I love this scene because it's such a DnD party plan, I can just see the dungeon master explaining the security system of this maximum-security vault, in the hopes that the players will find a clever way of circumventing it, just for them to come back with "well it's at an airport, right? What if we just ram a plane through the wall?" The first time I tried to follow this explanation and watched the plan unfold, it seemed absolutely absurd. Now that I've seen the film multiple times, the plan really does make sense given the circumstances and resources allotted to the team before this point

People need to understand that both of two things happened: 1 - in some scenes, not hearing the dialogue is intentional to reflect the confusion of the central character (ie "ignorance is our ammunition") 2 - many theaters straight up played the film wrong, with the speakers setup incorrectly in order to save money on replacing equipment (which is why the film is much easier to understand on TVs)
