Congratulations on your challenge! What tool do you use to do the subtitles?
You have to make sure you eat enough fat... and you do need to work out somewhat to bulk up
watch out when you transition back! avoid processed junk! I would say start adding back fruits or low sugar fruits in law quantity. maybe you will keep going longer
yes, I will keep it clean and unprocessed :)
Nah you still look great bro
Thanks bro!
Healthy thinking. The difference for me with this way of eating is that the diseases we are dying of today did not exist before agriculture; cancer , diabetes and cardio vascular etc. It is not disputed and it is not disputed that mankind ate mostly meat and fish at that time. The analyses of the remains of older people (70+) concludes they were fit like athletes. But they did not have emergency health care to deal with trauma injuries. What would you eat if you had to live in the wild? There are not much plants to eat. My goal is to get healthy 120 years of living and I believe natural is king.
💯
That's a good point. I never thought of it but you're right before agriculture, it would be way easier to eat meat than try to scrounge up the necessary nutrients from vegetables. I suppose fruit would have been plentiful in some environments too. Do you eat much fruit?
@ Fruits and berries are available seasonally, but for the rest of the year they had to hunt and fish. I choose not to eat fruit. I had a couple of oranges a few weeks ago but did not feel better. I find that everything I used to crave was because of the suger. Now I have cut out dairy for that reason and I finally ended all cravings. I love to eat a peace of fatty meat, but I don’t crave it. I also realized that what I craved was what my mouth told my brain. Once I had swallowed it, it made only bad things to my body and brain and it took 3-4 days to get it out of my system. Our mouth is tricking us to self harm. Suger is just another drug.
How about sharing with us how you are cooking leaner cuts of meat so that they are as tender as ribeye?
An overnight dry brine in the fridge softens them up nicely :)
More fat / total volume bro
Don’t force feed yourself. Just eat fatty meat and workout regularly. Start with longer walks if you’re just starting the diet.
I was looking a bit skinny as well in the beginning :) But after 2 months, I'm back to normal!
Good job on the tallow. Bill Nott get a good crisp in his Ninja but it is maybe a different model. I know you are doing Lion but if you change your mind about that you can save money by adding fatty pork.
Short updates are great.
Bro you gatta pig out, I had the same thing happen to me and I had to switch over to carnivore(started diet to fix psoriasis) I switched to carnivore and i'd fast until 12-1ish and then id cook 1lb ground beef 80/20 with a half inch of butter, mix 4-6 eggs into it after its brown, and then top it off with cheese, I have another half inch of butter in my bowl before i dump it all into there and then mix and stir that all in, i'd also cook half a lb of bacon, I ate that exact meal twice a day, started noticing myself looking much better in the gym and feeling way better, I now eat that but i add some honey into just my first meal because i workout an hour after and Im feeling/looking great. but all of this started from just eating 1lb of 80/20 ground beef a day 2x a day, ive fucked around with it for 2 years now. I was very nervous/scared about all the fat I was consuming and the pork because my psoriasis responds to most food, but none of the foods listed above caused my body to break out. Idk your reasons for jjust doing the lion diet and only eating 2 steaks but I think with bacon, eggs and butter you can definitely jack up them calories and most likely feel even better.
Drink heavy cream
Check out Nimai Delgado :)
Maybe lift some weights too?? You can't just eat meat to turn into a body builder ...
Yea bruh beef tallow or butter
You don't want to force feed yourself but maybe you aren't eating enough fat. Maybe go to your local butcher and get a custom ground beef blend, like 30% or more fat. I've heard of people putting butter in their coffee. 2 steaks a day is a lot of protein but if they are leaner cuts you probably aren't getting enough fat.
Just keep going. You will start gaining weight after your body get rid of all toxins.
I went Lion 1.2kg. at 50% fat/protein Ratio Beef a day (fatty Beef salt Water) from clean carnivore and shredded away for four months then the loss just stopped, energy kicked in harder than i had ever known. Found i started not wanting the fat so much so adjusted to 35 fat 65 Protein Always OMAD. Now 14 months later skin is tight and muscle is on lean hard. 62 years old feeling 22.
