Definitely my idols and Bert and Georges, I love Georges , Bert is like a myth , never met him . I was lucky enough to come across some of his european students ! Bert is the foundation of the FEI training program .

I have the book. And others. I loved him, Hugh Weily, & Frank Capot. Great riders. I learned to jump because of them . Remember as a young girl the movie " The Horse with the Flying Tail" . Hugh & his horse Nautical.

Hugh Weily, , Frank Capot made a great team. And William. I have books by them. Applied to my riding. He's right, riding is enjoyable. Jumping is like flying. It's my life 24/7.

NO. Can't admire him. At a large outdoor show, his horse refused a jump. He started beating it. The crowd got vicious. Booing, & yelling stop. The horse was terrified. The announcer told him to leave. The ring master went out to escort him out of the ring. He was disqualified from further classes. The horse show associations have banned him for awhile. Being a horse lover/owner I was extremely upset. There were rumors he was hard on horses. The abuse incident was reported in a horse magazine. Hes a disgrace to the horse world. If I hadnt seen his savage behavior, it would be hard to buy. But the entire audience show an innocent horse get beaten. Not just a corrective slap. A cruel attack on a horse. We can only imagine what that horse endured later.

The Red Rider!

My mom & I’d go to Devon in the 70s to watch him along with all the greats at that time, Rodney Jenkins, George Morris, Katy Monahan, Leslie Burr, The Galloping Grandfather and others. Fun days and the crowd loved them all.

An incredible talent particularly paired with OTTB s glad he’s become a successful flat trainer since retiring from show jumping

My maiden name is Kathy Williams. My father John Roger Williams 1922-2007 was first cousin to Jimmy Williams. My father was a horse rider in his younger years.

I used to sit next to his wife in the 80's at Wellington...not knowing he was cheating on her with a groom...no less.

Was lucky enough to b e able to watch him in person h e even did a clinic when I was riding at Hollins college as a favor to Guy Burkholder then the head of riding at Hollins ( and a friend of Rodney’s Dad, , Mr. Burkholder (aka”Red”) used to joke that Rodney brought a rope rather than a string of horses to a show😂

LS De Nemethy was a very special human being, also in his HORSEMASTERSHIP!!!!! . Now only MONEY counts. There a just a few people who wants the correct way off horse riding .The way off CAPRILLI ,is left .They only wants too sit on a horse , not riding on a horse.

Ein hervorragender Reiter mit einem eleganten Stil, makellosen Sitz und feiner, ruhiger Hand. Ich habe ihn 1978 hier in Aachen bei der Weltmeisterschaft gesehen mit Jet Run. Die beiden waren das absolute Traumpaar. Seine Ritte waren immer ein voller Genuß. Für mich sind er und William Steinkraus die größten Reiter des US Equestrian Team.

If Gem Twist refused that jump I have no doubt that it was for a good reason. We may never know what the reason was but it was valid regardless, IMHO.

I wonder how, Huaso , would have done in r 70s 80s 90s and 2000 jumpers classes. Gem twist is my all-time favorite international Grand Prix jumper, and I got a place in my heart for idle dice too. Saw idol dice personally, in lake placid with Jenkins. Huaso, was trained solely to be a high jumper. If you've never seen him jumping, in 1949 ,2.47 m, look it up. With that being said, Gem Twist is the Secretariat of show jumping.

I was thrilled when he wanted to ride my horse War Music at Upperville in 1977

I grew up watching RJ. In fact, the horse in my pic was ridden by him before I owned the horse. He was the first "Dice" horse for Rodney. His name was Pair O' Dice and he was Jumper Ch. at Upperville and Warrenton with Rodney.

He was an exquisite show jumping rider, and he turned out to be an outstanding trainer of racehorses also. I've been lucky enough to see him compete in the show ring at the Washington International Horse Show. He was a phenomenal talent, and still is too! Wish him all the success for his future.
