      Thats the thing though, Odin wouldn’t ask us to go bug the hell out of people just trying to live their lives. And he already answered this question in this video, when he said he wouldn’t push his beliefs on anyone, like Garcia did to him.

    • @williammcleroy558

      @@MetallicGlitterPagan God doesn't ask us to annoy anyone either. Most Christians don't know what they are doing when they witness fo God. A witness is not to convince as a lawyer or to convict as a judge but to do what the name implies and that is to witness. It is in how we present ourselves in our daily lives. Though, it is true that some have a calling to do mission work. Usually it is not to those who know but do not care but rather for them who have no way of knowing. Notice I said "usually." I can't say whether a person is called to witness to one group or another. That is between them and God.

    They are told it is their duty to spread the Good News, so evangelism is a requirement of the religion. I wouldn’t take it personally or with annoyance, just smile and nod if you disagree. Many will do it because they genuinely care for you and are worried about you, others will do it simply because they think they have to. It’s the equivalent of you wanting to make sure a warrior dies with a sword or axe in their hand. It’s important to you (I make a broad assumption here about you, I know - so correct me if I’m wrong. I’m just trying to locate something you can relate to and communicate it). The irony is that even if you do not believe in Jesus or that He is God, you still please Him by “turning the other cheek”, even if it is via paganism. You can always tell a Christian that instead of arguing with them you’d prefer to turn the other cheek to them with a smile and agree to disagree, and move on with your day. That’d be a little bit of a mind f*ck

    I don't understand those weirdos that keep convincing people how Jesus is the way. I come from an Eastern Orthodox background and we were never taught to push that on people, no matter the differences of opinion. At the end of the day, it's not up to us to judge.

    • @williammcleroy558
      @williammcleroy558 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It isn't judgement. It is witnessing. We (Christians) are tasked with witnessing to all people. We are not lawyers who convince or judges who codemn but we have a duty to our Lord as we were told to spread the word of God to all who will hear it. If I tell you and you don't want to hear it then my obligation is over.

    I would like to share the moment when I knew. I have been drawn to our old ways for years but I have unfortunately turned a blind eye. This summer when I was out on an evening hike I decided to take a swim in my local lake. I was all alone so I was nude and that made me feel connected to nature. When i was chest deep in the water I could suddenly feel a total oneness with the lake, the fish and a pair of Osprey flying around screaming. At that moment I knew. I dont need this to be validated by someone else, it will always be there and for that I am forever thankful. First time sharing this 😅

    My question is this: do you have to use blood in your blót? I've heard this way and I've heard you have to do it like our ancestors did it. I'm strongly against the killing of animals but I will prepare a meal and offer it to the appropriate god or goddess. So it kinda confuses me a little bit. But since he only mentioned that blood was included in the past and didn't mention it to modern times, I'm assuming you don't have to use blood or sacrifice a living animal in your blót, as long as you prepare it yourself.

He had many issues with not having an altar and faced some discrimination due to it at first but we helped each other through it. We had 3 Norse Pagans in my unit but my Battalion and Brigade had issues with Norse Paganism for a while and I had wished they had less issues at the time. It is nice to hear about other Norse Pagans in uniform.

    To make a long story short, years ago I was a pentecostal preacher in christianity and as an evangelist I traveled across many states and in Canada but some of the things I witnessed first hand wasn't good, like the people being robbed by preacher's and not living the life they said they were living. I'm not here to bash christianity but I found out that it wasn't for me so as time went on and two of my son's being Norse Pagan I researched it and in time professed Heathenry (Norse Paganism) as my faith. So for anyone wanting to learn about Norse Paganism that you'll find out it is a wonderful life altering journey, like he said, do the research and hang in there ☺️

    Ive been a norse paganism for about a year or so fully now maybe 18mo. I do have a decent amount of swedish in my blood but honestly it doesnt even matter for those that think roots play too important a role. I have had a few different sources to go to and im glad youre exactly like all of them ive come to. Saying what u know. Saying just how personal it is. I studied runology for about a year before turning to asatru or norse paganism as ive been following a pagan path since i was a child. As ive come into norse paganism, I think runes as a language are something i know most about. Not even the eddas or stories or legends. They are SUPER powerful spiritually. And yeah listen to this man about the vikings TV show lbvs. As a modern thing, which is now recognized federally in the US as a religion its all different. Service to others, integrity, honor, moderation, and happiness means the most to the folk and the faith. Im glad to see pagans like you and I subscribed

    A great introduction to The Lady. I'm an Anglo Saxon pagan so we have slightly different names. I like to think the Vanir represent nature, the countryside and fluidity while the Aesir represented order, the town, and structure. The cosmic balance further reiterated with her getting half of the fallen warriors so that neither faction becomes too powerful.