That's epic! Lots of fat
What’s the motivation behind lion? I think keep it going I have done 30’days lion helped with my psoriasis lesions (not healed) but I noticed less redness. After this I would suggest fruit and meat diet that works for me with workouts. I’m doing carnivore this month meat and eggs and some raw cheese, raw kefir, halloumi. What I noticed both on this and lion I can’t lift that heavy bit low on energy. I think for me the best the meat and fruit
Just wanna see if it gives me any significant benefits. Am definitely gonna try fruit again when I end this, see how it effects me
I mean you have to actually work out and lift lol
Just keep going. Focus on how you feel because if you feel great you are on the right track.
If you have done a pure lion diet then ketosis should have already set in by the third day if you consumed enough fat, the issue some people face is consuming too much protein and getting "meat sweats" by ignoring fats
I am eating more fat now, I don't know if I'm getting meat sweats, but I'm not sweating much
Maybe try out high fat minced meat! is a great option to get more fat in!
Have you put it in a calorie counter? I can’t hit enough calories unless I put a lot of cream in my decaf coffee
Eat more fat. It’ll adjust.
Your body is still adjusting to fat metabolism. I wouldn’t force feed myself. If you can you may up the fat intake. What is your why for doing carnivore?
Man.. I'm so sorry to hear that. Sounds really painful. I struggle with a lot of problems from sitting all day too. Especially my blood pressure. I have to go for a walk everyday to keep it under control, even while eating carnivore. Day 11 and around that was one of the most difficult times for me, but push on through another week and a half and you'll be feeling amazing. You got this man!
Thanks for the support! I've been treating my back and it's getting better quickly. And yes, I need to do more walks.
What's the recommended treatment/mitigation? I'm a software engineer and cyclist, both disciplines are hard on the back.
I'm doing decompression therapy, and soon after my doctor is gonna give me some core strengthening exercise to help prevent future injuries. I also got a standing desk
Sucks for your back. Started working full time as an engineer and I realized I'm spending way too much time sitting.
Yeah it's way too much. Just got a standing desk to deal with this
Hello from Sweden. It’s normal to feel sluggish for a week or two during the metabolic transition from carbs to fat. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! A whole week huh?
Love the concise update, the keto flu feeling will pass … it’s an adjustment period
Thanks, yeah already feeling better!
Are you allowed to have things like butter or beef tallow to cook your food in? How lean is the meat you're having?
Butter no, beef tallow yes. Although I haven't been using tallow. Most of it is pretty fatty, I don't like lean meat much.
Must be the virus that is going around. Had that a couple of weeks ago. If keto flu you have the right idea to ease it.
What are you eating in a day ?
Just steaks and jerky. Quantities vary but today will be 2 thick NY strips and 8 or so big chunks of thin jerky
@@pooriajr I want to try this also but I'm afraid of the cost hahaha
Been at it for soon 2 years, it's the way to go. Everytime I try to reintroduce things back I regret it. Meat is delicous!
I hope I can reintroduce a decent variety of foods once I finish this, I really like variety
If you want the real "lion diet" you should also eat raw meat and organs.
And maybe even some hairballs huh? 😛
@ Look at the definition of carnivore diet it’s literally in the wikipedia page
A couple jerky tips. Salt it the night before, keep in the fridge and spray on liquid smoke (this is literally the condensation from wood smoke). I typically make a batch every other week (now use a pellet smoker instead of a dehydrator)
I'm curious, why salt it overnight? I've been salting it as I put on and it tastes fine. And that's cool, I didn't know you could make jerky in a pellet smoker. I'm about to get an airfryer and I was hoping to make it in that but I think the minimum temp is too high for jerky
@@pooriajr My pellet smoker also gets too warm, so I only smoke it for 2 hours (an hour each side) then keep in oven on lowest temp and fan for another couple hours. Brining gives a more pleasant salty flavour, that permeates the meat. It also draws out moisture
cold carbonated water (as bubbly as your can find) will help reduce the sugar cravings
Get some plain electrolytes to have with your water and slowly increase your fat intake. This can help mitigate the bumpy ride.
Does salt in the water count?
