 😬🫠
Hi, the green one will grow very fast, what is the variety? if you cut off the head it will likely sprout at the bottom.
Nice plant, you have used it well to give a bit of colour contrast against the other plants. I'm also worried about how the cold will affect my red star since I live at the bottom of a valley on the edge of Snowdonia and the frost can bite hard.
Hi thanks for watching the video, sadly my red Cordyline got killed off when I was out of the country last winter, the green one was damaged but is still ok. They just don’t like anything under -5c unless really sheltered.
Thanks for a great video. Question: What is the purple bedding plant growing below your peach tree?
Hi, Is this the flowering ground cover? it is campanula If that’s what you mean, thanks for watching the video been really busy this year so have not much time for TH-cam.
Really enjoying your videos What zone are you? From South Central British Columbia Canada zone 5
Its a shame that you have not found hinden gold. Looks like its rubble from the wall when it was built.
it was an old patio and part of top of the wall, no treasure unfortunately.
Looks good
Thank you for watching
This is a hardy plant...only slugs are its enemy but I spray Envi feed and protect and they stay away.
Thanks for watching, slugs are having a golden year in my garden with the weather this summer.
@@mywalledgarden Same here! but I found this product called Slugrings (Copper Rings) that works really well. Some copper tape works too but can degrade in weather. The Slugrings can be joined together or purchased in a row for those longer pots as well. The Envi feed and protect kept all of my tomato plants safe, the slugs wouldn't even eat the fallen tomato!
Than you for that’s that’s very useful to know.
Hope all your hard work pays off and your garden back to its best😢
I have a few of those in my garden in Montreal, where they are buried under two feet of snow for, at least, four months. They are a few inches above the ground now, in their second year. I had bought them in 2-gallon pots.
They are really tough plants, thanks for watching.
Wow you wouldn’t expect to find all that . Your doing a good job hard work this weather but in the end it will be worth it 👍
managed to pick up some salvia Hotlips! saw them in your garden they are awesome
They are for sure and the hardiest.
I learned from an elderly woman I took care of to always cut back the plants. She told me they will come back so much healthier. She was 100% right. I do it every fall and my plants are amazing.
I love the colour of your geum totally tangerine I have this but the colour is much stronger it doesn't go with anything but it is growing in a shadier spot. Very pretty garden.
Than you very much, I wonder if this would a little more shade as it likes a lot of water.
They still look so pretty though
