    Isn't the whole point of these that they're super quick and convenient? This is clever but seems like a bit of a faff. Might as well just buy an actual espresso machine if you're willing to spend this amount of time making a coffee.

    Works perfectly and was really quick and easy. I find the nespresso decaff options rather bitter so being able to use my favourite lavazza decaf is great. Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤

    I tip my hat to your effort but nobody should have to do this much work for a single cup of coffee. If the pods are that expensive buy a Keurig.

    what about all the chemical in this plastic getting blasted by the hot water and licking into your daily coffee?

  • @cynthiagilbreth1352
    @cynthiagilbreth1352 ปีที่แล้ว

    I tried this and the machine made the most horrible noise, and got coffee grounds in my coffee. So I ordered the foil caps from Capmesso on Amazon and they work perfectly. They are also much quicker and easier to use than the Glad press and seal, so I'll be using the foil lids going forward. I also believe the foil is recyclable, while the Glad Press and Seal is not. A bit more money, but a lot of savings in time and the coffee is better.

    This is the best idea yet! I purchased metal refill tops that fit on the pods. They worked ok but leaked around the sides. This method works perfectly. Thank you for your fantastic idea. I will be using this method from now on.

    I watched a multitude of videos trying to find a "hack" because I couldn't justify spending $23+ on a reusable pod. And then there were so many steps for all the videos I watched on using aluminum foil, including stacking two pods together. But this is the quickest, and simplest method. also the one that works best, thank you

    Its still a very watery shot tho. I'll never quite figure out what Nespresso does differently to get the higher quality of coffee out

    cred ca cel mai misto hack l-am descoperit eu. folosesc cialde care se potrivesc la fix.Indepartez folia de aluminiu de la o capsula folosita si introduc o cialda de cafea care e mult mai ieftina si rezulta o cafea mai buna ca una originala

    Tried it. The glue in the wrap heats up on the underside of the lid and drips into the coffee rendering it completely sour tasting. Not sure how you were able to drink the resulting vial swill.

    Wrong good idea... you can find silicon cap covers .. Very easy and fast use... In the western Europe "Press'n seal" sheets cost about 20 € (25 $ in the US).

    This is fine. I like Nespresso coffee. I'll spend about $60.00 or more once a year on Nespresso. My way of saving is to alternate between Keurig, French Press & drip coffee. Depends on my mood. I also used the pre-cut foil for capsules

  • @Adam.P

    This saves cost but not time, which is the main purpose for most in getting a Nespresso machine. Will stick to the regular espresso brewing pot. less hassle

    Is it not potentially bad to brew through whatever toxins are in press n seal?

    This is a great idea EXCEPT... I have serious health concerns about running your coffee through heated plastic that was never designed for this application. You don't know, for example, if that plastic is BPA free. If it does have BPA in it, and you are heating it and running water through it, you may be ingesting that chemical and who knows what other chemicals. I just wouldn't do this. Glad Press and Seal is food safe FOR WHAT IT WAS DESIGNED FOR: covering a bowl or food at room temp or cold temperatures. Heating up to the point where it could possibly melt and running hot water through it? I just wouldn't do it.

    What a hassle. An IPA beer in the bar costs the same as 8 brand new pods. I think I'll go with using a new pod every morning for eight days till I've spent the same amount as one beer in the bar. Please.
