In the tomb of the WWI unknown, he rests on French soil. I find that incredibly moving.

It cracks me up and pisses me off when I hear President Wilson placed a corner stone containing a box that holds the Bible, The Declaration of Independance, the US Constitution and the US flag. That man could not have done more to piss on the items he put into that box. He supported amending the US Constitution so income tax could be levied and then he allowed a private central bank, The Federal Reserve, to come into power and wreak havoc on this country and the world for the last 110 years.

@4:32. The sarcophagus being quarried in Yule, Colorado is wrong because no such place exists. Yule is the type of marble The quarried location is just south of Marble, Colorado. The permanent tomb also included a cap, base and sub-base.

Just found these videos, they are so fascinating, love the way the cetenels are so respectful. Wish we had say over here in UK, we do have a tomb of an unknown soldier in West Minster Abbey, but it is not watched over 24/7 like the one here. You can visit, and a wreath is laid every year by member of Royal family, and any Royal who gets married, the flowers the bride carries is laid on the tomb. But this service of respect in USA puts our tomb acknowledgement way down the line of perfection. God Bless the tomb and the cetenels at Arlington.

With DNA analysis, I would think all the "unknown" soldiers (not just Michael Blasy) could be identified now.

Vietnam Unknown was an easy match as they strongly suspected who it was. It would be virtually impossible to identify WWI, WWII and Korean War Unknowns. They will be allowed to rest in peace.

Today, on Veterans Day, may we honor all those who have served our country. I was fortunate to observe the ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier decades ago while living in Alexandria, VA when my husband was assigned to The Pentagon. My father served in World War II and my husband was a career Army officer who was a Vietnam veteran. They both are interred at Arlington National Cemetery ... may they all rest in peace.

In 1964, our senior class visited this site. I was just 17, and the gravity didn't sink in at that time. To see this again today, on the 100th anniversary of its beginning, was an honor. Our freedom was defended by these brave soldiers.

I’ve often wondered what the first unknown soldier, a private who died in France over 100 years ago, would think now when he learned that that he was one of, if not THE MOST honored American in history. That for more than 50 years after his death, young soldiers whose own honor is almost beyond question, would compete to stand watch over his grave, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with no consideration for weather, and count it as one of the greatest privileges of their lives. That every president would bow his head at the foot of his grave, and that monarchs and princes would cross the seas to pay him respect. That he would become one of the most valued and cherished ceremonies and traditions this nation has ever known.
