as a killer main I will give hatch to baby meg because I want them to keep playing the game I need survivors to kill ... also sometimes I will give hatch if the survivor was funny and good at memeing but 90% of the time I get toxic teabagging survs who need to die lol

I use mage hand to hold pallet on knocked survivors who teynto use pallets for sactuary from being picked up

Have you tried to fake picking up or just looking around to see if any survivors are around? I usually start using strats once I pick up a survivor or twos playstyle. You just have to pick up what the play style the survivors are doing and adapt in the match. That’s more or less how most killers can flip a 2 gen remaining 2 hooks To a 1 gen remaining 4 kills. Just gotta learn to adapt and make sure you are enjoying yourself while you’re at it. Getting stressed out doesn’t lead to any happy memories especially since games are supposed to take you away from stress! Good luck in your adventures!

two things. Not giving hatch is fine. But waiting for a survivor to come to the hatch before you close it is annoying. But on the flip side like you said. Survivors who don't leave the fucking match drive me crazy. I'm a survivor main but when I do play killer 20% of my play time. It happens almost every game where survivors just don't fucking leave. It's the most annoying thing. almost to the point of flaming other survivors for it. But don't get me wrong. i'm fucking sick of hostage killers. Had a game where i was held hostage from an artist for 60 minutes. I shouldn't have to leave the game because someone is a shit bag who can hold me hostage in a game. THAT ALSO INCLUDES killers who hold hostage even with the end game times. This is also a common occurrence when the timer starts they slug you and just wait for it to run out. idgaf if behavior doesn't consider this holding hostage. It is, and this community pisses me off because they are so arrogant

I feel like this wouldn't be so bad is there was an altruistic option for hatch. The community took the game in this direction on its own, so developers should lean into it. Perhaps you could have an extra option to mark the hatch and reveal its aura instead of closing it. An escape through a marked hatch would count as a kill stat-wise and give both the killer and survivor bloodpoints as if they got sacrificed and survived, but it would still trigger the collapse and power the gates as normal. Leaving through a gate would count as an escape stat-wise, since survivors still have a chance to escape through gates after closing hatch. There definitely may be issues with abusing a mechanic like this (i.e. tricking survivors to come to a marked hatch to kill them, or survivors becoming even more entitled), but either the community will iron those out by creating its own "culture" around the mechanics (i.e. the culture of giving hatch), or you could add positive reinforcement to encourage altruistic behavior without forcing it. After marking a hatch, the survivor could get the same amount of bloodpoints for escaping through gate, hatch, or even dying on hook. By granting bloodpoints to a survivor who dies on hook, killers who abuse the marked hatch as a bait to kill survivors won't be as punishing. To dissuade entitlement, all options for the survivor could only grant the standard 7k "survived" bloodpoints (If not less. I think reducing it to 4k would also work well, considering that a dead survivor gets 0.) and removing the hatch bonus if the hatch is marked, while increasing the killer's "hatch closed" bonus from 250 to 2500. This would give people enough reason to continue playing normally if they didn't want to give hatch or if a survivor finds the hatch first. This would absolutely need testing and community feedback, but I think it's a good start.

I don't agree with the part where you say that the fourth kill affects the kill rates because if you follow this logic with every single killer, the kill rates would be higher, but the difference in between killers will be the same, however everything you say afetwards is totally on point and I couldn't have said it better

I rarely give hatch or gate. My reasoning is way differant though. The way I see it, the killer giving hatch or gate is a special treat. Something you don't get to have often. Give it too often and its not SPECIAL! So I give it maybe... once a month. If I feel like it. It is a rare and special treat. I'm less likely to give hatch to a 'baby' survivor because MMR should not have placed them against me. I'm going to send them back down to face killers they have a chance to actually escape.

Usually i dont give a hatch, i block it and patrol the gates, and when i catch the last survivor... if he bullied me, then its a sweet sweet revenge. If he did not, i let him go like "You know i won, but i gave you escape because i know how desperate it is to be last one with hatch blocked and you see how kind i am, so you wont dare to toxic anytime soon"
