That was Pre's first olympics and he did very well. Imagine how much he would have improved for the next one.

That was the 10,000 meters olympic final. 1996, Paul Tergat tried to beat Haile Gebreselassie by exhausting him over the last 2,000 meters.

Is it just me when the announcer says "Look at Mills! Look at Mills" that the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Its kinda funny. It's beautiful to watch these videos as an outsider, but to be running this is sure pain.

Whenever I watch this video, I am always upset and depressed when I see Pre miss out on the Bronze. But when I see Billy Mills with the greatest kick ever, I ALWAYS seem to be inspired and happy:)

I was in a tough battle for 2nd place at a local 10k (winner was about 3 mins ahead and I had long forgotten him). The finish was on a track. With 300 to go I could hear this video in my head and I started to imagine el-g chasing Bekele.... All the fatigue vanished... Sprinting at the end of 10000! And Steve pulls away to win! (2nd).
