    What is the cockpit size of a 119 compared to a 109. I'm six foot 3 and I didn't fit into a 109 cockpit without yoga. And after 2 hours of flying I couldn't get out, or walk properly.

    Last time into Oxford was to have a radio seen to but unfortunately they didn't have another radio for us to use to fly back out of there so we ended up putting it back in and getting an engineer to come to us to fix it. The airfield was buzzing with trainee pilots from Saudi Arabia that were there to do the full training from ppl through to commercial pilot and from single engine to multi engine and turbine craft for both rotary and fixed wing. They all looked very smart with their uniforms on but grasping the English language was proving hard for some with lots of corrections when talking to the tower and the poor guy in the control tower had to tell them to just stay where they were and land to avoid causing an accident. The QFI's were really earning their money

    Brings back memories for me, I flew N600SY back in 2003. Nice auto start-up with an American woman's voice saying, auto start-up initiated. Shoreham was also the base for a good friend that did my check flights on the Hughes 300 called Dennis Kenyon. He would travel up to Wales and do a bunch of us through the day but also give us a bit more tuition on perfecting autos without a run on and sometimes on sloping ground. I remember doing my first proper auto with him which he said was fine and we would have walked away from it but I'll show you what an auto without any run on is like. He also demonstrated a proper vortex state and not just the incipient stage that you do through your ppl training and its something I'll never forget. He had a knack of saying, you shouldn't do this when flying but I'll show you the result of doing this and how to recover from it. Nobody was spared and there was never a rush to be next in the seat because you knew you were in for the ride of your life. RIP Dennis

    Great informative video indeed! Just for stake of correctness, Mk.I version (or A119) had either fully analog cockpit or IDS displays like those of the video. Mk.II version (AW119MkII) had initially the same IDS displays, but also increased MTOW and 102% rotor speed for improved performance and safety in power-off landing. Then the Mk.II platform got in 2015 the Garmin glass cockpit, G1000H initially and now NXi. Finally it obtained FAA IFR certification with the new 4-displays Genesys avionics (unfortunately not yet civil certification in Europe), and won the US Navy tender for 130 training helicopters as the TH-73 Thrasher. Currently in production also for Turkish Armed forces😊

    • @sladehelicoptersgaming3148

    • @alexanderm8581
      @alexanderm8581 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sladehelicoptersgaming3148 The system must be an scas with a cmt "control motion tranducer" which monitors the cyclic/pedals position.If the pilot pulls the cyclic aft or nose up pitch then a command is sent to the SAS/SCAS actuator to help the helicopter pitch up, otherwise the sas will move the swashplate to counter this pitch, working against the pilot.
