I'd say after 6 months of driving you should know somewhat how the industry works. If you can lease a truck then go for it. A new truck if possible, less problems hopefully than a used truck at least it's under warranty.

The DOT said livestock haulers can't do their job safely using an ELD. Why is that and why wouldn't it be unsafe for other truck drivers. ELDs record a driver's time just like paper logs, that is all they do.

Old camera footage will absolutely be used against you in court. I can attest to this personally. Do not store footage of your truck on a PUBLIC road. Anywhere. Ever. The cameras on your sfi truck only record 30 seconds of video when triggered, and for the reason I stated above.

First think you should install when you get a truck is the cb radio.

If you lease a truck with Schneider, are you able to work 8 months out of the year and return the truck at the end of each 8th month cycle without penalty? Also, how many hrs per week do you have to put in before you make enough to cover all the bills needed to run the truck? How is the International going for you and any issues with it . What kind of fuel mileage are you getting with that and what speed you like to run at. As for the naysayers I just go with what works for me, watch guys like yourself and Country and use that information if it fits with what I’m doing. I went the used route and while I don’t have that big payment I have a lot of unknowns when buying used. Safe travels.
