CadetYokev2 - OpenSource Yoke for Flight Simulators

could somebody tell me that which size of ball bearing should I get
What kind of potentiometers are you using?
Note an upgraded controller choice is a Blue Pill and run the "freejoy" project on it. it lets you do some tweaking to pot profiles and naming of the set so that the pedals even show up in windows as "flight pedals" named and let s you control the ID's of the board so it doesnt conflict with arduino button boxes.
How cost this project
where can I find the parts that i need
Vince, very nice project! I'd like to build it, have some experience in 3D-printing. How did you print the 'sheath' parts? They look difficult to print... which sides down on the printing bed?
this is incredible. looking forward to trying this out. thanks for sharing!
Sensacional.
Just finished building the standalone Mixture control. Thanks for your work!
Amazing!! thank you!!!
Vince, What Holds the Push Button inside of the knob after you add the spring?
What guage of wire did you use to wire everything?
I believe it was 20AWG which is still maybe overkill
maravilla
Hi. Could you provide a complete part list for it? Could find any in the description
The complete BOM is available on the Arduino build page
i tried making this, tip: if you want the button for each knob to have a certain length, you have to drill an oblong hole for the ball bearing; having a small circular hole would only make the buttons have shorter length to press.
any chance you willing to share the Fusion360 file, wanna mod them a bit for heli usage.
The .step file has always been available on the project page
sorry must have missed it, will go relook. thanks. ... then to figure out how to pull a step file into F360 and make it a solid design/components, ;) never stop discovering/learning. @@VincePrints
This is awesome and exactly what I want to achieve (along with a Trim Wheel) - now I just need a 3D Printer!!! Thanks for sharing all of your work.
Thanks so much!
I am new to this channel. Wonderful video! Where do I get the parts for the build? The knobs and the tubes and all. Thank you.
If you navigate through the tabs at the top of the Arduino build page, you'll find everything you need.
@@VincePrints Wow! Thank you for the response! I didn't realize that you 3D printed some of the parts. I don't have access to a 3D printer... do you sell 3D printed parts? If not, do you know who does? Thanks in advance.
@@michaelkang215 unfortunately no, but there are many retailers you should be able to order from, if you wanted to get into the hobby a good beginner recommendation would be the ender 3 or the new bamboo labs printer
@@VincePrints Thank you for taking the time to answer. I will take a look at your recommendations.
Shot in the dark here with an older video, but how does the fine control turning change the potentiometer position?
It pushes or pulls in a similar way to a ball screw, if you are familiar
@@VincePrints Makes sense now. I didn't catch that the prop and mixture sheathes' ID were actually rifled. I started with throttle sheath prints, that twice made it all the way to the stepped down threads before going haywire, and was going to use those whiffs as prop/mixture. Was having as much difficulty wrapping my brain around the smooth inner surface producing linear motion as I was why the print wasn't working. I'm completely new to printing; this is my very first build(on my son's printer from Santa!)
Quanti quà dopo il video di overvolt?
Potresti postare il link? Vorrei vedere il video

Absolute awesome. Great build. Thanks for sharing! 👍
No problem 👍
Hi! Can i use an arduino mega 2560 r3? I can't get a mega pro
You will have to check compatibility with mobiflight
how much would this cost all together? looks like an awesome build
I'm not sure about the current market, but it cost me about $50-$70 when I first built it
Hi Vince! I'm a huge fan of your CadetX projects, I think it would be awesome if you could design a HOTAS style throttle that can be 3D printed!
Currently in grad school, but planning to release more after graduation!
@@VincePrints Good luck with grad school!
Would you recommend printing the pedals with or without supports inside the hex shapes?
I printed with supports
This is cool. One idea would be a second selector knob that would allow you to choose between nav1, nav2, com1, com2 etc
Awesome! Thank you for all the time you put into this. I'm working in building a Cassena 172 cockpit, I'm also planning to get the certificate for private pilot, I have a question, What type of 3D printer you used? I'm planning to print the printable items. Congratulations in your projects and Thanks for the inspiration.
I have a PRUSA MK3 and MINI that I used to print all of these. I highly recommend their printers, software, and support!
thanks man
You need to get back it it!! Awesome videos, great work!
Currently in grad school, but hoping to get back to it afterwards!
I am making it. Thanks a lot.
Why not use hall effect sensors? (Thank you for the design, I think I'll try to make it)
Just used what I had 🤷♂️
Great. tnx for sharing.
what are you trying to demontrate how fast the video goes, is because your tutorial if it works really sucks
You’re here for the rudder pedals. I’m here for the foot cam. We are not the same.
Oh my god 🤣, when should I drop the OF link?
AYOOOOOO :O
what specific screws and nuts will i need for this? Edit: 13 M3x8 screws, M3 washers, and 4 M3 nuts
Love the videos keep it up
Why petg filament and not pla ?
Just what I had 🤷♂️ PLA will work
Super cool! Anybody can guide me where to buy the plastic handles (3D print) ? Is there file we can download and send to someone online to print it for us ? Thank you !
You can find all of the build documentation in the description!
i will make it thank u
Both of your axes are inverted from how windows SHOULD see them... Which doesn't matter for 99% of the games, but it still bugs me to no end XD
Nice! I want to build this but did you have an Video how to soldering the cables in the arduino and how to program this. Thx
There are channels that have some really good soldering and Arduino tutorials, I would suggest searching for those!
Great project, I'll be printing it soon - with a small change. You could make it precise, easier to build and more robust: BU0836A 12-Bit Joystick Controller instead of arduino (12bit analog inputs instead of 10bit) Magnetic (Hall effect) sensor Allegro A1302 and a magnet instead of potentiometers. (No gears, no dead zone, no wear)
Genius design
Thank you! Cheers!
Dude please come back I love your content
I'm trying 😢 but life is hard
My first pedal is printing
Thanks for this. First big 3d printer project. Great guide - appreciate there was a lot of hard work gone into this
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hello which one did you use Arduino and components
Everything is listed on the Arduino build page--link in description
Question if you connect 2 arduino for example 2 Leonardos will the game be able to read both at the same time? or do you somehow need to connect them?
You can have multiple connected at once to your computer as separate controllers. That is how all of my controllers can work simultaneously!
Great project. One build note - the trick of using a solder iron to push in the insert nuts is a subtle one; took us a while to realize that's how you do it. Maybe worth a note somewhere.
Sorry about that! Glad you were able to see
It would be better to put torsion springs on the brake pin axes, it will stay cleaner and there will be no danger of your socks getting stuck.
Thats a great idea!
