Literally ordered an orange MM like two hours ago and now found your video. This kit seemed so well built and durable with the 1/10 parts inside that I instantly fell in love with it and it was bit of a shocker for me that there are flaws inside the drivetrain. It’s my first RC car and prolly gonna use it stock for starters hope it’s gonna be no issues this way but nice to have a video like this in case shit hits the fan. Thanks my man 👏🏽
@@1234loci of course brotha that’s what I’m here for! It’ll be a great first RC especially if you’re leaving it stock I don’t see you having any issues with diffs whatsoever. Enjoy it man!
what the speed do you get with a 2S? 35?
I gps’d it at 31. So really no faster than stock but it has much more power so it feels completely different
Great vid, sweet bash spot you have
Thanks dude! Appreciate you watching. I’m really grateful to have a spot like this to run
Would slash 37/13 gearing be any good?
@@dillonswartz3416 as long as the input shafts fit in the chassis properly I don’t see why you couldn’t try it. As for how it will affect the car I wouldn’t know as i haven’t tried it
TRA6879 is this the right ready assembled diff I need?
@@adambeyyy123 that part number you provided only brings up a ring gear. I have all the parts needed listed in the pinned comment
Amazing location - is that a campground or something? Would love to run my UDR in a spot like that and see how they compare 👏👏
@@orbitaljellyfish808 it’s a state park! So yeah it is also a campground but the spot I’m running in is the picnic area but since it’s winter they have all the tables removed so it’s perfect for driving like this! I bet that UDR would tear it up
I sure hope the battery tray is a little roomier than it is on the Gorgon! Planning to get one soon.
If I’m not mistaken i believe it’s the same
great video, thank you,, I have a question do you think higher oil wt in the front and less in the rear might help with the wheelies and more control with the 3s system? or is 7k good
Thank you man! Appreciate you watching. I used 7k because I had it but you can certainly use a different weight. I’m sure it will have some effect, but To be honest the truck is so over powered on 3s I don’t think any combination of diff oil weight will help until the center diff is released for this truck. The center is really what controls where the power goes front to rear. The individual front/ rear weight controls more how each wheel will act once it loses traction. For instance if you have 10k vs 100k in the front, the diff will be more “locked” . In my on road car that I race with, I use silicone ear plugs in the front diff and 2k in the rear which helps it rotate around corners while the front pulls it through the corner since it’s essentially locked. That’s the best example I can give of what the front/ rear diff weights do. I hope this helps!
@ thank you for the help, i really appreciate it. can’t wait for the center differential!
Great video, dude. I love the silent driving videos. My new favorite truck. I love my Mojaves but this thing is just a whole new level of a simple vehicle that doesn't really need repairs, work or maintenance often, doesn't need upgrades, and it's still lots of fun to drive for a super good price. It was just a year ago Arrma was selling brushed "4x2" trucks for $200-240.
Thank you man! I’ll keep them coming I enjoyed making this one. And I agree this truck has quickly become one of my favorites. It’s an Absolute blast to drive and extremely reliable and tough. And the value for the money really is outstanding
Yeah exactly guy so good for 2wd and super simple life.
Yessir 👍. She rips good . I see this when it came out amd could tell it was landing good and handling good . Looks like a fun one for a short course track and everyone has stock fury’s .
@@Hungrybird474 oh man get a few of these together and that’s a really good time! Thanks for watching man
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching bro!
Very nice 👍🏻
Dope As video keep this up just the type of driving I like!
Thanks man! This struck is so much fun to drive like this. The scale looks are killer
I just got a minimax gifted to me for Christmas from my dad. He also bout himself and my brother one so we could all wheel together. Although me being the mechanic in the family I can’t help but, tinker with mine and this is for sure very helpful! Thankyou brother !
@@josephconti9655 that’s awesome to hear man! I hope you and your family have a blast with them! Glad I can be here for some help, that’s my intention. I also have a few more videos tinkering with this truck on my channel if you want to check those out, get some ideas flowing haha
@ You bet ! I’ll check them out for sure! So excited to dig into this hobby !
Looks like it could use some wheels extensions ,, great info videos on the truck, I was gunna wait till the upgraded version comes out but there’s another batch out already so I’ll build my own
Thank you man! I’m hoping they come out with a wide kit for it! It feels like the maxx v1 when it first came out, super flippy and hard to keep on its wheels
I agree on a grom ok but I hate 2 in 1 crap
It’s the worst but fortunately it seems to have enough power to keep me happy for a while
Excellent content bro that mini maxx is fast!!!
Thanks man! I really appreciate that! If there’s something you wanna see I’m always open for video ideas
I love that huge field of dirt you're running on, Looks like fun!
Soldering some new bullets would be an option too. Subbed! Great video.
@@brothertax it was an option but I wanted to keep the traxxas motor compatible with the traxxas esc. I took the power system from another truck, it just made more sense to buy another motor and put the traxxas back in the other truck
Beautiful motor! ❤
It sure is!
Hey bro did u have any diff concerns? With going 3s? On 3s battery? Also does anyone know if Traxxas is going do anything if people have blown diffs
I don’t have any diff concerns because I upgraded my diffs. I have a video on my channel about it if you wanna check that out. It’s a solid upgrade I’ve been testing it for weeks now with 0 issues. And I’m not sure what traxxas is going to do if anything. They’re the farthest thing from Redcat customer support so I’d imagine they do nothing but hopefully they prove me wrong
I had to modify my receiver box slightly and throw in a smaller receiver from a different brand . Quite why they didn’t just have a regular box with hinged lid is beyond me 🇬🇧
The receiver box is my biggest gripe with this truck. It infuriates me every time I need to get it open
Thats what she said 😅👌🏼
Just ordered this one today.cant wait 🔥💯😁
@@jamiehamer278 you won’t be disappointed!
😁 hopefully it doesn't take long to turn up 🤔 then out for a blast lol 💯🔥
The value is great, gives you room to upgrade and try out different tires, shocks etc.
@@FLPatrick1095 you really can’t beat it for the money. Only when the Redcat Valkyrie was on sale for the same price could something beat it for the price
I love that beeping melody
It’s iconic
Wow, that's awesome 👌 why the change from the vxl buddy ? I had mine out in the week never seen so many cartwheels 😂 zero breakages on 3s vxl system running 2s
It’s hard to keep on its wheel! Haha and honestly I’m not really a fan of traxxas electronics, mainly their escs. I don’t like how there are zero adjustments unless you use their tqi with the Bluetooth adapter plus they always die eventually. I was going to Continue to use the motor but the bullets were too small to work with the castle esc
3700kv nice motor 👍. I went the lower 3150kv and that’s insane so this one will be interesting to see
@@grumpygrandpa3640 I think you commented on the wrong video haha but yeah I’m excited to see how she goes hopefully today I’ll be able to test it out. I was thinking 3150 but I decided to go with speed over torque
@ so what kv did you go with I thought those quicruns 3660 where only available in 3700 or 3150kv
@@grumpygrandpa3640 you were correct, I went with the 3700. This video just doesn’t have that system in it which is the reason I said that lol
@@Pop-inRC 😂😂 I’m a numpty
Nice, getting some proper electronics in that thing. That's one of the main reasons i won't buy traxxas is their electronics are all junk imho.
I agree. I’ve never been a fan of their electronics
@Pop-inRC That little beast is like a proper rc now! Looks great!
3s
@@X2SpaZ 3s
It lands decent too👍 and flies pretty good
Pretty impressive beast! I think a sheet of thin plastic under the body (like floor boards) would block the air from flipping it. Great handling though. Like and sub'd. Cheers!
@@MysticRiverRC I was thinking of something like that! Just to fill the space a little also maybe cutting some holes in the body. Other than that yea the handling is great! Thank you for the like and sub! It’s greatly appreciated
Just curious what's the amp difference in the bl2s system and the vxl? As far as the esc goes. Like is the 2s system like 45amp esc and vxl 60? Or is it more? Idk much about the traxxas systems
@@Booth73 to be honest I don’t know. Traxxas isn’t very transparent with these specs, I can’t find them online anywhere
Careful that receiver box isn't waterproof like Traxxas claims
You mean receiver cover? 🤣 I’m aware, it’s a load of bs!
What part number did you use for the whole complete diff? And are they the same diffs from and rear?
@@maherkahala5269 check the pinned comment. And yes same both front and rear
Ur awesome! Thanks!
Fuck yea! Time for the bigger jumps🤟🏻

