Making Baskets in Kentucky!
มุมมอง 14810 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hello and welcome! Join us today as we work on our version of an old fashioned fruit basket or hamper. Using white pine from our sawmill and cherry veneer that we cut on the veneer mill at last year's tractor show, we make a round, tapered basket modeled after the style that has long been used for harvesting and transporting various kinds of produce. These baskets were once mass produced in the...

Hello and welcome! Check out this antique homemade buzz saw as we use it to cut up slabwood from the sawmill into firewood. Notice the differences between powering it with an antique gas engine and powering it with a steam engine. Which do you think did a better job in this case? Thank you for watching!

International Harvester 1916 Mogul 8-16 Running For First Time In 40 Years
Do you still have this power unit? Could you measure the governor linkage spring on the right side-front of the engine? I have the same, however that spring is missing.
What kind of a homemade tractor is that there?
Beautiful tractor. Evenly it could actually run by itself without a driver, but of course only going straight. 1:47.
Is it possible to use propane without removing the carburetor
Dave from Engel's coach shop is just finishing the restoration of one of these machines..He has a youtube channel and has videos from the start to finish of the restoration..Well worth a look.
I was the antique wood splitter
He could benefit from actually swinging an ax.
You can tell he's a rookie because an experienced operator would know that you do not have to time it.
OSHA has entered the chat
Count your thumbs every 3 minutes.
idk, axes are cool
He doesn't strike me as the manual labor type. 🤷🏻♂️
Simply don't build stuff like they used to.. if sum works after 50yrs or 100yrs shows how quality and actual care went into building it.. quality materials.. not plastic China garbage of today..
What does China have anything to do with this video?
@@AB-wf8ek Build Quality. Are you dense?
@@AB-wf8ekeverything weirdo
@AB-wf8ek because everything today comes out of China Taiwan or Mexico and don't and won't ever last like this old school stuff does..
@@RcbasherNcrasher13 Is it China's fault we buy cheap things?
That is cool. Appears to be a Fordson model F.
I have a feeling the fans not doing much
Actually it is! The frame rate of the camera will often make things spinning at high RPMs appear to be moving very slowly or even backwards. We see the same thing fairly often with flywheels and pulleys in the engine videos. Thanks for watching 😊
Durable and quality..... modern appliances are awful
How GOOD veneer is made.
What year? She’s a beauty 👍
Cool. But also AHHHHH cocklopping Beyblade!
I’m gonna need one of these
Let us know if you find one!
this is so cool omg
That is actually awesome.
Thanks, we thought so too!
Gaint pencil sharpener
Pretty much!
👋
Necklace?
They definitely could be used to make a necklace, but the machine doesn’t link them together like some other chain making machines, it just makes the individual rings.
What do you think these rings are for? Our best guess is jump rings for jewelry or other small chain, but we actually don’t know for sure! Have you ever seen a machine like this?
Very cool unit! Never seen one of these connected up to a pump like that before!
Thanks for the feedback, it really helps us figure out what to focus on for new videos. We really like to focus on working displays as much as possible!
How did they start these back in the day???
That's a very interesting looking homemade mixer LOL! Runs good! I've always found that these igniter fired Z's run much better than the high tension mag fired ones...
That's one wild and very cool piece! Love seeing these old homemade pieces!
That another really odd looking engine! Very cool piece though, especially with it actually pumping water!
Man I really want one of these large Fairbanks engines one day! So nice to actually hear one running the way it should (aka firing every time and not 8 cycling) too! Love the big straight pipe! :)
Very nice! Runs good!
What an unusual engine! Very neat! I wonder if the governor is a little sticky and that's why it coasts so much and then fires like 3 times in a row to get back to speed?
Awesome engine! I'm definitely checking out some of your other content and subscribing!
Thank you so much for watching and for subscribing! I’m making it a priority begin posting new content regularly, glad you’re joining us!
Wow what an awesome show! I love the variety of stuff you guys have there and also how many different kinds of displays there are!
Thank you so much! We really try to focus on working demonstrations, we appreciate the comment!
Where is it held
We’re located in Central Kentucky
Would like to come to your next show. When is it and where is it
@@ChristinaJones-l6f Hi! Our next show will be October 4th and 5th 2024, located at 910 Shop Hill Rd. Liberty, Kentucky. We’d love to have you!
probably one of the most diverse bunch of implements I've seen presented on TH-cam. Great video. so many things I've never seen.
Thank you so much! We really like to focus on working demonstrations. Thanks for watching!
Awesome. That's fun to see :-)
Thanks!
Watching all this old time equipment brings back a lot of memories. I ran a lot of equipment with flat belts. Here are a couple of suggestions. The longer the belt the smother the power will be from the old 1 and 2 cylinder and hit and miss engines and also set up so you can run a belt crossed will help keep it on the pullies much better because most engines pull on the bottom belt which makes the bottom belt tight and the returning belt slack and wants to track to one side the other. Also a crossed belt is affected a lot less by wind.
Great vidio. A friend of mine has one. Been in it several times. There are two in the national truck museum at Auburn Indiana. Saw them this summer.
Thank you! They are very cool machines
The original 1911 print ads for these were fantastic, absolutely no flim-flam and to the point. The gist of it was "it's better and faster than a horse, and you don't need to feed it hay." Boom, sold, I'll take it.
That’s great! Can you tell me where you saw it?
0:51 is that a road runner, but don't see the coyote, ACME like the cartoon🤣🤣
Take my money , I want one
Could I had a electric motor running that? But instead he got a hit mess going.
Uncle Jedd, it's not pumping fast enough Jeffro. I got more just shooting at the ground 😮😂.
Do you know the serial number? 😇🙏
L548 E. It predates the 1905 fire
Wow mine is L3035 E
Very cool!
❤❤And still working ❤❤❤❤❤
Texas crude. Black gold.
Never heard of the Blizzard. Seems to do a good job.
It does!
Is it a rock tumbler?
It’s an antique butter churn!
Hmmm❤does butter churn well in a cube?
We’ve never actually attempted it 😅 but the idea was that the shape would agitate the cream more effectively without having to add baffles inside as was necessary with similarly made round churns 😊
@@emeryvilleky, make it spin fast enough, it wil open a door into another dimension.
😂
