As you get to "Know" your kayak better, I'm sure you'll come up with more "Solutions to Problems" you''ll encounter. I have the same 'Yak, and have upgraded several little "Items", myself. About the rudder steering: If you get ALL the slack out of the system, it'll just come back when the hull gets warm and then cools off (the hull, being Poly, will expand a LOT when it gets hot...!). It happens to all my Titan 'Yaks, and is nothing to "worry" about (just the "Nature of the Beast", called thermal-dynamics!). Your 12.5 will go pretty good with the Newport NK180 and especially with the NK180 Pro, but will really "Gitty-Up-GO" with the NK300 (Mine goes WELL over 6 mph, even with the 55 amp battery installed, and has All-Day Range...!). You might want to put Anchor Trolleys on both sides too, so you can use an anchor or even a Sea-Anchor (to slow down your drifting in really windy weather). (If I knew how to make a video and put it on TH-cam, I'd be able to show people how I set my 'Yaks up...! People take pictures and ask questions about all my 'Yaks, whenever I go fishing.
