Im not a bear hunter, i ran coon dogs. When the track goes both ways and so do the dogs, i always figured it was two animals. Dogs being a pack animal, want to stay together, but on a cold track i think they split up quicker. That bear being a sow makes me wonder if she had an older cub with her and they split up. Ive run coons that ran as a family,and treed, and others that split up as the dogs got closer. I wish i was younger and my knees weren't shot, id love to hunt bears like that once. Now that it is January how did the feed hold your dogs up during the hard hunting months? Also did you ever try the 32/32?

Genuine question? Why do you run your name tag collar between the tracking collars? I run alpha in the front for the easy light control and it's typically the most snug for correction. Run the t5 in the middle a hair loose and then the name plate collar in the back so they're not pulling against the tracking collars when tied up at the tree

A lot of fun I am sure he will remember forever. I liked the part at the end where you say remember to enjoy the hunts as the season will be over soon. That is kind of true in life as well. We all get older and won't be long... our good hunting seasons are all behind us. Enjoy them while you can. Glad to see younger hunters getting involved.