I don't really care if you're running brand "X" or "Y", I just like running a 2WD TT over a 4WD! I have both. That rig looks like it is a great TT for anyone looking for a sturdy 2WD with lots to offer! You better get some rest so you can have yourself a MERRY CHRISTMAS! :) I know that driving that hard takes a toll on a driver! LOL, :)!
It really is a great trophy truck. Especially for what you get for the price you really can’t beat it! You have yourself a merry Christmas as well! Thank you!
We need to see this animal perform at the pit bro haha
I second that!!
@@lnpxw20 it’s coming! Don’t you worry lol just waiting on some parts 😉
"It says Furry on the front..." I'm 1000% stealing that one. Edit: I also totally agree that the 2-in-1 stuff is a step backward. Just more anti-consumer BS from Horizon Hobby.
😂 I mean cmon! It does say furry! & yea I’m not a fan of the 2 in 1 stuff. Unfortunately for the majority of customers that will be buying this I don’t think it will ever be touched but for myself and sounds like guys like you it’s a real pain. Gotta love cost saving measures
I have a Gorgon brushless & luv it, so much fun to drive for such a simple truck. I always put some weights on the front of my 2 wd cars, to help keep the front down especially if im running 3s. Also cut some vent holes in the rear of the body on short coarse bodies, to help stop parachuting.
It’s such a great and simple platform! I can’t believe the fun this thing brings. & yea I was thinking about cutting some holes in the body, the parachute effect is crazy
I got one, however Iam kinda disappointed, $270 for truck & now i have to spend alot more to make it ready for VXL 3s, Traxxas said it was all ready just install motor & esc…not the case at all, just my opinion!
@@vitodambra72 I do agree that they played their marketing game on this one however it still is an awesome little truck once you get the upgrades in it. I have a video on how to do the diff upgrade the cheapest way possible if you want to check that out! th-cam.com/video/JhjVMkZtvcg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CpF5jdizsVRfKpMS

Trying to self-right usually strips out the pinion gear or set screw for my Traxxas Hoss 😢 Going to give the Arma Safe-D pinion gear a try as it has a d-shaped hole for the motor shaft.
@@kmason3199 that’s the reason I’m doing so much self righting! Really putting it to the test. I normally don’t self right because of the havoc it normally causes. Those d shaped pinions are nice. Thanks for watching!

That’s awesome to hear! I have a really good diff upgrade video if you haven’t seen it yet you should check it out! Thanks for the support
Seems to be handling very well, or is it just a crazy skills from a seasoned driver? :) Something is squeaking, trigger maybe? I like that narrow chassis, keeps it light and doesn't gather much dirt and debris
The truck handles great! I can’t take all the credit haha but thanks for that! And yea the wheel on the remote is what is squeaking. Kind of annoying as it’s brand new
Just so you know they will rub on your driveshafts
@@RevelationRC yea they do rub slightly but it’s nothing major. I have a few runs on them already. Not too worried
