The hamstring ( Canto choke) from the back: the choke that will surprise everyone
When it comes to gi chokes from the back position, there are MANY options. And they all are excellent choices with a high percentage rate of finish. The choke that I have found is the easiest and most powerful is the hamstring choke from the back, also known as the Canto choke from the back. As long as you can get the angle quickly and attack, you’re going to have a lot of success with this technique. #bjj #jiujitsu #brazillianjiujitsu

How to punch faster
มุมมอง 1Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Increasing punching speed is something that almost everyone who trains in striking wants to do. While a solid 60% of hand speed/punching speed is genetic, the other 40% can definitely be worked on and improved. The drills I show in this video anyone can do to help increase eh e hand speed. #boxing #punching #handspeed

Superman sweep: The sneaky half guard sweep that will get you out of trouble
มุมมอง 1.7Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Half guard is a position very rich in sweep attacks. Perhaps more sweeps exist from half guard than any other position in Jiu Jitsu. With all of the variations of half guard, it is a common position that everyone will find themselves in. This particular sweep is a favorite of mine because it is unexpected for your opponent. They have you in a dominant position, then you sweep them unexpectedly....
The importance of back pocket techniques
มุมมอง 3402 หลายเดือนก่อน
In Jiu Jitsu and even sports in general, we all have our favorite techniques that we will go to over and over to find success. But it’s also good to keep a couple less utilized techniques in your back pocket to use when the other ones fail. #bjj #brazillianjiujitsu #jiujitsu
Pass the guard every time with this guard passing system
มุมมอง 6022 หลายเดือนก่อน
There are many, many, passing systems that exist out there. One of my favorites and one that has served me the best for the better part of two decades is forcing half guard then putting myself into reverse half guard and passing from there. It’s simple and VERY effective. #bjj #brazilianjujitsu #guardpassing #halfguard
Using the entire body as a target
มุมมอง 1322 หลายเดือนก่อน

Why shadow boxing is essential
มุมมอง 9522 หลายเดือนก่อน
There are many ways one can improve their striking. Hitting a heavy bag, mitt/pad work and sparring are all essential. But one of the most underrated ways to truly develop striking technique is shadow boxing. Most do it as a warm up without realizing that it can be its own workout and development tool. #boxing #kickboxing #muaythai

Sneaky and effective way to throw an overhand punch ( corkscrew)
มุมมอง 6473 หลายเดือนก่อน
In the striking arts , an over hand punch is a great weapon to have. It can go over an opponents defense and land with a high rate of success. The version of the overhand that I show here is a bit sneakier and crafty and is known to some as a corkscrew punch. The 20X middleweight boxing champion Bernard Hopkins used this punch quite a bit during his illustrious career. #boxing #punching #striking
The sneaky “Kimura” that no one expects

Would this be better than going for a bow and arrow choke
It really comes down to preference. Everyone expects the bow and arrow choke. And for good reason, it works and is very powerful. This one is a bit more unexpected and just as powerful if not more so. So experiment with both and see which one works the best for you.
I see. That makes a lot of sense.
@ it definitely does. Try both and and let me know how they work for you.
These chokes don’t work by closing the carotid or any artery. They block veins. Everyone’s wrong on this.
Might try to hit this in the Gi when people are trying to protect against a traditional clock choke on the lapel.
never thought about trying it in a gi, but it could work if you get the grip.
Like the moves
thank you
Ude gaeshi is commonly grabbing the same side lapel and sleeves for the throw, I like this variation too where as you can do in nogi. Maybe I'll try this during my randori today if my uke keeps breaking grip, I'll lock their arm like this then. Haha. OSS
@@genso3065 there are many options once you get this grip, so if this throw doesn’t work, there are many other options
From the closed guard approach, the opponent is able to reach up and push the leg off their head quite easily. What am I missing here?
You’re not missing anything. Every move has a simple enough defense. And if they defend this, it opens up many other options for attacks .
cool stuff

Just a question, it looks like you only gave 60-70% effort, so aren't u supposed to blast it at 100%? I'm currently self learning, so it's a question out of respect. Thanks, and great video.
@@MikeyDaHammer I was hitting it harder than that in the video. I was putting some steam on the punches for sure, I would do short bursts on the bag so you guys could see then I would talk some more. I was definitely hitting hard in the video, I’m not the hardest puncher out there, but I was trying in the video for sure. And yes, with the drill, you want absolute max effort.

Great idea trying it soon
Let me know how it works for you. It's awesome.
This is very much what I do; one other thing I do is if you're having trouble getting your foot out, you can kind of "trace" their leg with your foot until you find an opening, sort of like a kid's maze toy where you follow the paths until you find the opening to get the object out
I know exactly what you’re saying. Half guard can be a real pain and any way to get out is always a bonus.

@@PAULYPOLLACCIA thank you. Glad you enjoy them
New subscriber here I would call this a "head and arm crash" or "Head and arm bailout" It is a head and arm throw for the set up in my opinion. I like the mechanics for sure. Naming conventions are important in any system so linking it back to the throw that is looks most like can be helpful.
I agree that naming things is important, helps one remember it much easier.

wouldnt it be better to get the back as u already have one hook in and arm control(jacket) ,correct me if I'm wrong
@@sandeeplokhande7010 better is dependent on how you feel about the position. Taking the back is certainly an option from this position ( and a good one). But I’m better on top than back, but both work
The argument for wrestling up is simple. You don't ever want to be predictable, if I know you're climbing my back and only ever doing that it offers me a chance to get ahead of you mentally and launch a counter attack before you get my back.
Points wise, yes (4 points vs 2), Submissions wise, yes. I think of this as a backup if I lose the seatbelt to the back.....then get on top.
@@-Tijani- only downside is that they can defend the back a bit easier than the wrestle up. Most times anyway. Getting to the back takes a bit more effort as well. But it’s obviously an option