@@pooriajr not unless it's got the other electrolytes (magnesium/Potassium etc). You can buy these in raw form and make your own mix from them (look online how to mix your own electrolytes)
I just started carnivore a week ago. I just subscribed so I can follow along with you. My diet so far is 1/2 pound of ground beef with 3 dip eggs that I mix together for breakfast, deer or beef meat stick with a medium boiled egg for lunch and for dinner I have another 1/2 pound of ground beef with 3 dip eggs that I mix together. I'd love to eat steak soon but I have to save up to buy steak roasts in bulk so it's not so expensive. So far I have way less aches and pains, I sleep better and get noticable rest and I all around feel in a pretty good mood.
Nice, great results in just a week!
I've been technically easing my way into the carnivore diet since a week before Christmas. With the holidays I was still eating some junk along with the meat and eggs but it's been a week that I completely cut out the junk.
I'm 67 yrs old. After day 3 I noticed change for the better. By week 4 I lost 8 pounds. I want to loose about 5-10 more pounds but my body stabilized, I'm okay with that but not 100% happy about it. I have had a TON of inflammation since age 26. Now, about 40% of the inflammation is gone. I am looking forward to a LOT more benefits from Carni. I hope I get them. It seems like I will. Currently I am trying BBBE (beef, butter, bacon and eggs). Best of health to all of us.
Wow, great results! Hope they keep coming. BBBE sounds really nice honestly, I miss butter and eggs
I felt like 💩 and quit
Understandable, I will probably feel like 💩 at some point too
Good job! Definitely commit to at least 30 days of carnivore. The first week or two can be difficult for some due to adaptation. I've done carnivore in the past multiple times, and I've recently started raw carnivore recently, yeah... eating only raw meat for about 3 days so far. Sounds nuts, but I believe it's the true natural diet since humans are the only animal that cooks their food on the planet. I'm feeling incredibly calm and chill now and I'm starting to get more vivid dreams.
Wow, raw carnivore? That is fascinating, I suppose you have to be very picky about where you get the meat?
@@pooriajr Yeah check out @thenaturalhumandiet . He's been doing raw meat for over 6 years I believe and he feels great. He has a lot of knowledge on it. Also, Aajonus Vonderplantiz who is the founder of the Primal Diet and promoted it due to his own spectacular health recovery.
Also, just a quick thing. The eye of round jerky is great, but to feel your best on lion diet, it really helps to get fattier cuts of meat like short ribs or chuck roast, and of course well marbled ribeyes/t-bones/picanya/NY strip.
Interesting, I didn't realize that. But that's fine cuz every day I'm eating at least one big ny strip or ribeye, they're my favorite.
Nice job on 3 days man! Keep it up!
Thanks dude!
Absolutely not crazy! Good for you bro. I hope it goes well for you. Eat a lot more salt than you'd think. That will really help you get through the adaptation period. Give it at least 30 days strict to really see the benefits. I look forward to seeing your results!
Thank you! Oh yeah? I'm already putting salt on every bit of meat that I eat (otherwise it just tastes bland) but do you think I should be having even more than that? Mixing with water consistently?
@ if you’re starting to feel light headed, muscle cramps or brain fog then yes. But definitely listen to your body. I’d say try having some electrolytes every day until you start to get sick of the extra salt. Eventually your body gets better at balancing the electrolytes with no carbs and not need as much.
Snacking becomes such a habit, on carnivore, I would go to the pantry and look at a stick of beef jerky and pretend to chew just to get it out of my system lol
I am eating so much jerky that my teeth and gums are hurting from chewing so much
@ the cool thing is, my teeth always looked so much whiter on carnivore. The downside is, I can “taste” the ketones
I have been carnivore for decades. Most people do not need veggies.
Awesome! Good to hear another person vouch for the long term sustainability
Don't plan to eat so much. A lot of carnivores tend to eat once a day. Snacking isn't a thing on carnivore.
During adaptation, it's probably best to stay full and not have to deal with extra cravings. Once you're adapted, then give OMAD a try.
Yeah I am constantly snacking haha, every craving for sugar gets met with a fistful of jerky
